Personally, I got tired of the dim lighting and wired 2 LED strips in place.  Now I can see all without a flashlight.  One of my favorite easy mods.

I did the same thing..  SuperBright LED has some strips that would be perfect for the location.  I have one of their 3ft strips across the inside of the engine bay hatch.  They come in 12", 18", 24" and 39" and are waterproof.

I may just mount one of these in each of the bays

    FWIW

I did a search for Marine salvage yards yesterday and did searches on the ones with websites.  Found some of the Faria gauges but none for air pressure, my guess is that air isn't on boats.

    Good Luck

Yeah, that's what I come up with.  Might have to get into the larger Yachts.  I'm wondering about truck salvage yards now.

Capacitors can wear out over time and are a common failure point.

Did you try changing out the stepper motor on one yet?

    Paul

I did Paul but it still didn't work but that may be due to my soldering.  I'm going to check my solder joint and recheck it.  I hope I didn't get it to hot and mess the board up.  I didn't change the capacitors though.  I have some more 'dead' gauges coming that I can practice on.  I just got a call Monday about someone that has a NEW one but he wants $200 for it!

I watched the YouTube video, and he is replacing a couple of capacitors as well.

I think I have an extra faulty gauge that someone sent me after they replaced theirs so I will try this out.

I will probably 3D print a jig to hold the gauge in so the bezel does not get scratched, and maybe to re-crimp the bezel.

    Paul

Did you understand what the purpose of changing the capacitors was for?  I didn't try that because that looked like it might have been a little more difficult .... for me anyway.  BTW, I have someone sending me a couple more 'dead' gauges to play with.  The needle was on fairly tight but you'll find some stepper motor kits on line that have a plastic tool included just for getting the needle off of the motor.  I did get one of those as well.  It takes a lot of patience to get that bezel off but it will eventually come off.  I lost count of how many times I went around it with a small screwdriver cautiously prying on it.

I see these guys have some Faria gauges in stock. I didn't see the ones you're looking for but it may be worth a call just to verify. They bought a bunch of monaco stock when they went into bankruptcy. I have bought gauges for my coach from them but mine are Actia.

Thanks Kevin.  Yeah, I tried them but no luck.  I think they are who I bought my speedometer replacement from.  I might be mistaken but I think those Faria gauges may have only been installed in the Exec & Sig models made out on Oregon back in the mid 2000's.  That system was also used in boats but I don't know which models or years.  If anyone knows where else they were used that might be helpful or ..... is there anything such as a boat salvage yard ?  🙂

One of my air pressure gauges doesn’t always start up when it Is cold, but normally does when it it warm. The same for my fuel pressure gauge.

I can hear a faint noise that is the gauges trying to restart repeatedly. I suspect something in the power supply in the gauge rather that the stepper motor on mine.

I don’t have a solution to offer up.

    Paul

    Hello Paul

Yeah,  mine were sort of acting like that also but eventually died.  If I looked real close I could see the needle shaking like it was stuck.  I found this interesting video on YouTube about to repair them by replacing the little stepper motor in them that you might find interesting as well.

Thanks Tom,  Sounds to be quite involved for what you would think to be an easy solution.  I was able to find a YouTube video of a guy showing how to take one of these gauges apart and replacing the stepper motor inside.  The stepper motors are fairly cheap and readily available on line.  I got a pkg of 6 for like $30.  I gave it a try but it didn't work for me nut maybe I need to go back and check my solder connections.  The video made it look like a pretty straight forward fix.  I don't know if it could also be an issue with the Gateway box but I was able to find a new one on line for $400 so I might try swapping it out to see if that does anything.

  8. I'm needing a working rear tank Faria air gauge  GE0056A

If anyone has a front tank Faria air gauge I would be interested in one of those as well.  The front gauge would be a GE0055A

Yes, I have tried the salvage yards, ebay and amazon.

I have One that I took out of my 2007 Sig, you are welcome to it.

I'm interested if it still works.  Would you be able to box it up and ship it?  That would be awesome!  Just let me know how much it will cost.  Are you going to be at The Gathering at Lazydays in February by any chance?  By the way, what did you replace yours with?

There are guys on ebay that can put a new screen in for you if you send it to them.  I did that to a pioneer touch screen radio I had.  It was only 100.00 to replace the screen.

I've searched but can't seem to find anyone.  Do you recall who they are?

  10. The screen for my Aladdin display has died and am needing a working replacement.  I have a 'spare' but it's locked and I don't have the 4 digit code to unlock it plus the screen needs to be calibrated and the numbers don't match up with the keypad display so I can't even enter all of the numbers even if I had them.  I have contacted KENWOOD but they are of no help, just said they don't support it anymore and have no replacement models I could even upgrade to.   Has anyone tried to replace just the monitor screen?  Don't know if the monitor on the 'locked' receiver could be swapped over to the one with the dead monitor.

