Well thank you. I will need to look harder. I guess I wasn't putting in the correct keywords.

A couple of years ago I had a fireplace insert installed under the salon TV, the electric element provides more than enough heat in the coach.

I know an electric would be nice but the feel and enjoyment of a true wood burning stove just makes the night in winter, while enjoying hot chocolate with the family or watching a movie or tv show with the wife.

Never heard of these before. What model are you looking for? I assume these are for outside a coach! Dumb questions since looking them up.

I am looking for a cub or the grizzly which ever, i am just tired of using my propane furnace to heat my rv as it uses soooo much fuel. They are for inside. But they are designed very well and i feel safer with it than the furnace and the norcold fridge.

I would suggest you talk to; https://www.truckspring.com/   They are a firestone Stocking dealer for air springs[air bags]. many coach owners have had success with the firm.

Will do. Hopefully they can tell me which model as mine have lost all info on them.

If (and that's a big if) the Diplomat is the same as my '02 Signature, those bags are manufactured by Firestone and a couple others.  Availability will be the bigger concern.  If you still have your owner's manual the Monaco number will be listed in there and then you can cross-reference to other brands.

Will do. If not hopefully i can find a brand that makes a similar model that would work.

I have no idea if this will help you but I have a similar wire to the gray jacketed one in my coach that the PO installed. It appeared to connect to a Remco lube pump for his Toad.  Other than that, I can say that open ended wire plugs have always bothered me, but unfortunately most cars come wired prepped for all the options w wiring harnesses that are not used.  I guess it is cheaper to have everything wired ready for the add on even if they weren't added on. Such as heated seats.

yea, I just wish they labeled them so I could put the addon in instead,

If you take your volt meter and check pin 5 and its 12 volts all the time

turn on your ignition and pin 4 is 12 volts when the key is on

and pin 1 is ground then that plug likely leads to a trailer brake controller that is not installed on your unit.

    where is this at?

I can feel your pain! I had an issue with some burnt wires on my 2007 Beaver Patriot.  I was lucky enough to find the schematics and from there, with hours of study, I figured out how my brake lights worked.

Look closely in your second image.  You will find that each white wire is marked. Two that I can read are Ignition and Exhaust Brake.  Those markings are also on the schematics.  Each modular connector has a number in the schematics with the pinout and labels...unfortunately the modular connectors are not marked with a number.

Most of the circuits are a simple relays so you can follow the signals from the battery through a fuse to some some trigger signals such as a brake light signal and then you will find a path from the battery to ground through the main circuit.

Take plenty of pictures to remember what went where and you can always add more labels for the next time.

There are lots of arm chair electricians following this site to help diagnose the problems you are having. Just ask some specific questions with clear photos and you will get an answer.

Don't give up! Remember there are only 2 ends to a wire.

Thank you, and I did see those, I was meaning the black connector with red wires. I hunted it down but it goes through a loom of other wires shortly after the connector and is lost. There is no printed information on the wires either.

    1 hour ago, Gary_Curtis said:

In photo 2 it looks like the red connector is for an option that you might not have. It may drive a micro-switch to break the flow of 12 volts. Like when you open your door the step light would come on, or a switch to control a lamp in the electric compartment... could be a lot of things.

in photo 3, the white 4 pin modular connector is very common in RV components. Usually the connector connects to a pc board the contains a 4 pin bosch style relay.  The white wires will have a signal printed on them to give you the idea of the what circuit it is driving.

in photo 4, the black connector is where you would plug in a Bosch style relay. You would have to look at the back and see what signal wires are there to determine what the relay is for.  Could be something like daytime driving lights that are not needed in US but are there for Canada.

in photo 5, that looks like a connector for your electronic brake controller. Is your motorhome wired to tow a trailer?

photo 2, That's not what I was hoping for, I very much hate having extra connectors for no reason especially when the connector isn't on a schematic, labeled, or connected to something.

photo 3 I have seen this connector a lot across this RV especially in the dash components. I was hoping it is was for a heat pump or something. I was really hoping someone with the same Monaco or similar had a picture or wiring diagram that included all these wires.

photo 4, I do know it's for a relay, I just do not have it in my schematics.

photo 5, funny you say this and then ask about the modded wiring in a later post. I will answer all together.

    1 hour ago, Gary_Curtis said:

In photo 1, the yellow connectors are not standard...someone has tapped into a signal to drive some accessory.  Where does that white wire go that loops through the box and out the the top and the same for the black wire out the bottom? The grey jacketed wires are not standard automotive wire either. Someone has modded the electronics along the way.

Continuation from my statement of photo 5, The RV from what I know isn't wired for a brake controller, they have a combiner on the back to simplify the rv brake connections down to the 4 pin connection that most trailer use. Then someone prior to me used the grey jacketed wires in photo 1 to add the ability for a 7 pin connector on the back end of the rv, with the ability to use a brake controller. The grey wiring is going away, I am rewiring it to go to a actual fused, pinned point on the board and to a normal ground. this will allow for cleaner look... unless someone knows more about that connector and can tell me that it's for a brake controller. Lastly hopefully they can tell me where those wires lead to.

