  1. Thank you for the information. I will make sure to turn the city water off before using the pump. Iam glad i read that as i would have turned the pump on thinking it needed to be on.
  2. What is a good pressure for a motorhome? I am trying to go through every system on this Diplomat and water is coming up next. When you are hooked to city water, does your pump work or are you purely reliant on the water pressure or do you fill the water tank and use the pump, or i guess how this stuff work? Sorry to sound like a tard, but i am new to all of this stuff other then ensuring it works or not for inspection report for sale/auction.
  3. I have had to add wire to only 1 so far, all the ground wires are the short ones and i bought the new lights which are grounded through the body mount which doesn't work with a fiberglass shell, so i am having to run them into the back of each light and putting a screw tab (don't know the name of them) like ring on them and secure them with new stainless screws. Sometimes i don't put 2+2 together correctly, otherwise i would have looked before i ordered new ones. I drove trucks for several years so i get stuck on the steel body aspect of big vehicles and did i mention i don't do 2+2 too good most times...
  4. I inherited this 2000 Monaco Diplomat at the end of Jan 2024. When my father passed he was living in Lakeside, OR since like 1989. He had just bought this class a last year to live in and didn't really get to do anything with it as he was in and out of the hospital since he had bought it. If you don't know, which i didn't know until i spent 3 weeks there, Lakeside rains a lot. We had like three non rain days with sun, and 1 non rain day with clouds...out of 3 weeks. Everything up there including houses, has green algae, moss and mold/mildew growing on it, was nasty, and the motorhome was no exception. Anyways, the reason i am typing this... I am in the process of replacing and sealing all the clearance lights as like 4 of them worked was all. The front ones have a 1" hole in the fiberglass and wired through there with the coach insulation right there. The back ones have the same 1" hole on the cap, then like 3"s in there is another hole but smaller, like 5/8" drilled through that. The space between the 2 holes you can see the sunlight as it has a roof vent on top of back for the engine. Why would Monaco run this power feeds through that portion of the coach versus along the bottom and coming up in that vent or even a hole inside but towards the bottom where interior leakage wouldn't ever happen? Some of the things i have seen since getting this vehicle seems like Monaco wasn't concerned with leakage into the coach. Doesn't make any sense to me. Oh and it has taken me like 30-45 minutes for each back light to get the old one off and the 1/4" sealant off and exposing the wires long enough to attach the new lights. I was complaining as the front ones were taking like 15 minutes each, but i stopped that complaining after the first and second back ones.
  5. We just drove this 2000 Diplomat from Lakeside, OR to here in Oklahoma City, OK at the end of Feb. The cheapest diesel we paid was like $3.79 a gallon and most was over $4.00 per gallon. I was wanting to keep tab of it for the overall fuel price for that and the Navigator that had to come back as well, but a quarter way into the trip i decided i didn't want to know that. Oh and the route was OR to Bend, OR then south through NV and across AZ and NM on I-40, which was kind of like a Ukrainian highway, or how i imagine a Ukrainian highway is after 2 years of war...
  6. Ok with the flex seal. I had already ordered some to seal a porch light and i already have a box of new clearance lights to replace all of them. There is a spot above the windshield divider that from the ground and slightly pushing in looks like there is a gap. I will replace the clearance lights seal around them and the center spot i mentioned. Thanks.
  7. What to use to seal center top of windshield? It drips onto the dash when it's raining.
  8. I use the PL brand of poly glue. To give you an idea, if you don't know, how strong it is, i used to build loudspeakers and sub's. I used that to construct the boxes out of 1/2" or 3/4" MDF. It filled the saw imperfections as well as sealed the enclosure. I haven't built any since like 2009 and they are all fine, including the 15" sub i built that is the size of a dorm fridge. It is strong stuff.
  9. Back in the early 1990's, after i got out of the Air Force and moved back to AZ, i had a 1974 K-5 Blazer. The interior had a couple different colors from replacement parts over the years. The center console had embedded dirt, grease and who knows what else and looked horrible. So i cleaned it up real good and went to a auto parts store and bought two little spray bottles, like 1" x 4"s, that i remember as being called Vinyl Dye. Sprayed the center console and let it dry. That stuff lasted for years until i got rid of the Blazer. Went through hunting, a big Rottie climbing all over it, and daily wear and tear, and not so much as even a scratch through it. Nowadays, cannot find anything remotely like it and it would sure be handy on a few projects in this Diplomat.
  10. This is funny...just as i was wondering where my Dap Window and Doors caulk was at i read the bottom of you reply about not using a residential sealer. I ordered the clear Proflex so much appreciated your advice as residential sealer is exactly what i was going to use!
  11. Yes,, there are many available that look to be the same size. I wanted a larger light and LED for more lumens. Had i paid attention when i ordered it, i would have noticed it only had 2 holes and the nut/bolt mounting, but, here we are. 🙂
  12. For temp fix till you get home...just get the junk out from under the corner and use polyurethane glue. Put a couple tabs of that under it and weight it down to cure. Don't use too much or it will be a pain getting it up when you're able to properly repair it. The glue, if you are not aware, comes in caulk tubes and some brands label it as construction adhesive.
  13. I recently inherited a 2000 Monaco Diplomat and have been in the process of updating it. Question is, i want to install a larger porch light that is 12"s long, made of cast aluminum and has only 2 mounting holes, would the laminate siding be able to hold this securly with just 2 screws into the laminate, or do i need to figure a way to put a backing inside the side to strengthen the mount? The light came with nut, bolt and lock washers, but i am unsure how i am to reach the nuts to hold them while tightening the bolts. Thank you Dan Reeves
