  1. It is a violation of code to connect to city water systems without a check valve.  What if you had mold or disease in your tank and you sent it to the guy parked next to you becasue you do not have the safety feature of a backflow preventer?

  3. This filter can be wall mounted anywhere in the coach, and the cartridges are standard 4.5"x10" available at most outlets (HD, Lowes, etc.)  I mounted in the adjacent bay, with a backer plate for vibration resistance.  Use Pex-B because vibration may crack CPVC or PVC if not perfectly strapped down.

I use a 10 micron sediment filter and 5 micron carbon (coconut) filter and depending on the water you either get 6 mos. or less per set.

  4. Without a Soft Start, the current required to start the AC motor approaches 34-35 Amps., then settles down in the 11-14 Amp range.

Most breakers can handle this brief surge, but aging components can cause a trip.

With a soft start kit or option installed the current to start is more in the 18-20 Amp range. with a longer spike but still within the capabilities of a breaker to handle without tripping.

Because the running current is 11-14 Amps, a qualified engineer would specify 12 gauge wire for this application.  I am certain you will find 12 gauge in your coach.

Sorry, "if I recall correctly." I thought with this group acronyms were pretty familar. I still haven't figured out what the frequently-used "DW" means.... Dear Wife maybe?

    Deer wife is correct.                                                            😆

  6. The final solution for me is the Line-X spray on truck bed liner.  You can match the color or use black.

There are some DYI kits available on Amazon (Raptor).  You will have to scuff the clear coat to get better adhesion.  Watch your over-spray.  Lots of work.

To remove the adhesive, use oven cleaner, but be careful as it will attack any adhesive it makes contact with.

  7. Sounds structurally sound.  If you choose to use 1" construction screws to keep the squeaking down, try dipping them in epoxy before installation.  This will help keep any moisture from getting in and keep the screw from backing out.

Wouldn't it be nice if coach makers would use better subflooring to eliminate these repairs?  I would gladly trade the marble and tile (and grout, weight) for luxury vinyl tile with a good base.

Water is an issue that far off the road.  Some the house/lots next to me are on well water.  1000ft up the road from me there is "city" water but it would cost me an arm and a leg to have that line extended and I would also have to pay the previous homeowners who had to have it installed that far.

But the property I built on has an old zinc mine under some of the property and I have two old 6" exploration holes that go into the mine, the water elevation in the hole I have my well pump is ~165' down to the water.  Two other property owners get water from the mine.

One of the neighbors two doors down had a 1000' deep well, YIKEs. but they had to go that deep to hit decent water.  He had his well pump fail ~2 years ago and it cost him +$7500 to bring in a company just to replace the pump.   Another neighbor is ~150' down but it doesn't have good recovery, it will run of water when they try and water the grass.  So even though E TN gets lots of water it's hit or miss when drilling a well.

A pump having to lift 1,000 ft. will be stressing.  Maybe put 2 pumps in-line in case one fails next time.

  9. If you ever run Ethernet cable under the chassis or exposed to weather conduit is not necessary.  You can zip tie this cable as you go.

I use direct bury rated burial cable as it has a sheath that is weather and UV resistant.

If you are running power over Ethernet, use 23 gauge.  https://www.amazon.com/Cables-Direct-Online-Ethernet-Network/dp/B0B39FTLTV/ref=sr_1_3?crid=B3007H23KUE0&keywords=direct+burial+cable+cat6+23+gauge&qid=1702649974&sprefix=direct+burial+cable+cat6+23+gauge%2Caps%2C81&sr=8-3&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.17d9e15d-4e43-4581-b373-0e5c1a776d5d

  10. Somewhere between 98-118k depending on condition and how it shows, mileage, service history.

If it is not in good shape you could get less.  Allow a discount of up to 20% if you don't want to bring it into top shape.

    per NADAguides:

Now there is only one rig on RV Trader and he is high, very high.

Get good pictures, use a good camera (minimum 1080P)  Take time to describe the rig as if you were buying it.

    Good luck!

  11. We advertised our coach in RV Trader and people came from all over the country to look at it.  The 3rd look made the purchase.

We did not park it in public.  Because it was in good condition we got asking price, but during inspection found a few items to repair ~$10,000.

This is typical if you don't use it enough to know its condition as in our case.  Our daughter and son-in-law had taken it over for the last 5 years.

Still walked away with $$$ so very satisfied.

  12. You could replace the carpet on the riser with the same flooring material and use one of the many stair nose products available.  That extra vertical tab is to hide the fasteners, but if you used stainless steel round nosed screws it would look nice.
