  1. I would call O'Reily Auto parts or Napa Auto parts and let them know you are looking for two starting batteries for your 500/600 Cummins, that's all I did, batteries have been in there 4 years now, have a trickle charger on them at all times when not in use keeping them a little excited so they do not start to discharge.

  2. I have a Camp chief tent stove with a stainless Water tank that I use for remote/backpacking hunting, fishing, winter camping and Portable Sauna, I am not sure this would be something to use in the coach, it is very portable including the chimney, I think so many things could go wrong.I would think the entire floor ,walls, ceiling would have to be constructed with hardy board. Insulated chimney. Exterior roof? I have seen lots of trailers with stove pipes coming out of them but I think they are moved couple times in their life time.

Send pictures if this project is successful Wayne

  3. I guess I am to blame for this whole conversation, I should have put it in the correct category . Why I was asking and thought the conversation would have went more towards, "Do I really need another coach" "wants vs needs" came I really afford a top of the line rig! Well a 350K coach would cost Approx. 500k Cnd, the insurance would be approximately $ 900.00 on every 100k, buying something 20 years old for that kind of money and having to do a possible updates,  new learning curve, How long will I be able to drive

Many questions in regards to buying another rig.

I really appreciated the comments Gary and everyone else made.

  4. Gary

    I really appreciate your response.

Northern Ontario winter has been very kind to us this year , no complaints considering what is going on around the world. Marathon coach, best of the best ! We have been entertaining the Idea of a Marathon and or other Prevost conversions , we have had some talks back and forth with Marathon (Oregon) in regards to many used coaches in their inventory, so in saying that listening to someone like yourself with the knowledge and experience helps me (everyone reading) to make logical decisions. A friend of mine owned my coach for 14 years prior to me purchasing it 4 years ago. Going with plan B, it has never been out in the sun unless it is on the road, 100k miles, going to spend 50k on end to end, updating/repairing little things and call it a day. I know the coach pretty much end to end.

    Thanks again Gary

  5. Frank's pictures are fantastic! Pulled my trays out this spring and if you would have seen them you would have said get the torches ! I used the rust remover, pressure washer, used the proper steps for applying POR - 15 (brushed it on) after everything was dry I started to lubricate the slides on the trays for a week or so before I put the batteries back in. Looks like brand new! The hard finish with the POR - 15 is amazing. I also have the Duracell Batteries , will be four years coming up and have added distilled water twice. Coach is always plugged in.

  6. Air ride suspension,  fantastic ride! I am a little late to post but I was thinking about what has been said while I was traveling. I have driven logging trucks in Northern Canada and you could imagine the conditions and the large amount of weight that we are able to carry in - 40 temperature,  air ride tractor and Trailer, very seldom blowing an air bag and when it does happen just change the one bag. So my question is why change ALL the bags on the coach? If you have the means too and I do appreciate the preventive maintenance concept.

Is there something I am missing, Air Bags can go for a very long time, I asked our client (logging, construction, mining) certified safety inspection shop, they do all my general service, have them go underneath and tell them to find something wrong, I have asked about airbags and they say everything looks good, enjoy! Beautiful coach!

    Thanks Wayne

  7. If you have front disk brakes ,on each of the Caliper's (each front wheel) and you shine a light in through the rim you will see two small hole's on each end of the caliper. Spray some Anti rust (Free) is what I use ,do not spray on the disk or pads holes only, on my 99 the right side front is part of the parking brake which will stick if not maintained. I lubricate those slides on the caliper couple times a year.

I would read through all the other posts carefully and then make my decision, that's what I did Months back and then made the decision to go with coach glass, will never have to take the window out again unless it is smashed out.I do not need the original window anymore, I do not travel with my coach in extreme temperature's, that why mine leaked, traveled from pan handle /Yuma Arizona to Canada - 23 Celsius / - 10 f No problem staying in it overnight with generator/ aqua hot and engine heat on but those days are over.

  10. Thank you Sandy

If you could imagine we are living 6 hours North of Twin Cities now, we are relocating to Twin cities,  just want a spot to leave the coach out of the snow and salt so we can have the odd weekend getaway,  we are both tri athletes and need our cycle /Run fix often other than indoor training.I see Kansas has many bike trails , I been looking at some of the long term sites, will be hit and miss unless someone knows of a  good spot where it can be left unattended.

    Really appreciate your help

Once we get back to normal and whatever that would look like it will be left in Texas and aircraft to travel.

    Thanks Sandy

  11. It is a silly question but sometimes we miss the obvious, sure someone did not fill the main tank of the aqua hot and fill the overflow tank as well when it was cold?!?heating it up will boil it out somewhere!

Let us know the verdict so we can share

    Thanks

  12. When my Aqua hot is off and cold the overflow clear jug is low, when it is hot the jug is full but never over flows, when I serviced it last fall I just filled the aqua hot to the top ,put the rad cap on and that's it.I had a zone relay RE placed by Rudy Legett in Livingston TX, he is a great guy and gives great advise - 713 818 3234

    Hope this helps
