  1. We have the Splindide combo in our ‘15 Dynasty and we generally like it although all of the previous comments are correct. My only dislike with it is that about every 6 months, I have to get access to the back and back flush the ‘self cleaning’ filter. The normal w/d cycle takes 1.5-2 hours but Splendide support recommends that you always use the extra rinse cycle to help keep the filter clean. Even by doing so, you still have backflush.

Also, my wife has started using Sheets Laundry Club laundry detergent that has no liquid in them. She uses 1/2 sheet because the loads are small. She buys them through Amazon. They store easier and is a lot less messy. I hav skin allergies to some detergent and these are good for that.

  2. I have a 2015 Dynasty and 2 of the last 3 years, the REMCO pumphead has frozen when the outside temp gets down around zero. I have a small 250 watt heater I put in there but it doesn’t seem to do the trick. Supposedly, the AquaHot serves a heat exchanger for this compartment as well as the basement but I have not found it or the thermostat to control it. My question is if anyone has found an insulated bag or cap to put on the pumphead or a better way of providing heat in the wet bay. I have seen some heated pads to put between the water tanks and maybe there’s some short heat tape that could be used but would like to hear your comments.

  3. I replaced my REMCO 5.3 home water pump with the same model on my 2015 Dynasty and now it surges when dry camping. I am puzzled because I have replaced it once before with no issues. I am wondering if I missed something or installed it incorrectly. Any suggestions?

  4. After being with State Farm for nearly 50 years, I am going to change company. I recently totaled my toad due to a malfunction on my Jeep GC. Coming out of a car wash the engine rapidly accelerated after putting into gear and I ran into a concrete culvert. No injuries but I wiped out the car. Now State Farm is adding $600 extra on the new car’s 6 month premium which makes it $3100/year on a 2023 Grand Cherokee!  I am registered in SD so has anyone had good results with insurance there?

  5. I have the same issue on my 2015 Dynasty but don’t see the same switch on the Carling website. Once the light burns out, is it possible that this can cause the genset to start on its own without pressing the switch?  I took this to Cummins and they couldn’t find a shirt in the wiring. On the Energy Command monitor, I get an alarm that shows ‘Over Prime’.   Mine is a 12.5 Kw Oman.

  6. I have found that whenever I press a WATER PUMP MPX switch in the coach, all illuminate so I will check out the pump.

Ironically, the file you had me download was one that I originally had uploaded when you asked for drawings last year.

Richard may be right...but I think that what he posted is NOT in your MH.  The later Dynasties, as well as my Camelot, were different from his 06...which was a transition.  THIS is how it works...  Now there is an ENTIRE file that Frank McElroy put together to explain how Multiplex works...I suggest you down load it.  We also have a copy of the 2015 Prints...but they are NOT in one file...so you have download the whole set....not that big...not 200 files like some...but here is yours...and the "CONCEPT".

FWIW, and I KNOW this for a fact and also from talking to Frank and him "supplying me with a replacement" MPX switch is this is HOW it works.  FIRST...Your Monaco does NOT have the Intellitec MPX...like MOST of us have or know about.  Someone CHANGED to an American Technologies System.  BUT, they are all the same...a Multiplex unit...

OK...for the Drawings, you will see that S11 is the same Water Pump Switch  (page 2) that is on many key pads.  That is the BEAUTY of the MPX system.....

Now LOOK at the THIRD Drawing....  Look at Relay Module 1 and look for the S11 switch.  That is Circuit 5 or Fuse 5.

The Pump Control that Richard has works just like the MPS.  But in 08 or maybe 07, Monaco ELIMINATED it and went to a Combo of MPX and ONE mechanical switch.  THIS IS KNOW....and one of our members had to replace and reprogram and also "solder in" the extra wires.  You do NOT, based on studying your prints...have that... BUT that extra run or wires to a MPX switch and such was...problematic...so the added a SEPARATE MPX Key pad to your service bay...

