  1. Found this on, of all places, Wal-Mart site. a little pricey but no mess and you can pump the used stuff back in to the jug or 5 gal pail etc.

I rigged mine with a extra hose so I can use the pump to pump the new oil from the 5 gal pail to the engine. Work smarter not harder.

  2. Has anyone changed the exhaust fan direction in the rear of oven?

What i want to do is have the exhaust go outside the coach where it belongs, hate that blast of air in your face.

I have ordered the outside vent and cover and am perfectly capable of cutting the hole and the whole mounting thing.

What I don't know is if I will run into any wiring cables etc in the outside wall behind the Microwave ??

  3. My 2002 diplomat with only 50K had a bad case of wandering. It would follow every rut in the road and even try to pull the wheel out of my hands.

After our first 100 mile trip I was worn out from constantly correcting the steering.

Glenn's Tire and Service in Melbourne Florida was recommended to me by a OTR trucker I know. They have been in business since 1952.

They road tested and inspected my coach and suggested the cure.

They used Safe T Plus products namely Koni shocks and a steering control unit and a complete front end alignment.

I've got to say it drives like a car now what a difference.

Glenn's is not the cheapest but they get it done right the first time and kept in touch with me the entire time.

The switch isn't always defective. There could be some lint on the switch preventing it from opening. The switch is accessible from the outside.

Got it. Dirt on the switch was the cause. Thanks for the help. I was just over complicated it.

  5. I have been RVing for way too long. I have used every thing from the porty potty in our first popup to the electric commode in our class A.

We have never put anything in the black tank that did not come from our bodies.

Most tanks range in size from 20-80 gallons depending on the RV size. That being said, the black tanks on RV"s are not septic tanks.

No amount of "additive" of any kind will have time to work to break down waste and paper before the tank fills and has to be dumped.

We have used the same House Rules as Jim does and have never had an issue with the tanks or valves.

Thanks to Vito for the tip on Dawn dish liquid to make the drains smell sweet. My wife insists on a product that CW sells at about $8/ quart but that is about to change.

I removed the rivets to repair my door latch also.  One of my dowels had worked its way out.  For reference they are an alloy steel dowel pin, 1/16" diameter by 1/4" in length.

That is exactly where I used a pop rivet to repair my latch $ .10 rivet is better than $54.95 for a new one that you have to paint!

  7. Vic;

I just repaired one of mine on a 2002 Diplomat.

There should be 4 screws on the back side of the latch that will allow you to remove the latch assembly.

Mine had a pin on the pivot point of the latch that fell out. I replaced it with a pop rivet that was the exact size of the broken pin.

Works well. I would send pictures, but it's pouring rain.

  8. I have acquired a 2002 Monaco Diplomat very well kept inside and out.

I was not satisfied with the sound coming from The Kenwood radio in dash radio with CD  changer. Before going after the radio

I found that one of the 6 speakers in the coach was not working at all. I pulled that one speaker to find out why and found that it was completely dry rotted.

The other 5 were in the same condition they made noise but not sweet. I replaced all 6 with Pioneer TS-F1634R 6.5" 200W 2-Way Speakers they fit perfectly in the grilles.

The sound is great no need to change the radio.

  9. All,

    Thanks for the tips

I just don't like things that do not work as they should or as I think they should.

The general consensus is that this is normal for this year coach so KLCDENVER the wedge under the switch wins and does not involve me crawling under this beast.

  10. I am fairly new to this but have a question.

I have a 2002 Monaco Diplomat, the air dump switch only seems to work with the ignition in the on position.

That being said when I operate the switch the air purges very slowly. In other words you would have to hold down the switch for 10 min to completely dump the system.

Is this normal? And should I even worry about it.

This is a new to me Monaco
