  1. I’m having intermittent issues with my keyless entry pad/system. I have the TriMark e-ASK and for the past two days it has been emitting the chirp sound intermittently on its own. Yesterday it was inoperable for a while then returned to normal operation. Today, other than a few intermittent chirps, it appears to be dead. I started inspecting the wiring and such yesterday, then when it started working normal, I figured it was repaired from something I moved or touched.
Has anyone had similar symptoms and a solution? I suspect low voltage or a failed part of the system.
BTW; I did not get a remote e-FOB with the secondhand coach.

  2. When I engage the Salesman Switch, it does kill the 12vdc power as you suggested. The LCD for the thermostat goes out and the Intellitec EMS display and board goes out as well. BTW, my Salesman Switch is a latching spring loaded rocker type switch.

So now I will inspect the connections on the relay. Then comes the decision to jumper or possibly replace it. I assume that if I choose to jumper it, then the only impact will be that the switch no longer functions.

  3. Thanks!

BTW; in both cases of “tripped” Salesman’s switch, the fix was to flip the switch and it reconnected the 12vdc power. Again in both cases, I didn’t do that until the following day. So there was plenty of cool down time, if in fact that was required. Both instances happened at bedtime so I didn’t go troubleshooting until the next morning.
It sounds like time to bypass the solenoid and start eliminating balusters by converting lighting.

  4. Tom thank you for both suggestions! I’ll locate then jump the solenoid. As for flickering lights; that makes perfect sense. I’ve been holding off on the LED conversion but I think it’s time to address that. I appreciate your shared knowledge!

  5. My Salesman switch tripped last night as I was attempting to turn on overhead lights. I was no where near the Salesman’s switch. 12v systems went off.
3 months ago while boondocking the Salesman’s switch tripped while I was at the bathroom sink with the water pump running.
Both times this happened without anyone near the switch. The only other possible relevant information is; my overhead fluorescent lights often flicker when the water pump is running.

    Any thoughts or suggestions?

  6. suspect that my manifold had been developing a small leak long before I heard it. I was losing boost on hills before I noticed the progressively louder squeal that almost sounded like a loose, squealing fan belt. I learned from another Monacoer that it was the leaking manifold.
Along the way I also learned not to be afraid of using the accelerator peddle. You need rpm’s and boost to tow up hills.

  7. I just replaced my ISL400, 2pc cracked manifold at Cummins Salt Lake City, October 2022. Bare manifold $780. all necessary parts $1100. Labor $2020. Yes, quite expensive and as full timers I felt that I wanted it done once and done right. Lucky for me, about 650 miles later, by chance I discovered that the two lower turbo to manifold nuts and studs either fell out or were never installed! Yikes!! I called Salt Lake service and they quickly authorized Cummins in Mesa AZ to rectify the situation. Cummins Mesa was fantastic about it and installed a new turbo gasket as well. I now have a quiet engine that gets a full 32psi boost.

  8. I’d like to further clarify my situation and ask for more feedback in case these details change anything.
I purchased the coach the beginning of January after it had been sitting indoors idle for two years. We left Boston in February to go on the road full time. On day one I was struggling on hills and made my first post on Bill D’s Monacoers. It was quickly pointed out that I should check the fuel filters. Day #2; Feb 14th had both fuel filters changed at Loves. One was clogged with heavy algae. Coach had 75595 miles at the time. I was advised to treat the fuel with Bio Kleen Diesel Fuel Biocide and keep plenty of fuel filters on hand. I probably treated the next 5-6 tank fulls and changed filters two more times. I now have 84k miles and just changed the engine filters two weeks ago. Last April after traveling from Boston to AZ, I cut open the two filters and found no algae.
The Gen fuel filter has only been changed once at 76k miles back in February. I had the air, fuel and oil filters changed at Cummins in Indy on February 17. Since then I changed oil and air filter, but not fuel. Fuel filter has 330 hours since Feb 17. As of late I have been noticing that the genny has been starting and running rougher than usual.

So my question is; does this knowledge change the recommendation to treat my fuel and run it before changing my genny fuel filter?

I still have some Bio Kleen on hand although I note you recommend JF BIOBOR and/or StarBrite StarTron Diesel fuel additive.

    Thanks for sharing your experience!

  9. Okay if I had slowed down and read my troubleshooting section without speed reading, I would have discovered that by pressing my stop switch once, I'd get the second level code. Code No 36; (Engine stopped without command by controller). Corrective Action; Check fuel level. Check Air Filter.

I have a full tank of fuel so that's out. There is about 330 hours on a new air filter and fuel filter. The generator fuel filter was changed after discovering an algae clogged primary engine fuel filter. Since I have a spare generator fuel filter and previously had the algae problem, i think i should there. I'll keep you posted.

  10. The Oman HDHAK 8000 watt, in my 06 Camelot shut down while dry camping. (3 blink fault code flashing.) Before shutting down it ran REALLY rough for about 20 seconds. I waited for flashing to clear and attempted to start it again. It fired running really rough for 5 seconds then died and flashed 3 blinks.
Any suggestions on where to start diagnostics?
I just arrived at Cummins Salt Lake City for leaking exhaust manifold condition. They want $550. for starters just to look at the generator. And they are booked for about 4 weeks on generator service.
    Thanks Ted C
