  1. Here is how I set up mine. I started by upgrading my inverter from the Zantrex RV2022 to the Freedom 3012 so I could have more charge profile options and a pure sine wave. Then I bought two battleborn batteries on sale to replace my 4 old 6 volt deep cycle lead acid batteries. With some good advice and research I replaced the trickle charger and bidirectional relay with a dc to dc charger and an Amp-L-Start. The dc to dc charger limits the load on the alternator to 30 amps while charging during driving. The Amp-L-Start charges the chassis battery from the house batteries. I the added two more battleborn batteries on sale for a total of 4-100 Amp hours. I also installed 2 355 watt residential solar panels and a Victron 100/50 solar controller. It’s always a work in progress.

  2. Here are the pictures of our refrigerator replacement. Our old Norcold 1200 was still working and we were able to sell it to help offset the cost of the replacement. Both the old and new went through the front door, I removed the copilot seat and door. I was lucky and my furnace was not under the fridge. I removed the fold down door and lowered the fridge floor. After the test fit I put stop blocks in front of the rear wheels to keep the fridge from rolling forward. I also turned the front leveling feet backwards so the didn't protrude outward and was still able to level the fridge in the opening. Then we screwed blocking to the frame to keep the fridge from tilting forward and jumping the wheel stops. It's a very solid install. The old bottom door was cut to fit and is now on top. Last installed was the Fridge fixer. I bought the fridge from Costco and took five weeks to deliver.

There's a 10kw Onan HDCAA, a Xantrex Freedom 3012 with the SCP. I've looked around the coach and I don't see anything there as far as AGS. Does anyone have a recommendation for a AGS system?  It looks like Xantrex sells one that compatible with Onan at a fairly inexpensive price.

    Thanks in advance...

If you replaced the RV2012 with the Freedom 3012 and SCP. The auto start was part of the RV2012, The Freedom 3012 and SCP require the addition of the AGS to be added to the Zanbus network for the auto start of the gen set. There are many wires in the AGS for many functions but you only need a couple the rest aren't needed. Once the AGS is networked all the programing is done in the SCP. The SCP menu will populate when it sees the AGS in the network, otherwise you can't see it. My AGS is behind my inverter under the transfer switch. I ran a new network cable up front to the SCP but they do sell adapters so you can use the original network wire.

  4. Ivan, I installed the Victron BMV-712 in the electrical bay next to my battery compartment. I made my own cable for the monitor and ran it to the cabinet where my inverter controls are. That was a chore. The Bluetooth comes from the monitor so no issue for me. If you opt for the model that has Bluetooth and no display it could be an issue to get signal to the pilot. I have a DC to DC smart charger and I rarely see the signal up front, My mppt solar controller sometimes has issues with the signal as well. As long as I know the SOC I'm good. I learned a lot when putting this stuff in. My system works great for me.

  5. We went through RIS / Blue Sky - RV Insurance. They are a broker that was recommended to me. They ended up quoting us a Safeco policy. We are not full timers but this policy was cheaper than USAA and Progressive.

To center the steering wheel on a Monaco you open up the plastic around the base of the steering column, remove the pinch bolt on the u-joint, drop it down, center the wheel, pull it up and re-insert the bolt.  Takes about 10 minutes.

Mike McHughs is correct, easy and you don’t have to adjust linkage.