I am down here in Melbourne FL for thanksgiving and brought my rig over to Josam’s to have an air leak fixed. I asked Barry to inspect the chassis for any other problems. When I went to pick it up he said the drag link would need to be replaced in 6-8 months. I know about the only place you can get them is Hendersons and they are expensive. Barry said that’s where he gets them. My question…..is this something I can replace? I have looked all over this form and can find people have fixed them by welding them but no one replacing them. Barry told me I need the 58 inch drag link so I know the one I need. Has anyone done this themselves?

I was just over at JOSAM's a week ago and he told me I had the same exact problem.  He said a new one would be around $1,500 and gave me the same exact time frame to get mine replaced.  He wanted me to schedule an appointment but I told him to check as to when he could get one and let me know and then I'd have him schedule me in.  With the unknown regarding parts availability it could be a problem even getting one anytime soon.

Mike, for what it's worth on my Windsor the dryer is located above the rear axle on drivers' side.  So, it seems Monaco was not consistent or logical when deciding where to pace them.

I finally found it Ray.  It was buried behind a large bundle of wiring and hoses up in the generator bay on the passenger side of the firewall.  Now to find out a replacement part number for it.  The Monaco parts list shows a 054-00001 but the number on the dryer is 1748698, neither of which I can pull up anything on nor a cross reference part number.

When I painted my truck to match my motorhome the guy just came out with a little camera looking gizmo stuck it on each color and took my truck and painted it he didn’t need to paint codes. I just love technology lol.

I had to get a little nick taken care of and had some of the original paint but the painter refused to use it and instead used a camera device to color match the paint.  He said it was a lot more accurate to do it that way.

Nice. Thanks. We've never been before, but it seems like fun. I have been to the show for a day, but never staying on the grounds. What are they charging at LazyDays these days? I'll wager it's not any cheaper than staying right at the Fairgrounds. I've always found LazyDays to be rather overpriced, but my family owned a campground that was clean/nice and had reasonable rates.

BTW, I signed up for the rally through Monaco Travelers. I think they still have spots.

Russell,  Did you sign up for the Monaco Gathering in February or the Facebook Monaco Owners rally at the Tampa Fairgrounds in January?  Lazydays is charging $75/night (+tax).  I believe camping at the fairgrounds is dry camping.  One day admission gets you a free pass for the second day and you do get a little discount ordering your tickets online ahead of time and that allows you to skip the long line.  If they haven't raised the cost, parking at the fairgrounds is $8.

I am ~40' pulling a Jeep GC.    I had joined Harvest host last year but didn't renew.  I had used it 4 times staying at a couple wineries and other places.  It was OK but I found a lot of times they were unresponsive to trying to reservations via the APP, much better to call.   A couple times when I requested a date I didn't hear back for days afterwards.   Found it wasn't really great for last minute stopping.   If I was planning on a longer trip I'd probably renew but for now I just can't see me using in much in the next 6 months, maybe next year.

We're been members for 4 years now and have hardly used it but I figure if I use it at least twice a year I've paid for the membership.  We had our membership cost locked in when we joined so two night stays a year somewhere pays for itself.  Those are all secondary roads around Gettysburg so drive carefully.

  16. Depends on how big of a rig you're traveling in.  How long are you.  Gettysburg is a tiny little town and depending on how late in the year you planning on going there you might find some of the campgrounds closing for the season.  Also, do you belong to Harvest Hosts or BoonDockers Welcome?  Those can be other options but availability also depends on how long your coach is.

The attached photos show what is available in that are but this is based on my filtering for a 45 ft coach.  The map on the left is from Harvest Hosts and the other one is from RV Trip Wizard.

I have the coach going to the shop next week to see if they can figure it out, will update you afterwards.

I will be the first to admit I'm not electrically incline (outside of easy electrical I do most my maintenance). I'm thinking it's in the wiring harness somewhere. The shop said if they can't find it they might be able to wire the to the upper clearance lights? I guess the that wiring can handle the additional load?

Hoping they will find the problem and fix it correctly. I had a few repair shops say this is a chassis issue and didn't want to work on it.

I may just have to do the same thing.  I'm in Florida and would be taking it up to Lazydays in Wildwood.  I just had it there having a slide Hyd issue repaired.  This is what I'm experiencing:

    1.       4-Way flashers –OK

    2.       Left turn signal – OK

    3.       Right Turn signal – OK

    4.       Head lights, Low Beam – OK

    5.       Head lights, High Beam – OK

    6.       Headlight Flash from steering wheel – OK

    7.       Rear light flash from steering wheel – OK

    8.       Upper run lights (front & back) – OK

    9.       Brake lights/3rd brake light – OK

    10.   Driver console Switch lights – OK

    11.   Driver console Switch light dim – OK

    12.   Dash warning lights – OK

    13.   Tail Lights / Side running lights – NOT WORKING

I pulled the bulbs out of the tail lights (one was corroded but I cleaned it up) and both terminals showed a direct path to ground so I've got a short somewhere.  I have 12v to both of the fuse terminals but as soon as I insert a fuse and pull the headlight switch out the fuse blows.
