  1.  Vito is correct. My 2006 Dynasty bathroom blower is activated by the hallway thermostat by the bedroom. This is zone 2 on the thermostat. In order for that bath room blower to run the Aqua hot switch in the bath room must be on, and the thermostat for zone 2 needs to be calling for heat. This should result in the hall blower and bathroom blower activation. My config does not show a Zone 4.

  2. I believe our 2006 Dynasty's are equipped with Aqua-Hot AHE-100-04S: This model features a single 120 VAC/1650 Watt Electric Heating Element.  The AHE-130-04X: This model features two 120 VAC/2000 Watt Electric Heating Elements.

    In order to determine which of the following Aqua-Hot models has been employed, locate the Marking Plate on the Heating System and view the model number. 

     

  3. Not sure of the model AH on my 2006 Dynasty but the Monaco manual states: "AQUA-HOT (Optional) The Aqua-Hot appliance is a water heater and furnace in one. A 50,000 BTU diesel fi red burner and a 1650 Watt AC element work to heat a 50/50 solution of Propylene Glycol antifreeze and water to approximately 200º F. The heated antifreeze solution circulates through heat exchangers located within the motorhome to provide interior heat. Potable water is heated by the Aqua-Hot for domestic use. The Aqua-Hot can also preheat the engine, making it easier to start on cold mornings"

  4. The Engine loop kept the coach at the 68 degrees set on the thermostat with temps in the 20 and 30's while traveling on a very sunny day. I did not use the diesel burner while traveling but did run the dash heat some. I had 50 amps at my campground so activated 110 and diesel on the selection panel in the kitchen, the burner did run to supplement the 110 when needed. Night time temps were around 18 degrees F. We filled our water tank each afternoon and did not stay connected to Camp water to keep water supply from freezing. The aqua hot keeps the basement toasty.

  5. I just did the same thing during the Christmas week deep freeze. Coach was winterized and ran aquahot on 110, diesel and engine loop in our 2006 Dynasty. If I recall correctly, both the AH and Monaco manuals allow this practice. I cannot speak to how long your house batteries will power the AH fans as I believe this would depend on other electrical loads and the Outside Temp...Larger split inside desired to outside actual would cause the AH fans to run longer I believe. FYI the aqua hot worked great to heat the coach, only thing I noticed is that the galley fan is 4 modes, off, low mwd, high. Each speed is toggled by momentarily touching the fan switch. Th only down side, at least on my coach is that the galley fan continues to run even if no heat is being commanded by the thernostat,,,,I.E. cool air from the vents. Maybe yours is different. 

  6. Looked at the 2006 Dynasty this morning which has the intellitec system for house systems control. The Kitchen switch activates the 3 speed blower feeding the vents under the cabinet and curbside sofa. This function is available whether or not "furnace" is selected on the front thermostat or aqua hot is "on". Selecting "furnace" turns on a blower in the front dash console under the drawer even if aquahot is not "on". There is no fan speed selection at the thermostat when "furnace" is selected. It appears in order to get heat out of the aquahot heat exchanger vents under the kitchen cabinets and curbside sofa, the aqua hot must be on (110 or diesel), furnace must be selected "on" at the front thermostat and the aquhot blower switch in the kitchen must be on (3 speeds available). I'm not sure it can be configured to come on and off automatically when furnace and the desired temp is selected. That would be nice! 

  7. My 2006 Dynasty kitchen fan. . switch only comes on when activated manually with furnace selected on the zone 1 thermostat. It doesn't come on automatically if I have furnace selected. I'll try to verify tomorrow as I'm curious that the LR/ Kitchen fans must be selected manually to operate. Maybe that's what Monaco had to do to allow 3 speeds for zone 1?

  8. Ok, so I replaced the ruptured turbo coolant line so I could do some voltage checks with the engine running. With no charging input, battery voltage was 12.8 vdc at the battery and positive lead on the alternator. When I started the engine, voltage dropped to 12.4 volts and slowly decayed. I removed and replaced the alternator thus afternoon and everything is normal. Chassis batteries are charging initially at 14.2 but within 5 minutes, decays to about 13.6 -13.8 vdc. I believe the alternator corrected the charging issues as both the Genny and shore power charging are Normal. Thanks for everyone's insight and feedback.

  9. Thanks for all the feedback. When I checked alladin with the engine running after about 1/2 hour, chassis battery voltage was around 12.1 volts. After starting the Genny, it rose to about 13.8. If I understand the system correctly, I think the BIRD would have prevented the Genny from charging the chassis batteries if alternator charging was available. Unfortunately I cannot run the engine to take alternator output readings until I replace the ruptured coolant line to the turbo, see other post. Hopefully I'll get that done tonight.

  10. Took the 2006 Dynasty for a spin last night prior to my upcoming trip from Savannah to St Mary's GA. I noticed the batteries, (house and chassis) were not being charged by the alternator. I started the Genny and everything charge normally. I need to still check the alternator output at the post but it looks like it may need to be rebuilt. If I'm unable to source a new alternator or get it rebuilt, is it ok to use the Genny to charge the chassis and house batteries for my 2 hour trip to St Mary's and back? I am plugged into 30 amps at home and will have 50 amps at my camp site. Thanks, Dan

  11. Just a thought, most automotive systems have hi and low pressure switches to protect the compressor by shutting it down at specific pressures. Not sure MH systems would be different but a failed high pressure switch would allow the compressor to provide pressure that exceeds the system design, allow actuation of the pressure relief Valve as a secondary fail safe to protect the system. Unfortunately this results in refridgerent loss. May want to see if there is a hi pressure switch in the system.
