I’d consider replacing the front AC with a 15000 BTU unit but have seen posts that say (1) it will need a new 10 button thermostat and (2) that may or may not be doable if I don’t change the bedroom AC. Any insight?
We just replaced our front A/C with a Brisk Air II 15000 unit and still use our old thermostat and we didn't change the bedroom A/C.

Still only ABC and CW have been affected. I won't waste my time calling to inquire because what will be will be. I would never consider switching to Dish because I am sure they are in the same situation. If it is canceled, I will live with it.
Tony
We switched to Dish last December and have had no problems with changing our service address or getting new local channels.

Our coach didn't need the kit to strengthen the front cap so yours might not either. Our cabinets also didn't have to be removed. Check with your insurance company because ours picked up the cost of the windshield except for our deductible. We did have to pay for the fiberglass work.

We also have an '06 Monaco with a 1-piece windshield. We had 4 windshields crack in 5 years in the same corner and last year had fiberglass work done to permanently fix the issue. They removed fiberglass in one corner and added more on the other side. I would suggest you have a windshield dry-fit before being replaced and they can tell you if it's a problem with the end cap. Good Luck! It was not a cheap fix and Monaco will be no help to you.

We also use the TSD card and Passport America as much as we can.

Ron, I double-checked with my husband and his program is called CoPilot v9 laptop. He runs it on his windows laptop using the receiver from his old DeLorme and with his internet off.

My husband used Delorme until a year ago and now uses CoPilot on his laptop. He really likes it and it doesn't need an internet connection while traveling.

Oh, sorry I thought we were talking about dish for the Motorhomes, which is Dish Outdoors.
We live full-time in our motorhome but still have a Hopper.

It is an app on your phone: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dish.mydish&hl=en
Yes, I'm familiar with the app but with my Hopper DVR Customer Service tells me it's not available. I believe it's only with Dish Outdoors.

The Hopper doesn't give me that option.

We switched from DirecTV to Dish over a year ago and it's been working great. Even though we only have the motorhome we went to a Dish dealer and bought a Hopper with Sling and I just used the address of the park we were currently at. We wanted the Sling feature that the Dish Outdoors didn't provide. We signed up for the Flex Pak with local channels which was a lot less than we were paying with DirecTV. The only drawback is when switching to new local channels I have to use the Chat on their web site or call but I always get someone who understands English which is the opposite of my experience with DirecTV.

We switched to Dish a year ago and have a Hopper with Sling that works great. Many use the 'pay as you go' feature using a different DVR.

Thanks for the information. Does his business have a name and web site?

We've had good luck with Blink cameras. They only use data when actively recording something and we have one facing the door and one between the kitchen and bathroom facing the front. When we had work done on our coach it was great to see and hear what the technicians were doing inside.

Chris, I want to thank you so much for all you've done for the RVing community. Your knowledge and support has been invaluable and we look forward to seeing you again at the rallies. Congratulations and you certainly deserve to spend more time doing what you want.

Replacing Gas Cooktop
in Appliances
Posted · Edited by sheena154
We replaced ours with a double induction cooktop five years ago and it's worked great. He used an extension cord to plug into the washer/dryer outlet and we had a granite piece installed to cover the area now vacant so everything lays flat. One bonus is that we now have space underneath to hold the stove and sink covers.