GOT ALL THAT....  OK...when any of the Pump (S11) buttons are pushed, the Relay Module 1 Circuit 5 is either turned ON or OFF... OK...I just read and REread your post.  AHA... I figured that there was going to be an INFAMOUS relay.  I do NOT know (or think or can find) a print on mine.  BUT, this is the logic.  Your Fans are all relay controlled.  When the MPX switch is pushed...it energizes a relay for the specific fan.  That relay then CLOSES.  Its contacts then pick up power from ANOTHER source and that is the power that goes to the Fans.  From what you said...and I can tell you that the reason they added the relay and mine, if I dig into my harddrive in my head, does NOT.  It blew fuses and Monaco said to bump UP of it blew to a 15.  THEY ELIMINATED that, I presume...by adding the BOSCH 5 Pin Relay.  Here is what you need to do...  Take you VOM and GROUND IT to the large Ground Lug on the opposite side from the Fuses.  Then turn ON the MPX switch.  NOW the LIGHT must be ON...on all switches....assuming it was that way before.  NOW...put your VOM on the fuse or remove the Fuse and find the power in...probably the spring terminal to the INSIDE.. OR...stick it in the back of the CONNECTOR (the lower one) to the PIN 1.  If you do NOT get an ON and OFF 12 VDC signal when the Pump Switch is ON and OFF...then the problem is IN the Relay Module 1.  That will be covered later...  OK...if you have POWER ON and OFF, then you need to start chasing or looking and your prints are NO help to me.

First, if you have the INLINE fuse to the Pump...I would NOT trust it.  Open up the connector and do your voltage measurements directly on the incoming side. I DID have one of these fail and it is a PITA...  I UNDERSTAND why it is needed...so if you have Voltage on the incoming side of the open fuse holder...then I would get a NEW inline fuse holder (the Plastic type for a Mini Fuse like on the ATC module and replace it.  BUT, if you want to test, then pull out the wire (if you can) on the other side of the fuse and then use a small piece of single strand (like the strands in an extension cord) and splice them temporarily together...OR if you have a Jump Pack that has a battery run power there.  You can (be creative) put your vehicle NEAR the wet bay...carefully connect Jumper Cables and "hot wire" the pump...find a good ground and then run a piece of #12 wire from the jumper cable clamp to the pump.  If it RUNS....You have an upstream problem ...THAT is the second step.

NOW...if the pump don't work....NEW pump.  If the Pump WORKS (Hot wired) and you do NOT have Voltage on the inlet side of the fuse holder....there is a BOSCH relay UPSTREAM.  It works like this.  The Signal (ON) from the MPX Relay Module 1 goes to it....it will be the standard 5 pin Bosch relay.  NOW, the rest....is, as I write, the LOGICAL way that Monaco did it.

The relay has the COIL and the contact numbers are 85 and 86 (yes...I have that branded in my brain).  ONE is ground and the OTHER is 12 VDC.  Which one on yours...it MATTERS not.  Find the PUMP CONTROL RELAY. It does NOT look like Richards picture..just a plain relay.  It may be MARKED like that.  Then ground out one side of your meter to the chassis.  With the Pump ON (you have voltage leaving Relay Module 2 Circuit 5...then touch terminal or probe terminal 85...  IF you have Power going to ONE side (85 or 86) and the OTHER is grounded...then the circuit is GOOD.  Next up.  Terminal 30 (most likely) will have INCOMING power.  Since it is a NO relay, then the OUTGOING power will be on Pin 87.  So, energize the relay.  You make a circuit, when the coil is closed, between 30 and 87.  Power in does not matter...either will work.  There should be NO wire on 87A as that is not needed...this is strictly an ON and OFF electric switch.

IF you do NOT have incoming power (with the PUMP SWITCH off) to pin 30 or 87, then the UPSTREAM Power is dead.  Maybe a fuse...or probably a Mini Circuit breaker.  I can't find in on the Dynasty Prints...and I LOOKED twice....so, you need to start in the RRB if you do not have power.  I scoured the Owners manual and it sucks....NO legend or any circuit breaker or fuse info...

That is how it probably works....May be a DIRECT line from Relay 1 Module Fuse 5 directly to the Pump...but since there is an INLINE (I assume) fuse there, then there is a Bosch Relay hidden and GOD ONLY KNOWS WHERE.  In the older Monaco's, they his all these relays (fans and Such) behind the panel where the Relay Modules were.  You TOOK off the Modules (still hooked up and out of the way and pulled off the mounting panel and there was a rats next of serpents and wires back there and relays and circuit breakers...and there is NO print in the files (and this is the Monaco Set) that show the output of the Relay Module 1 to the final point...the pump..

