  1. Thank you, Gentlemen, for all of your advice. I intend to try most of them beginning with the simplest.
  2. Great ideas, guys. Thanks for the great advice! I used the little bubble levels on a Class C years ago and have a 6" that I put in the icemaker section of the freezer - just to be sure it's level as well. I kinda like the idea of the level pro, but don't really move too often. Hmmmm, maybe a Christmas gift from Ol' Dave to Ol' Dave . . . Presently in sand lands of coastal NC on a gravel site (monthly) and find myself checking the level every other day. Makes for a trip or two from level switches to level on countertop while coffee's brewing but what else am I gonna do before coffee? Ol' Dave
  3. Thanks for the prompt reply! I couldn't find anything online and kinda thought that this would be the case. We don't move around a lot, having found that it's less expensive to camp than to drive. I find that setup (and adjustments for settling) with my 2' level is pretty simple. Mostly I level the kitchen countertop and it works well enough for the rest of the coach. Have a great Holiday!!
  4. Good Morning All. As mentioned in the topic, I have a 2000 diplomat. Leveling system is manual and the bubble is significantly off when floor/counters are level (by 4' carpenter's level). I have removed the bubble assy and can find nothing that appears to be adjustable. From this point is shimming the best alternative? If so, do I shim the bubble assy, or the carbon fiber plate onto which it is fastened? I do loathe to mess with the carbon fibre as it is beginning to crack around the screw holes.
  5. Very, very helpful, thank you for taking the time!! I would never have thought about looking for damage from the rollers. If I'm going far enough to inspect/maintain the slide mechanism, it will be well worth my time and energy to disassemble and inspect the entire assembly. I am retired, have the time, and still have the energy to address these things. Presently the heat (dog days) is a big hindrance but will likely pass by mid Sept. I have gone to great lengths to insure this coach is as reliable as one can make a 20+ year old RV. Our overall plan is to leave NC and tour our national treasures (whilst bypassing the tourist traps). I will keep you apprised of progress. Again, thank you for your insights, Dave
  6. Thank you for the kind and prompt reply. I will follow up and reply (with pics). Although there are no issues with operation, I am completely restoring our RV and have had problems with slideouts on other coaches.
  7. I have a 2001 Diplomat 40 and would like to lubricate the bedroom slide moving mechanism but don't know how to access it. Can't find any info in the manual, can't see the mechanism from underneath and am loathe to disassemble the bed if not needed. Ideas?
