  1. @Frank McElroy and @Tom Cherry - Thank you for sharing your knowledge! I did not realize the other coaches in question had the Kongsberg system. Guess I'm fortunate to have the Intellitec on a 2008. Found I had already downloaded the Smartwheel Troubleshooting Guide so apparently my photographic memory is out of film. I read through it tonight though. I'll troubleshoot the controller tomorrow using the manual and see what that status is there. Again, thanks!
  2. Issue: Wipers not working Coach: 2008 Monaco Dynasty Stafford IV, Inellitec System, VIP Smartwheel. Description: My smart wheel works with the exception of the wipers, which do not work at all. Windshield washers work, lights flash, headlights all work. Actions taken to this point: Checked and changed fuses (20A and 10A) on wipers - Both good but changed to new anyway Verified I can hear / feel relay coil when pressing wiper buttons on steering wheel. Switched with known good relay of exact make / model and still no wiper operation Using a power probe, I disconnected the wiper motor (single motor in my case for both wipers), and applied ground and power directly to the motor and it operated properly. Thinking I need to add auxilary 5V power supply to VIP SM211 Question: I am thinking I would intercept wires feeding J4-1 and J4-2 and feed these two from the load side of the 12-5V DC-DC 10A power supply, fused on each side of power supply. Am I seeing this correctly? Thank you for letting me resurrect an old post!
  3. Youtube Video from 2020 when coach was sold in the past, showing generator starting hard. Did some OSINT on our coach and found two videos from 2020 when the coach was sold to the previous owner's. We are the third owner's of the bus, I believe. Anyway, the video link above shows the tech starting the generator. It starts exactly the same way now. As others have noted about their's in previous posts, when the engine is Cummins ISM is running, the genny fires right up. Is this the infamous 'hard start' issue that I've been reading about on this forum? Any input as to where to start would be appreciated. My thinking is: Clean up all battery connections at generator and house buss (pos and neg) Look at voltage drop on long battery cables. Cables seem to be #2. Wiring diagrams show 2/0. I am thinking that the cables might be too small If too small, should I run new cables back to house battery buss? I see that some have installed separate battery for starting genny. Seems overly complicated to me, but how do you charge that battery and where did you mount it? Are you happy with that arrangement? What size battery for the 10KW Onan diesel?
  4. @96 EVO and @Frank Bergamo, Thank you for your input! Maybe I need to start that Mediteranean diet my doctor keeps telling me about. 🤔 I can see that I'd have plenty of room once under there to be safe behind the genny, but my girth won't allow me to slide under from the front, so I was wondering if there was a trick to it. I'll probably use Frank's suggestion and raise the front up via 2x10 or 12's stacked, as I don't think I'd need much. Thank you both!
  5. @bryan browne, In my case, the generator slides out the front, but it does not slide out far enough for me to shimmy around to the area behind it, and I'm not sure how to safely get under the bus.
  6. Mike! My name is Jonathan. Thank you for the excellent write up and the video as well! I have essentially the same generator. Would you mind sharing with me how you safely accessed the back side of the generator? Do you air up and the slide under or do you use jacks / stands? I have to slide under mine to tend to the corroded battery connections on the back side, but I don't seem to come close to squeezing under, even when aired up. Wondering how you get under there, if you don't mind sharing. I'm brand new to my 2008 Dynasty. Thanks!
  7. Relatively new owner here, new to Monaco, living full-time in two weeks. Quick background: Previously owned 2000 Fleetwood Discovery and lived in it for two years while working in south west. My background is in electrical, but mostly power distribution and airport lighting, though some experience in electronics and have some PC and programming skills. Changed out L16 FLA Interstate batteries today with Trojan 435aH 6V FLA. Old batteries were 4yrs old, not maintained and took 3 gallons of Distilled H2O. Please disregard how dirty the coach is at this time, on the exterior ... I have been searching posts and reading the forum, which has been invaluable! I have a couple of questions: 1. How do y'all safely get underneath your coach? For example, I'd like to get to the back side of the generator to inspect and clean the battery connections, without tunneling under the coach. Is there an easier, safer way to do this on a gravel lot aka my driveway? 2. I have the infamous 10KW Onan hard start issue, which means the AGS does not always work. Utility power in my neck of the woods is not always reliable. My goal is to get the generator cranking as it should, and the AGS thus working as it should. Other than generator start cables (12V), where should I be looking next? Thank you in advance for your replies, and also for directing me to any posts I've missed that may have already covered this topic!
