  1. Has anyone put a LG refer in their rig and run it with the MSW inverter? Don
  2. Richard, I just pulled the parts off the refer today. I have no idea what it is worth as I haven't had time to do any research yet. Make me a reasonable offer. I will be at Lazy Days this February if you want me to bring it to you or I can mail it to you. I haven't looked at the parts breakdown to know where to go and get it. Don
  3. Well it's been a couple months since I posted the problem with the generator. As it turned out it was the sensor. It was a bear of a job but got it done. Cutting a hole in the exhaust heat was the best result. Bought a piece of aluminum and epoxied it to the old cutout and drilled 4 holes in the aluminum to the heat shield to hold it in place. The generator now works as advertised. Thanks for all the feedback.
  4. I have a Samsung Residential Refrigerator, Model RF197ACRS for sale. I think it has a bad compressor. We had problems with it on our last trip. It would barely keep the refer section cool. Twice I had technicians out and they didn't fix it. Anyway, I am parting it out because I don't want to put it all back together. It was a bear getting it out of my Camelot. It was a great refer while it lasted. If someone wants it all I live near Port Charlotte Florida (about 80 miles south of Tampa. Most parts are shippable. Buyer pays for parts and shipping. Don't wait the parts probably won't last long. If you want a part or parts please look at the RF197 parts list and refer to the nomenclature in the manual. All parts are very reasonable. Call Don at 619 944 4770 or email hikenbike77@gmail.com.

  6. MHRookie, Yea I noticed I put the original post in the wrong section. It really hurts getting old!! Your description sounds good. I'll have to hit up HD to see what I can get. I thought about cutting out a section of the exhaust heat shield and rivet it back in place. That would be an easy fix if I was at home. At least I have a drip pan to catch any coolant that leaks out. I'll give it a try as soon as I get all the tools I need. Thanks for the info. vanwill52, When I talked to tech service at Cummins, they said if the sensor is shorted the system senses an overheat situation so it would only run for a minute. I did change the fuel filter and before I tried to start the gen an primed it 5 times for 30 seconds. Then I tried to start it. It ran great for 58 seconds. Tried it several more times and same results. That's when I decided to change the sensor. Now I get to fix it. YEA!!!!
  7. TMW188 The housing for the sensor is behind the thermostat housing and I have to use a mirror to even see the hole where the sensor came out. Picture wouldn't show anything. I'm going to see what it would take to remove the exhaust heat shield. If I can get that out I will be able to see the hole and provide pics. jacwjames, The PN for the sensor is 193-0318. Bought it at the local Cummins dealer and paid $44.18. Found it on the internet for $25 dollars. Next time I'll know better. Hypoxia, Thanks for the link to others that have the same issue. Doesn't sound like it's going to be an easy fix. What really exacerbates the issue is I am in a campground in San Diego and I'm not supposed to be working on my motor home. So far no one has said anything. Dr4Film, The fault code was 33. That supposedly identifies a cooling problem or a bad sensor. I talked to a tech at the Cummins facility and he said the sensor is probably the problem as long as the fluid level was correct. I just have to figure out how I'm going to get the rest of the sensor out so I can install the new one. Maybe I'll try and find an authorize repair shop and pay the piper. The Cummins shop is backlogged for the next month. I still have 2 1/2 months left on this trip before I get home to Florida. Once home I will have whatever I need to fix the problem. Just don't want to wait until then. The gen is on a slide out but still hard to get to with the exhaust shield in the way.
  8. My generator will not run for more than 58 seconds. Mater of fact it runs every time for 58 seconds. All the troubleshooting said to check the cooling level (it was good). I decided to change out the coolant and add new coolant. Changed the oil, air filter and fuel filter also. Figured I'd do it all. Same results, 58 seconds. Didn't think that would change anything but it was almost due only 280 hours on the gen. The next thing was the cooling sensor. I removed the cooling sensor (what a pain in the butt). Now I have a big problem. The threaded portion came out (with a little muscle). The bottom portion of the sensor didn't come out. It is stuck in the opening. There is all of about 2 or so inches to work with because the heat shield for the exhaust is right there. I am on the road so I don't have the tools I would normally have but will buy whatever I need to get the gen fixed. Any ideas on how to get the bottom piece of the sensor out (not much room to work with)??? Thanks in advance for any advice. Don Genesse (namvet77) 04 Camelot
  9. I've got 3 boxes of baking soda in there now. I was told to check the catch box where the defrosted water goes and clean it.
  10. I have a 04 Camelot that I installed the RF197 Samsung Refer about 7 years ago. Best upgrade I have made. The refer has worked flawlessly until last week. My defrost sensor went bad a week ago. I removed the back panel on the inside of the refer that covers the evap coils. Sure enough there was ice everywhere. Melted the ice and bought the rear panel that comes with a new defrost sensor and installed it. Bought the rear panel from a local appliance distributor. Prior to removing the back panel there was a odor (smelled like a dead fish) in the refer. That was a couple days before I replaced the back panel. A friend said the back panel has Styrofoam on the back side of the panel to act as insulation. He said the Styrofoam will absorb odors from the refer. We haven't had any fish in the refer for several weeks and it wasn't bad while in the refer. Everything was removed from the refer, checked for freshness and odor, wiped down with disinfectant, and put back in the refer. The odor still remains. Any suggestions? Thanks for any help. Don
  11. I have been lubricating my exhaust break with regular silicon spray. I'm being told I should be using high temp silicon spray. I can not find any high temp spray of any kind in the auto parts stores or on line. So, what is everyone using to keep the exhaust break working properly? So far I haven't had a problem but, if I need to change my way of lubricating the exhaust break assembly I need to know what to use. Any thoughts out there? Don
  12. I need to change my email address from namvet77@*****.com to hikenbike77@*****.com. Hope that is not a problem. Thanks. Don Genesse
  13. Quick question about servicing front wheel bearings. I have a 2004 Monaco Camelot that I am getting ready to service the front wheel bearings. Nowhere in my manual or any data I have states how many foot pounds to torque the lug nuts. I have read views on what people think but I need facts. Also what is the foot pounds to torque the nut that holds the bearings in. Thanks in advance for any hard data that is provided. Don
  14. I am looking for a good reputable company to remove my carpeting and tile and upgrade to a new nice looking tile. Does anyone know of a good company around Tampa down the west coast to Fort Meyers? I have new furniture ordered and the old furniture is already out of the coach (except the drivers seat). I can remove the old carpeting and tile but don't want to tackle putting in new tile. Besides no one will want to do the job if the old stuff has been removed. Namvet
  15. I'm looking to upgrade the sofa's and chairs in my 04 Camelot. The current furniture is Flexsteel. Can't find much data on Flexsteel. Found a fair amount of data on shop4seats. Prices are a little on the high end but still doable. Haven't checked any reupholsters. Currently in San Diego but live in Florida. Not sure if I want to do all this on the road or wait until I get home. Does anyone have any advice on which company to go to, or if the hole patterns line up if I change brands? Any advice will be appreciated.
  16. I have a 2004 Camelot and I had the same issue. Checked everything. Called the factory (when we could) and the rep pulled the wiring schematic for my rig. He said it was a GFI receptacle . I looked everywhere and couldn't find it. I finally did find it and it was on the side of the counter opposite the bed. It was on the side of the cabinet facing the rear of the coach (just opposite the doors for the washer and dryer. You definitely have one or more. If you want I can come over to your rig and help you to try and locate it. Don Genesse Site 33
