  1. Thanks for all your input.

Jared's Mobile RV Service in Santa Rosa, CA area got me up and running.  Highly recommend
    Two issues
    1) Loose wire on relay attached to Hydraulic pump motor.
    2) Bent lug and melted Insulator on power connection to pump motor,  electricity was arching to case.

Jared secured connection on relay and moved power connector enough to prevent arching.
I plan to purchase new pump motor and have Jared replace.

Where is best place to purchace HWH Spacemaker parts.   Pump Motor -  Part Number  #08053  12 volt

    Thanks again

  2.  I am interested in having our 350 Cummins Turbo connected to a computer to check diagnostics.
Don't want to spend money needlessly, what would I ask for to do a basic power and engine performance diagnostic ?
RV runs fine although I noticed a slight lack of pulling power while in Oregon last summer.
I expect it might have something to do with the Bio-diesel mandated in diesel fuel in Oregon but have never had diagnostics checked in the 12 years we have owned RV.

Is Cummins the best place for engine diagnostics ?

  3. I may be able to help. I have a Magnum 2812 in our 2004 Monterey with Samsung residential refrigerator.

Last weekend I pulled too much power while cooking dinner and heating RV. The circuit breaker on the side of the Magnum tripped and shut down power.

I reset the breaker button and Magnum went into High power charging mode. The Magnum was humming loudly and was drawing between 19-20 amps as noted on the Electrical readout on Alladin system.  This is the 3rd time this has happened, I pushed power button on the Magnum and held for 30 seconds. The Magnum cycled and restarted and charging went back to normal.

I contacted Magnum service center in WA on Monday and explained my issue. Apparently this is common and acceptable. The Tech walked me through a few changes to settings which would drop charge amps down if/when this happened again.

Call Magnum tech support, they will walk you through making the changes that at least drop the Amp draw when this happens. I am a little surprised that he did not consider this a problem.

  4. Planning to replace existing carpeting with LVP flooring this summer.

    1) Any recommendations on quality brands of flooring appreciated. Would like a quality product that will last and not scratch easily.

    2) Would like to install LVP on driver-side front slide out instead of existing bonded carpet.  Is this a good idea ?
Will LVP hold up to dining chairs and Lazy Boy recliner sliding around ?  Or should I install LVP on floor and carpet on slide floor ?

    Thanks - all information appreciated.

  5. I realize I was pulling to much power through the circuit. My real concern was what happened to my Inverter.
The Inverter was "Off" at the time but the excess power draw put it into some massive charging mode.
The Inverter alone was drawing 18 amps as noted on the Aladdin power display.
I had to shut down and reset Inverter to correct the power draw.
Typically, my breaker will trip under this condition, this time breaker did not trip and Inverter went into some crazy mode.

  6. Power shut down this am while using toaster, 1500 watt space heater, and microwave. While checking breaker which was ok, power came back on.

I assumed my EMS Power Management shut down and checked - No Error message and power was good.

Turned off space heater and started toaster and microwave again to finish breakfast. Power shut off again and didn't return.

I checked Magnun control center and noticed Red light fault. I turned everything off and noticed on Aladdin system I was still drawing 19 amps on leg 2.

I turned off breaker for Inverter at Sub-Panel and Aladdin leg 2 dropped to 0.  Turned breaker back on and Leg 2 went back to 19 amps

I went into basement and Magnum was running hard, sounded like an extreme charging mode.

I shut down Inverter and reset.

Everything back to normal , no extreme noise from Inverter and Leg 2 amps back to normal.

Have no idea what went wrong. The fault in code on Magnum Control Panel was  "Low Bat  Hi-D-0 "

Did I send the Inverter into some extreme mode by drawing to much power ?

Should I get Inverter checked out ? It only 2 years old.

    Thanks in advance.

  7. Timothy and Larry K,

Sent pictures to  Ricki Mackin and he stated about $7500 to repair.

I should have repaired the peeling 5 years ago, mine is getting pretty severe now.

I have an appointment in Eugene on 5/25 at a repair facility where I received a $4000 estimate.

If actual price is much higher that what they estimated,  I will probably make arrangements to visit The Navarro Brothers in MX.

  8. Timothy,

Thanks - I Googled and found him on Commercial St. in Eugene.

I sent an Email requesting information and rough estimate with  pictures of our RV to be forwarded.

Did you just drop off your RV ?

How long did it take ?

We are Full-timers so extended time without a place to stay could be an issue.

    Thanks,

    Darrell

    Gary K,

Thanks for the information on the Navarro Bros in MX.  I have heard about the painting work done in Mexico.

Had originally planned to go South this Spring and was planning to look for a Painter while there,  but Coronavirus changed our plans.

Now plan to spend summer in OR,  I have 2 shops in Eugene now that I am considering.

  9. The clear coat on the front and rear cap and sides along roof are peeling.  Looking for a reasonable Paint shop on West Coast to repair this.

I could live with paint without clear coat if it was a close match to existing, just looking for a good job at reasonable cost.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Darrell Terry
