Garry Donohue
My dash A/C works but the belt is way too loose. I can see the bolts but would like a step by step info on how and which bolts to loosen and then tighten?
Solution Happycarz Posted July 7, 2023 Solution Share Posted July 7, 2023 If your belt arrangement is like mine, this should help.
Garry Donohue
Yes that looks like mine. That makes it so much easier with photos. Thank you so much for your time!
Happycarz
Glad to help. A couple more pictures for you. I don’t recall if the bolt in my second picture is threaded into the bracket, or is a long bolt with nut on it. And, I stated that there was two bolts on the pivot, but it is just one long one. Garry Donohue
It was that threaded adjustment screw that had me confused. Thanks Harry.
Guest jerrygrosman
Maybe it is not loose. It was made that loose so the bearings do not have too much pressure on them. Maybe the belt is getting old and needs replacing. But the big question is why not just stop in at a dealer and let them look at it and adjust it. Maybe a hour labor and a peace of mind. Garry Donohue
Thanks Jerry but it is so loose, it’s about to jump off. Judging by past inspections. As for a dealer, I’m in New Jersey and I only have a Camping World near me, I resist going there. It look’s pretty straight forward to tighten myself thanks to Harry and Frank,
Garry Donohue
Harry; Do you know what type of wrench is for the A/C bolts ? Standard or metric? I can’t seem to locate the correct wrench.