  7. My main distribution panel on my Monaco Diplomat looks like a drunk person built it. I have three or four connectors I have no idea where they go or if they go to anything. Also I have just a messy box. Any information would be great. I looked on my schematics but just like the rest of this RV, nothing is marked with number codes or stickers.

  8. Thank you. and yes I saw that same website. I was hoping that someone had a bit more knowledge as two what exactly it does. I noticed that the heater/ a/c controls are from a 90s ford so was hoping that there was a correlation between them and this.... but thank you for the help I really do appreciate it. I did know that it would be obsolete but even if it wasn't, the board doesn't come with the connectors that are connected to it.

  9. I have a question as I am trying to fix what a rat ate. I have an on going post on here about the restoration of my 1999 monaco diplomat and am working on the dashboard. The wonderful rats that decided to eat the wiring felt the need to eat the wires about as close to the connectors as possible. I am having to replace a few connectors and a board that I have no idea on. The board has some numbers on it, 305-2537 REV D and what I found it to be was a servo controller. I just do not know what it is for. Any help would be awesome. Thank you all.

  10. I had removed my two front seats from the RV, not the captain chairs, and the seats were damaged and worn but these stands are good and useable. I am just looking for some to take them off my hands but if not they will most likely go to the scrap yard. I am hoping to get like $10 for them. I am in Junction City, KS.

That's odd that it would still be on headlightsdepot.com's website, and I believe it is outdated information.

Since 2006, the US DOT has allowed LED headlamps to be used in production vehicles in the US (With the Lexus LS600h being the first vehicle produced for the US with all LED lighting).  My wife's 2013 Lexus ES300h came from the factory with all LED lighting, including headlights, as did my 2017 GMC Canyon Denali...  I can't imagine either Lexus or GMC would violate Federal regulations.  I researched this extensively back in 2009 for my Honda Pilot.

My guess is that headlightsdepot.com puts that old regulation, plus the requirement that LED headlights be used for "off-road purposes only"  on their site as a "C.Y.A." for those who replace standard 800-1600 lumen halogen headlights with much higher output LEDs.

All of that said, high output LEDs (Likely with a different focal length than the halogen bulb the reflector was designed for) coupled with poorly aimed, cheap aftermarket headlights found on many RV's can create a lot of glare for oncoming drivers.

Most likely they do not want us using the LED in the old halogen cases as the lenses are inefficient and are unable to scatter the light in the right direction. LED's are good for projection or reflector style headlights not the reflector with the scatter lens on them. I have LED's on most of my other vehicles but they all use a clear lens. Even my military equipment has a clear lens with either a projector or a reflector in them.

The true "snow belt" really starts south of Watertown.  Getting around Evans Mills you might find a farmer that has quit farming and sold some of his fan land for house lots.  So maybe he has an empty barn/tool shed that could provide some servere weather protection.  As cold as it will get, you won't have water + sewer hooked up anyway.  Maybe an unused hay barn close to the milk house, and might find full phase (both legs) in the breaker box as hot water heater/milk cooler/vac pump/gutter cleaner/etc would have had nice demands.

Just a crazy idea thinking outside the box, but I would probably try to get base housing.

    Fwiw

Yea... it's starting to look that way. The wife is more inclined to even leave Martha here now and come back in June to pick her up.

Can you secure a site on base?

Some of these facilities are nicer than civilian.

Securing a site on post is a no go. The on post rv lots are seasonal and they do not allow you to stay there for more than 60 days.

I think you will be hard pressed to find anything there. Even the base park is only May to Oct. It is VERY cold and windy during the long winter months at Fort Drum! You will find it hard to keep an RV close to warm even with propane heat running the whole time (not to mention, very expensive) and the water pipes will freeze. That's why they all close mid October. In the whole state of Vermont, I think there are only two or three places that try to stay open during the winter. Upstate NY will be the same thing. And if you do find something, be prepared to shovel off your roof of deep snow. Watertown area is notorious for lake effect snow! Good luck finding something . .

Thank you. But unfortunately, it seems the wife would rather live in on post housing even though we miss being full timers. I truly believe I can make Martha hot and toasty in the winter and be fully self sufficient without the need to bundle up inside as that is her biggest scare.

  13. So I am looking at my headlights and they are very dim. Plus they are yellowed out and just not what I am going for in this RV. Since I am remodeling the inside, I might as well remodel the out as well. I have an 08 Suburban that I have already done a headlight upgrade too and kept the originals for when or if I ever sell her. Well today I was looking and you wanna know what? The Suburban original headlights are just about the right size, now yes there is a bit of a difference and there will need to be a bit of hacking and sawing to get them to fit but they are almost spot on. The only foreseable problem is the extra plug-ins. Also they are a bit thinner than the originals width wise. So I will need to fill in a bit of the difference. What do you guys think?
