  1. I have an intermittent warning light when the coolant temp goes to 191 degrees or above. ISC8.3 engine normal temp 189 degrees. New radiator ,cac , water pump, thermostat, hoses installed 2 years ago. Have had problem before and after. Wiring diagram shows coolant temp sensor only wired to temp gauge and not to ecm. It shows warning light coming from ecm. How does the ecm gets coolant temp info ?

  2. Mr. Ambassador ,

They took it to spring service for the rebuild. I don't know if that is the name of the company. Carolina Upstate Diesel can tell you. Phone # 864-655-4446. The rebuild was $820. The repair shop had to torch the bolts to get them off as they were frozen. I did not have hardly any play before and none now. Coach has 130,300 miles on it. The pothole cracked a seal.

  3. Reported earlier about hitting a giant pothole in South Carolina on I85N. I was towed by a very good tow driver to Carolina Upstate Diesel in Greer,SC. They were backed up on work for 5 days but had my MH fixed on Feb 21st.I picked it up on the 24th. They removed the steer box and had it rebuilt locally. It works like a dream. This shop mainly works on MH chassis and engines. Luckly for me to find them as we were stuck in a rest area for 3 nights. I highly recommend them.

P.S. They charged me $1,744 for the work. Very friendly and a delight to do business with them.

  4. As I reported earlier on this subject there is a pot variable resister on the back of the speedometer. It is black and has a screwdriver slot in it. Mark its position and rotate the pot back and forth to clean the resistor. Move it back to original position.

  5. I have a 2000 Dip and finally fixed the speedometer from being all over the place. On the back of the gauge there is a black pot with a screw driver slot. I marked the position of the slot. I then used a screwdriver to turn the pot back and forth to clean the variable resister. Speedo has now been working great for a year. Also the tach has a variable pot on back which also cleaned by moving it back and fourth.

  6. My 2000 Dip's low fuel light comes on when I am down to 15 Gal. I have never trusted the fuel gauge. I go by the odometer. My fuel mileage is 8.1 miles/gal since I bought it new. 100 gal x8 =800 miles. I refuel around 500 miles. 7000 miles on a primary fuel filter is really pushing it.
