2 years. Seem to be OK only in the sun for 4 to 5 months a year.
Trying to remember if I had to cut the tip off because some seem to be a bit to long .....still held. They are knot screw in just for looks.

On a friend 2006 I removed the rear camera to check for a loose connection. The wiring was just hanging in between the cap and closet wall swing around, after wiggling the the connection the camera started working. We pulled the connector apart and clean the terminals, secured the wires. There was maybe three feet of wiring hanging . I could easily drilled a hole into the closet with a ex-long drill bit.

That sound like a wire is grounding out. They is a known problem with the trailing arms on the Cayman with a RR4 suspension. Check to see that has the upgrade install.

Did you happy to check the Voltage at the plug on the pedestal. With a dim light I’m wondering if one leg is low voltage. Sometime the plug at the pedestal (female) is bad from over heating ( heavy use like running three A/C) I would check the plug on the end of the cord for signs of over heating as well. With just 2 A/C running the amp drew is lower, the plug may work because not as much heating on the terminals. Just something I would check. Rich

I don’t know about every 15 minutes. But I get a lot repeated Monacoers. Thinking about setting up a new Gmail account just for Monacoers.

Sound like a broken wire between switch and step lights . Just a gust, wires near the butt connector in the plastic slave cover one is broken.

Does your porch lite come on ?
No 12 volts normal would = bad fuse or wire.
The 53 ohm may be the light bulb in the switch. If you are looking at a fuse and it looks good I would check using a meter or just replace it.
Run a ohm test on the wires between the switch and lights in the step area.

I have had that happen when the engine batteries are a little low , because the glow plug takes longer to heat up. My Jen start off the engine batteries.
