  1. Tried to find the spare wires on our 04 Dynasty, found the ones in the dash but could not find where they were in the back of the coach. Gave up and mounted the brake controller in the engine compartment (took 45 minutes) and then a year later, behind the rear run box, I found the four wires connected to a white plug….same as in the dash near the steering column.

  2. Inflation has been alive and growing for years. Will the rate increase…YES! You can add 7+% to the “official” inflation rate… limits how much our SS increases.

Friend runs a gas station and 2 years ago I could buy gas for 18 cents/gallon paying in 1964 and older 90% silver coins. Today it’s even less as the value of silver has doubled while gas has gone up 50%… closer to 13 cents. That’s how much the $ has declined in 57 years.

Bought a new machine before Christmas (2nd one in 50 years) because the year end closeout price was good and had the money sitting in the bank doing nothing. Figure I can sell it in 2 years for what I paid.

Finally the “news” is talking about inflation…duh, you can’t print Trillions of $ without inflation and pay people not to work without prices going up. Will it reach the Carter years… hopefully not for our kids and grands futures.

  3. Interesting that our 04 Dynasty (owned for 14 years) and our 08 Navigator (owned for 3 years) didn’t have those problems although I haven’t had the covers off the 3 ACs on the Navigator as they cool well. Agree the foam seals are critical for good operation.
Frank, do you know when your 08 as built? Ours was 10/2007.

  4. If you are stuck, it will take some serious blocking to keep the jack from just pushing into the ground.
Although you should have nylon straps between the MH’s frame and the drive axle’s H frame, doubt a jack will have enough travel to lift the axle.

  5. 13 turns but unless you loosen a end bolt it’s probably a broken spring. Easy enough to replace the spring and while you are up there, I would remove the fabric (if more than 8 years old) and have all the seams re-sewn as the thread usually gives up at 10 years.

The smaller slides (those that only go out 20”) have enough unused fabric that I cut off the old fabric and sew the large plastic rod back in…. good for another 10 years.

  6. Try lowering the temperature a couple degrees when it stay running and see if it keeps running. Mine will and this rules out it being a power/Intelitec issue.

Theres nothing wrong with the unit… the Tstat is turning it off. All 3 heat pumps are original on our 04 Dynasty that did the same on the BR unit until I messed with the remote temperature sensor. Having the sensor clear of everything and the clamp further back from the end seemed to help.

  7. Several years ago I added a manual disconnect switch to the wire that energizes my BigBoy relay to decrease its amp draw when dry camping…switch extends out the bottom of the rear run box.
Just ordered a $12 WiFi relay to go in parallel with this switch so I do not have to go outside to put the BigBoy back in the system. Decided on the one below as it appears to have an antenna wire that I can run outside of the metal rear run box for better reception.FC46B29D-2CF1-4B17-B630-B00860919F5E.thumb.png.d158171767f2b80d80a344f38142884a.png

  8. Chris, thanks for a good breakdown of what’s happening.

Supposedly NADA prices are just a percentage adjustment based on age… not based on sales. Currently the prices on 06-08 Monaco Exes, Sigs, and HR Navigators values (only ones I check) are back up to what they were 3 years ago.

  9. Friend just bought two group 31s for his Sig’s engine at ORiley for $127 each… maintenance free. Been using AGMs for the house but price of Lithium cells have come down enough to make them cheaper than AGMs if you build your own batteries plus probably 5X the cycles. I just finished building 600AH for $1200 including BMSs.

  10. Our units are not bad… it’s a temperature sensing issue, usually when there is only a slight difference in the set temperature and actual temperature.
OP, when mine starts short cycling, I can stop mine from doing this by getting out of bed and lowering the temperature on the Tstat several degrees… now when it starts it usually keeps running and this is why messing with the remote temp sensor helps the issue.

  11. Yes, people are asking more $$ than what they paid and used asking prices are up probably 20% for the big Monaco DPs, but asking and getting are two different things.
I see listings for 08 Navigators from way more to slightly less than what I paid 3 years ago for ours... $165K. Helped our daughter buy a nice 06 Navigator 45’ for $110K... most are $30K+ or more. Deals are out there but you have to act fast. Saw a 07 Navigator for $200K... good luck.

  12. Third picture is of the refrigerator you need to seriously considering using as it’s only an inch too high,  actually only  a 3/4 inch. Fortunately Executive rotated some of my pictures which saved them.

I previously posted: DW wanted the large drawer saved under our NoCold in our 04 Dynasty. Hoped the 65” tall 21 Whirlpool would fit but had to lower the floor 1”.  Link to my DIY install:

First picture is with the floor cut out and supports around the perimeter an inch lower. Second picture is with the foam insulation installed,  sealing off the area from the drawer below.

The hardest part was taking an inch off of the front cross piece. Did most of it with a 7 inch Skill saw BUT, would not recommend doing it that way as it’s easy for the Skill saw to get away from you if you’re not careful.
