  1. Gary:  I have an 08 dynasty and I believe I have the same steps as yours.  That happened to me twice and both times it was the plastic gear in the motor.   I replaced the motor both times.  Twice in 11 years ain't that bad but it is a pain to change them out.   Does your motor keep running and the steps don't move or does the motor not come on at all???  If the motor does not come on at all, then it is probably not faulty gears but on the electrical side.  YOu can unplug the harness to the motor and supply 12v from an external source directly to the motor and see if that engages it.  If it does then you know the problem is in the switch.  when mine started giving me trouble I would "help" it along by pulling or pushing on the steps while holding the switch.  A couple of times pushing on it would get it to work.

I installed the Borg valves in each wheel. They should carry the inside dual valve extenders stabilizers for your wheel. Just give them a call directly. They carry lots of stuff that is not on their website.

Borg is the only one piece valves that I will recommend.

Richard:  I looked at the borg valves.  They indicate that the DL4M kit with the 9" extenders is the correct kit for the Roadmaster/Monaco chasis.  Is that the kit you purchased.

  3. I have been researching systems fire suppressantsystems for the engine compartment.  I am familiar with the "Fire Fight" products but came across the Proteng system.  It looks a lot easier to install than the Fire fight product but I am a bit concerned with the 194 degree requirrement.  Does anyone know anything about it-- this is the webpage https://proteng.com/  Would appreciate any feedback anyone has about the product.

That is a great information, Mike. I do carry the ujoint puller for our 1610 bearing plates, just in case but never crossed my mind that pulling the axles was possibly a better option. I guess I'm too much used to cars with c-clips...  I'll definitely look into fabricating/getting the covers. Is removing the axles just a matter of taking out the nuts locking it into the hub an pulling them out?  Is it possible that someone might insist on pulling just one axle and let the spider gears go nuts? Any precautions needed that you know of? Thanks.

Ivan:  tell me about your u joint puller.  I thought  once you loosen the bolts holding the ujoint it ( the driveshaft) would just slip right out.  What am I missing and can you post a picture of your puller.

  5. Thanks Frank and Scotty.  I will use the "follow" method until perhaps a new update to the software is available.  Meanwhile, great to be on the new website.  Incidentally, I joined as a new member so I could use a different e mail address even though I have been a member for about 15 years.

  6. Frank and Scotty:  Been trying to figure a way to get the equivalent of the Yahoo Digest on this new site without going thru every forum and every post.  I like to keep abreast of things that are posted but have not found an easy way to do it.  If you hit the "follow" button on each topic you will get the entire post sent to you (as I understand it)  Is that correct or have you guys figured a "digest" way of getting the new info
