  1. That's a GFCI breaker.  It's not an overload tripping it.  You have a neutral touching ground somewhere.

GFCI protection is required for 125-volt receptacles supplied by single-phase branch circuits rated 150 volts or less to the ground. GFCI receptacles are required in bathrooms, garages, crawl spaces, basements, laundry rooms and areas where a water source is present.

  2. Yes.  Definitely replace it.  The glue holding the filter medium together deteriorates over time.

Your owners manual will have the part number, but you may have to cross it over.  I buy them online.  I think the Filter Barn had a good price, but I always shop around.

They have large hose screw clamps on each end to connect the hoses and 2 band clamps holding the filter to the coach.  It usually sits side to side over top of the engine.  Easy access on a side radiator.

  3. You've thought through it well. Raise the coach all the way up on the air suspension. Then use jack stands just in case.

I use a small floor jack to hold the steering box up in place.

Spray some PB Blaster on the nuts and bolts the day before.

This is a link to several if not hundreds of swaps.  Most of these are swapping from a Sheppard steering box, but the principal is the same.

  4. Its in the last basement bay inside just beyond the water pump..  But, there is a stainless steel enclosure around the Aqua Hot.  Remove the top half of the enclosure.  The controller is clipped to a bracket on the pump.

To remove the enclosure you enter the next bay forward, passenger side and side a divider back

  5. I just replaced our expansion valve last week.  It is up front above the generator.  It has two black AC hoses connected with some black A/C insulation foam over the B nuts.

I first removed the hoses.  Then peeled back the insulation and broke the nuts loose and it came right off.

I had to buy some new green orings when i reinstalled the new one.

Part number: EGELHOF AC Expansion Valve 1268300384 / 0751.0003A 321300S

  6. I also have a 2004 model Monaco.  We have A/C ports both up front and in the rear engine compartment.  You can spot them by the red and blue plastic caps over the Schrader valves.   I used the vacuum pump on the port up front for about 30 min and then moved it to the rear engine compartment ports for another 30 min.  Then recharged from the rear port.

Also, the dryer is up front just to the left of the generator and the system takes 4lbs of R134a.

  7. First try the simple fix.  Remove all power from the coach and shut off the batteries and inverter.  You should have an Aqua Hot  system reset on the light display board,.  Do a reset (make sure you cycle the power off/on first).

Then with power back on, cycle the main diesel burner switch off/on a couple of time.

You should have been able to turn the thermostats off (black slider switch under the thermostat) and turn off the front blower fan.

  8. Rick is the original Eaton integration engineer that worked with Monaco to install the Vorad system back in 2003.  He knows the system inside and out.  He still has a work bench and can reprogram your ECU to the newest version.   Make sure to tell him if you have diamond or round shaped side sensors.

It's a great system and the new coaches are only just now catching up with a smart cruise system.

  9. A long thread on the Sauer Danfoss wax valve.  There are a couple of DD60 coaches in this thread, but the idea still applies.

We are getting new wax valves from England at a good price.

Also, the Signature should have the A/C condenser up front just behind the front axle with a small fan.  So, it does not require the engine fan for cooling.

  10. A large percentage of the time (maybe 90%+) the leaks are in the air solenoid valves, or "6 packs". They need new o-rings installed both inside the solenoid and also where the air lines insert into the solenoid.

You need to get the coach up in the air because after you locate the leaks you need to bleed the air down to work on the solenoids. If you do not have a lift, build some ramps from 2" X 12" boards stair stepped together.

Someone also posted a link to a leak detector spray product on Amazon that is superior at finding leaks.

This process takes lots of time and patience and very few shops have either. HWH will work on your system if you are near Iowa or Paul Maddox.

A good way to start is to pre-purchase the needed o-rings. Mike Canter suggests you use Dupont Viton orings. The internal oring is a -019 size, the large one on the bottom is a -028 and the small one on the bottom is a -015.

Then remove the 6-pack valves in both front and rear and rebuild them. Label all wires and air lines. It will help to have a special "pin wrench" tool and cannon plug pliers to get the valves apart.

  11. Yes, you need to remove the front tires/wheels or access will be difficult.  You should start by airing the coach all the way up on the air springs and support the frame with 22 ton jack stands.  Then air it down.  (This allows you to remove the bag without trying to compress it.)  You also need to remove the bristle brushes and lower shock mount.  Use a regular floor jack to support the front axle weight only.  This allows you to lower the axle and easily pull the bags out.

Start reading at post #1265 and then the next few pages.  Mike is a true craftsman and an expert on these coaches.

Hope you get it as a 2008 Signature is one of the finest coaches ever manufactured.
