Did you buy a lottery ticket?

Lol, not yet. I did see that I might try and tighten the bolt from the top engine compartment. It will be a long reach and I am probably going to have to stand/lay on the top of the engine to be able to reach it but I have to wait for my brother-in-law to mail it to me. Oh, and Happy New Year to everyone🍾

The top bolt is tough to get loose, but can be done with a bit of creativity

If feel like I won the Lottery. I replaced my starter three or four months ago and I really struggled with that top bolt getting it off and getting it back on. I used all types of socket swivels and extensions and knew I didn’t get that top bolt back on as tight as the bottom two but I thought it was good enough. Fast forward to my trip this week. We were camping with my wife’s sister and her husband, they have a Motorhome as well and we’re next to us. We ended up leaving a couple of days before them so after are 400 mile journey back home my brother-in-law texted me with a picture of a bolt he found right under where are motorhome was. I was like WTF that looks just like one of the starter bolts so I immediately went out to checked and sure enough the top bolt is missing. The starter was not loose at all because the other two were still just like I put them on so thank god for that. So what are the odds that I traveled 800 miles and it happened to fall out right when I started it the morning I left. We really bounced around in some construction zones and bumpy highways but didn’t fall off then the fact my brother in law was walking his dog and just happened to find it. I would have never known it had fallen out. So. Make sure those bolts are tight. I’m going to play the lottery tonight I feel lucky.

  3. Just a follow up on my water tank filling up. I ended up replacing the water pump and it solved the problem just like Larry. I ended up going with this water pump from Latch.it  and so far it has worked great. Even though it’s 3.5 gpm compared to the original at 5.5 its seems just the same output. It is definitely quieter than the old one and it only uses 7 amps max. It only took about 15 min to install so I will see about the longevity of it and it’s a U.S. company.

  4. I had this same thing happen on my previous Motorhome. I went to have it filled and it poured out from underneath, scared the crap out of me.
I was very lucky there wasn’t a spark or something to ignite it. I disconnected the old hose and took it to a shop that made hydraulic hoses and they made me a brand new hose with the correct ends matching the old hose. From what I remember it wasn’t to expensive.

Are those oil lines crossing over the alternator?

No, they are hydraulic lines for the fan. I’m getting two ways of thinking on this issue. Some are saying that if the oil dipstick cap came off that oil will come out and that’s normal others are saying it’s positive crank case pressure from a blocked breather tube. The weather has been raining here so I haven’t been able to check any further but hopefully today I will be able to look further.

  6. So I am on a trip at a campground and noticed oil droplets on the the back of the motorhome. I opened the rear hatch and found oil sprayed on the left side of the engine. I went to check the oil and the dip stick was partially out. I then noticed that all the oil seems to be around and below the dip stick opening. Can oil come up the tube like that? I checked the oil before I left and I always make sure the dip stick is seated back on. Now when you try and tighten the head of the dip stick it won’t seat it just comes out real easy. I guess something is wrong with the rubber grommet at the end or something. I assume as you tighten the head of the dip stick it’s supposed to wedge the rubber grommet?    Btw Merry Christmas

  7. Did you double check the roof running lights? They are a prime suspect's. On my previous Motorhome I had the same symptom of water leaking on to the dashboard and I went on the roof and checked but couldn’t find anything then I saw some moisture on the inside of one of the lenses. It was hard to see but that ended up being the problem.

  8. I went over today to double check some things because it’s getting down to 24 here in Georgia tonight and the ABS light does come on for a few seconds then goes out so I assume the ABS system is functioning correctly. As I said previously if the ATC system was malfunctioning I would think the ABS system would be affected as well since they are using the same speed sensors. I have seen people talk about an abs board but not sure if there is an atc board. I looked in the wiring diagrams and couldn’t find anything on either system. I’m just thinking I might be chasing something that doesn’t need fixed but I’m just not sure.

Also I have seen suggestions of adding a leak sealer to the system

I think someone recently on the site used this product to seal a leak in there Aquahot system. If yours is just dripping it might be worth a try. I tried to find it but couldn’t. I think they said it fixed it pretty quick and it’s been a while and no leak since.

  10. So it sounds like according to my manual that the light stays on all the time until an “event” happens. I agree it doesn’t make sense that they would make the ATC system in the same year act differently between models. I don’t know what to think now. I am getting ready to go on a trip next Sunday and I am going to try and see what happens with the atc light when I press the switch on and off to see if it blinks or goes out or something. I’m also going to make sure my abs light comes on momentarily when I turn the key on like Ivan suggested.

  11. I found this in the owner’s manual about the atc light. I sounds like it’s saying it should stay illuminated at all times and blink when there is wheel slippage or when an event occurs. So I wonder if there is even anything wrong.
    ATC Indicator Light:
During normal operation, the ATC indicator light will illuminate steady when the ignition key
is turned ON. If an ATC event occurs, the indicator light will fl ash quickly. The indicator light
will fl ash slowly if the ATC switch is activated.

  12. We have been looking to upgrade our furniture for sometime. We had a sleeper sofa on the passenger side and two chairs (not original) on the driver side slide out. The chairs didn’t really match to well. My wife found a guy near us selling his furniture out of his 2022 Newmar Essex. It was basically brand new furniture. The slide out sofa has power foot rests that come out which I have never seen before and the other side is a queen sleeper. Both ended up fitting perfectly in our rig like they were made for it. The only problem now is our captain chairs don’t match so we want to get them redone. I’m looking for some recommendations for an upholstery shop maybe near the Atlanta area or I would consider traveling as well.

Does the ABS light come ON for a second or two when you turn ignition ON? It should, for a lamp test

I haven’t looked for it specifically on startup being since there is so many that come on for a few seconds but I will look next time just to make sure the abs light IS working correctly.  Thanks Ivan, good place to start. I change all the fuel filters every year so I don’t think that’s the issue.

  14. No the switch is off. The atc light has been on since I bought it two years ago. I thought I read somewhere that it was supposed to be on but now from what I’m reading it’s not. My abs light came on once while driving but shut off after a while and hasn’t come back on so I assume it’s ok.

After doing some reading I see if the wheel sensors are defective or out of alignment it would cause the ATC light to come on but I would think the abs light would be on as well so I am thinking it’s something else since my abs light is off
