I am a fulltimer, 1200watts of solar. 

Here is my model number. 

After noticing some mold growing in the corner of my fridge, I washed and sprayed everything in there down with bleach water. I was thinking if I could add a UV strip or replace the door ajar bulb with a UV unit. Has anyone done this? What "size" is the dometic bulb anyway?

So I went down to see the generator muffler and noticed its missing a bolt. I add a bolt and theres still a problem gap. I understand im supposed to get some kind of gasket. This looks like damage, not sure if anyone knows what i could use as filler?

Can you feel if the floor is still wet??  The water damage could be old as far was when it got wet, unfortunately this type of flooring will not dry out but basically disintegrate.   You can repair it, just takes time and $$.

But you need to find out why the water pump is cycling, look in all the basement compartments and see if you can find any signs of dampness or water.  If the pump is cycling it's going somewhere. 

Yep its definitely wet, i think im taking a saw to it next weekend unless anyone has any idea where the leak might be otherwise. The hose fitting behind the fridge seems to be in the floor

That is the cooling fin drainage loom as you can see its not split

Heres inside of my slide.... and the underside of the fridge it looks like the rot is in front of the fridge and not from the slide. Directly under the fridge only has a little bit of rot

Are the pipes literally under the floor? Or should they be visible behind the walls

Looks like you have a sink in your slide, it might be the sink drain leaking.  On my coach they used a flexible drain hose that looped up and rolls back and forth as you use the slide.  This is a known problem.   The water lines do the same thing and could had a hole worn in it but you would hear your pump running if it was water line.

My guess is sink drain line.

I do hear my pump running every 5 minutes if i leave it on

Are you sure it is a pex piping leak.  Where is pex run in relation to the rotted floor.  If you pressurize the lines using the pump does the pump cycle after a long period of time?   If you have a way to plumb in a pressure gauge to monitor it won't take long to see it go down if there is a leak.  You could also try and pressurize the system with air, this is what they do on new construction, has to hold a charge for 24 hours, air will leak down faster.   If you do have a leak with air use soapy water to spray down the piping near where you think the leak is.   Back ~13 years ago on a trip I noticed that my pump started to cycle, initially very slow, maybe once an hour, then got progressively worse and ultimately found the water heater had a pin hole leak at a welded seam.

But other sources could be your ice maker water line.  I've had mine rupture, just a pin hole leak but enough to cause a problem if not fixed.  Also check the water solenoid valve, it could leak.  This can happen if it was not winterized properly. 

 

Im not sure if it is pex pipe. Where would you pressurize the system from? One of the sinks?

That’s what happened to our LaPalma. Same thing with the toilet, lots of rot, because previous owner never bothered to replace the wax ring. Also, unplug the ice maker, once you shut off the water to it. It’s a useless POS and was notorious for not working properly.

Thanks for the reply, how should i go about finding the source of the leak? Would it be at the center of the rot?

Just noticed a soft spot in front of my fridge thankfully its confined to a limited area. 1/2 pex repair and floor replacement in my future it seems. What is recommended to replace the rotted wood?

So, I've started looking at the jacks. Control panel turns on but it doesnt do anything. No sounds, accessories are on on the dash. Where do I start?

Any idea where to start diagnostics? Will provide pictures in just a minute

I've noticed when its quiet in my coach that the pump turns on for a fraction of a second every few minutes. Is this indicative of a leak somewhere?

Got the Camco installed thank you very much... I've only had nonperishables in for some time now. So I actually have 2 sets of 18g wire going from inverter to 12v. AFAIK  the 12v is only used for ignition

Close up of the two sets of wires, just something field expedient until I get a real job.

There is no compressor.  That is an absorption fridge.  It must boil the chemical media either with a propane flame or a 110 volt heating element.  That 400 watt inverter is much too small.  It would take at least 3 times that much and would kill your batteries in a short period of time.  Absorption fridges requires either shore power or propane for heat source.  They are just not practical on battery power.

Thanks I didnt know what an absorption fridge was. Im on shore power at the moment. Any idea where to check to see if its working? I think my readings here is just residual temperature from before i ran out of propane

So i've just run out of propane I guess. I thought dometics ran on 12v. To my surprise its a 2 way 110v OR propane not a 3 way 110v,12vdc, or propane. 

I rigged up an inverter, 400 watt constant 800 w peak. In the picture I have the fridge's  original 12v wire going to the inverter and routed two 18 awg wires from the inverter posts to the 12 v input on fridge.

Peak power from the fridge seems to be too much for the inverter, once the ac compressor kicks on instant overload warning. Will this set up work once the fridge is at temperature?

Anything look or sound unsafe? Perhaps inverter being so close to the propane tube?

They look similar.... will they work? If not, does anyone know of one that will?
