I installed the Samsung myself in the campground. Took me a few days because I was working by myself but it was a relatively easy install. See the link below for steps and pics of the installation process....Dennis      https://executive45pbq.blogspot.com/2014/06/samsung-refrigerator-install.html

@Bob Jones it's best to measure your current fridge and opening and then compare those measurements to the measurements of the fridge you desire.   Those dimensions are on the website where you want to buy the fridge.  Equally important is the air flow space requirements on the top and sides which is also listed. Most of us w the furnace underneath have used slotted steel braces and marine plywood to create a new, sturdy floor for the new fridge, so that may need to be done.  I had some rot and Mildew to fix too.

    Hi Steven,

Nice install crafted very well. I am preparing to embark on my own conversion in a couple of days and like you have furnace underneath norcold I've been looking at several videos for resources all have been helpful. My question did you have to drop furnace? if so, how did you manage to line up exhaust leading to the outside cover plate? My only other question what did you do for your power source? I appreciate your time I realize this was last years project but hopefully you can help. Thank you so much

    Kind Regards,

    Will

William, indexing, or the ability to clock /rotate the starter motor in relation to the mounting holes.   If you look on my second picture, you can see a 5 threaded holes.  While the starter is out of the coach you can remove and adjust as necessary.   My solenoid pack is really close to the block, but I did get it to work.  Wasn't until my final install picture that I noticed it could be indexed.

Ah...got it thanks for explanation I can move forward with project. Thanks

  3. Thanks Mike

I have been putting this off but with travel season around the corner I better get on it. I do have a question what is indexing? How to..?

Replaced my 99 Windsor 8.3l with a Remy 8200433 39MT.  Word of advice,  the new starter is indexible.  Wish I knew that before I started.  One of the connections was a pain in the ass! 5 minutes to index would have saved me an hour or more of cussing lol!

Seriously look into replacing with a Denso gear drive starter...less than $200 and spins a engine faster than the Delco you probably have.

    Dick,

Thanks for advise I will start my research I will definitely start to look into this as soon as possible shouldn't be that difficult of a project I hope.

Does the starter relay clunk when the switch is turned to start?  If not I would get under there with a screwdriver and short the positive terminal to the starter with the ignition turned to the ON position.  If it starts, don't turn it off till you reach your destination.

I've had to do that with the last two coaches.

    Jim,

Yeah I do hear that clunk you talk about had my wife turn key while back in engine compartment.

  9. Kenneth,

Thanks for quick response I tried battery boost toggle switch and motor will not even turn. I do have generator on right now hoping this will restore battery charge I have Duracell 8d manual shows I need 1500 cca ISL engine.

  10. Headed down south to Florida stopped by rest area #14 Pine Hurst, GA got back in MH try to start and wont turn over? Does anyone have any suggestions here are my steps leading up to this. Shut off engine wife asked to use microwave so started generator up no problems got back after a quick walk around coach shut down generator attempted to start MH and NOTHING dc multimeter was showing OL on display and quickly changed to 13.1 volts, so I am assuming not enough cranking power to turn engine over. I would appreciate any suggestions where to start. I have called Good Sam roadside for a jump start maybe this may help.

    * Note when I started up generator I forgot to switch breaker on onan 7.5 generator but microwave was still operable? Thought this would not have worked anyhow it did and I believe chassis battery may have been drained.

    What I have checked:

-battery maintainer does click and shows green active light

-had wife turn key while I was out back to listen for clicking sound from solenoid and it did

-Blue Fire does not return any fault codes

    Thank you in advance

It's explained in the videos but basically there's a safety recall for when Norcolds exceed 800F they don't burn down the coach.  The recall is an add-on mod that shuts the fridge down completely.  No codes, no display, no power, no fridge light (1st clue).  Not having or by-passing the recall mod could be catastrophic (fire, death, etc).

Here's an info sheet with a handy troubleshooting chart - https://norcold.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/635412E-SB_1200_1210_BoilerLeakCheck.pdf

    Best,

    Got it..thanks Bob