Thanks!  I am downloading the file and will reread to digest all this and then start troubleshooting.. Thank you for the prompt reply.

  8. I can’t get my water pump to come on when I press to multiplex switch at any location. I checked the fuse in the fuse block as well as the inline fuse and they are all in tact. There’s a relay in the circuit and don’t know how to test it. When I tried to see if I have 12V at the connector, it reads 0 volts. The pump is less than a year old but may have failed. Any suggestions as to how to test the relay or what the problem might be?  It is a REMCO #5AQUAJET-ARV pump.

  9. Has anyone had success with a repair shop in the Kansas City area to repair a slideout?  I have an issue with my bedroom slide where the aluminum H bracket the holds the slideout motor and gears has twisted and has left a gap at the housing where rain can come into the coach. I have contacted REV and they referred me to Lippert but they have been unable to send me drawings to show how this is attached to the frame around the opening.

I'm working on my LED lighting project and have some wires that are being difficult to get to.  I'm wondering if in cabinets with the electrical wireway in the bottom have a way to remove the inner cabinet bottom.  This would allow access to the electrical.

Monaco likes to press a false bottom inside the cabinets. On my ‘15 Dynasty, I can remove it with a pocket knife stuck in around the front edge.

  11. I recently had a check engine light on my dash. I have the Silverleaf Electronics display so I checked it and it said Fault code 641-9, VGT Temp-Driver-Update.  It has been intermittent and didn’t occur again for about 20 hours of driving. So I went to a Cummins Shop and after 4hours of diagnosis(about $700), they said they couldn’t find anything, but they said it could be a loose connection or a wire shorting against some metal or several other things. Their recommendation was to replace the wiring harness which was estimated to be about $5000 installed!  They said I could just monitor it but they said to get it taken care of. Has anyone run across this issue and if so, how was it resolved?  I have driven a couple of days since and no warning lights have come up. This is a ISX-600 Cummins in a 2015 Dynasty. Hope I have given enough information.

I have towed a 2010 GC for over 40,000 miles and have never experienced the wobble that many have talked about with newer model Jeeps.

That being said, does that mean newer model Jeeps have electric power steering. Maybe I need to re-think the urge to upgrade!

Yes. I went to the local Jeep Dealed and he pulled up the build card on my GC. He said it had the electric power steering and all Jeeps with electric power steering are prone to wobble. He said to have a switch mounted in the console and an inline fuse holder added under the hood to put power to the steering when towed!

  13. In the Tecma manual, it says to check to see if the macerater is clogged or stuck, check voltage to see if it’s too low and check the sensor to be sure it’s not indicating that the tank is full.  Mine would not flush after a short trip but 3 hours later it was working fine.

  14. I have a 2016 Grand Cherokee that we have towed for 7 years with no issues.  Recently, twice while turning a corner at a low speed, the two front tires get out of sync and causes the vehicle to wobble back and forth until I slow to a very slow speed while going straight ahead. We had an ‘11 Cherokee that Jeep had to put a switch in the console and I had to install a fuse in a harness under the hood to correct that issue but didn’t think I would have that problem with the Grand Cherokee. Has anyone else had this problem with a Grand Cherokee?

  15. My rear toilet is the macerating type but the other is in the middle right over the black tank and doesn’t have a macerater. I tried to flush again about 3 hours later and it worked and still works!  I hate these intermittent problems. I plan to call the manufacturer and ask customer service for advice.

  16. I have a Thetford Tecma toilet in my ‘15 Dynasty that will not flush. I checked my manual and it said possible problems might be that the tanks are near capacity but they are empty and the green sensor light indicates they are empty also. It mentions a clog in the mascerater but this one does not have a macerater. The other toilet in the coach flushes properly. I have running water in the sinks but can’t figure this one out. I even tried holding both buttons on the wall plate simultaneously to empty the bowl but nothing happened. My question is whether ther is a reset button somewhere that I don’t know where it is. Any help is appreciated.

  17. If you go to the slippery Power Gear website, there is a procedure for reprogramming the wall control to get them back in sync. You have to hold the buttons on the back side till the slide comes in and then release and press the out button while holding the buttons in again to set the out stop point.
