Backup light removal

Recommended Posts

I have a 2008 Dynasty and this backup light lens is discolored. The opposite side is white. Anyone know how these are removed? Looks like they are placed from the inside with adhesive.

Push them inward or outward?

The black rubber that holds the light in,  was quite pliable when new.  It could be as hard as a rock and/or very brittle now and need to be cut  enough to release the light from it's grip.  I'd be inclined to work from inside as to minimize chances of scratching the outside of coach.

Thanks. The black rubber on mine is still pliable but it looks like the best bet is to use a putty knife around the light fixture on the inside to release it. Not sure what was used to make it stick. Looks like some sort of black tar like stuff.

Yes, push outward.  A little penetrating oil may help.  Mine were fairly easy to break loose, however the rubber was compressed tightly into the opening.

I did not have any sealing material applied around the inside of the light.

The lights had been replaced once before so I’m guessing that made mine fairly easy to remove
