  1. I have oil bath on my tag axle and considered putting them on the other wheels. I was helping a truck repair shop with his pol barn and asked him about it. All the truckers he was dealing with were changing oil bath to packed bearings. He said the oil bath always failed but I think it probably was because they put 10s of thousand miles on each year. I didn’t bother with it.

  2. I really don’t need much for it. Shipping would be a little. I am in Lake Geneva wi area trying to get ready for winter. The stroke is a setback but it came out of a fib which could have been much worse and a wake up call to pay attention. I had planned on going somewhere warm and now I am preparing for winter but life’s plenty good.😊

  3. I have a German made GEDORE RAHSOL DREMOMETER type D 100-550 3/4” torque wrench I won’t be using any more.

I can make you a great deal on if you are interested? I can’t remember but I think it was a couple thousand new and I just paid a few hundred back in 2012 to have it recalibrated. It is very accurate. I used it with a 3/4” breaker bar and a piece of 2” x 3’ pipe to work. It is 32”s long.

Around thanksgiving I had a stroke and lost the sight in my right eye. I will be putting my coach up for sale along with a bunch of stuff like this. I always enjoyed fixing things myself but mostly saving money and knowing that it was done right. Let me know if you are interested.

  5. I have been helping a trucking company owner and major truck repair shop with remodeling his offices and I have those on my tag axil and considered putting them on the rear axil and they are taking them off their trucks and trailers because of failure. I am sure it is because of high mileage and excessive weight but I thought that was interesting. I just keep an eye on mine and Tom is correct.

  6. Thanks guys. I think I have it figured out. I have to see where the short is and find how the thermostat is wired. I can power the fans and find if a short is in that circuit back in the wet bay but not sure how to check the thermostat with out blowing it up. When it comes to electrical I am an amazing carpenter/home builder.
I will look for the wet bay heater tomorrow.
    Happy New Years Everyone

  7. When my slides come in they tip a little. Then the slides are closed they have about 1 1/2” jump but when open with the transition piece there is about 1/4”. I looked at a lot of new coaches and they were putting carpet on the slides to jump over the drop.maybe people have luck with wood but as a retired builder for 45 years I wouldn’t put wood in my coach. All the box stores have some good quality vinyl plank and like I said you can build up the middle to make it work.

The good planks will have a good lock and go together with a rubber block and you will be able to plane the lock off with a little hand plane and use Elemers wood glue to fix in place. The only trouble with good locking is when you get to a wall and no room to lock in place. Cheap stuff will un lock if you pad it up to much. You won’t have any trouble. There is lots of help on this site.
