  1. you are spot on. This sight is such a big help and all the people are so helpful.
  2. I have oil bath on my tag axle and considered putting them on the other wheels. I was helping a truck repair shop with his pol barn and asked him about it. All the truckers he was dealing with were changing oil bath to packed bearings. He said the oil bath always failed but I think it probably was because they put 10s of thousand miles on each year. I didn’t bother with it. paul
  3. I had something similar happen a couple years ago and in my main low voltage panel there were fuses blown for the switches. Also a couple times I have had to unplug the CPU and replay it back in to reset it. I know there are better guys to help. That helped me👍
  4. Wow, good for you! Something I have wished I was able to do. paulb
  5. Bryan, where did you find the info how to do the repairs? Thanks for the info on the parts. paul
  6. I really don’t need much for it. Shipping would be a little. I am in Lake Geneva wi area trying to get ready for winter. The stroke is a setback but it came out of a fib which could have been much worse and a wake up call to pay attention. I had planned on going somewhere warm and now I am preparing for winter but life’s plenty good.😊
  7. I built my torque wrench up in 2places with about an inch of electrical tape so those. We’re where the pipe extension comes in contact with it.. paul
  8. I have a German made GEDORE RAHSOL DREMOMETER type D 100-550 3/4” torque wrench I won’t be using any more. I can make you a great deal on if you are interested? I can’t remember but I think it was a couple thousand new and I just paid a few hundred back in 2012 to have it recalibrated. It is very accurate. I used it with a 3/4” breaker bar and a piece of 2” x 3’ pipe to work. It is 32”s long. Around thanksgiving I had a stroke and lost the sight in my right eye. I will be putting my coach up for sale along with a bunch of stuff like this. I always enjoyed fixing things myself but mostly saving money and knowing that it was done right. Let me know if you are interested. paul busch
  9. Hi, I have a 05 sig castle 4 and in a similar situation. Good life but at 76 lost the sight in right recently and trouble driving. I wondered if you don’t mind could you let me know what kind of response you had. Tom Cherry sad I should do as you have. Hope you had success. Paul Busch Sorry I didn’t mean to put it out there. I gues I can’t figure out how to PM. paul
  10. Richard, thanks. They are on my tag and I was interested in getting them for my front wheels but opted to leave them as grease fitting.
  11. I have been helping a trucking company owner and major truck repair shop with remodeling his offices and I have those on my tag axil and considered putting them on the rear axil and they are taking them off their trucks and trailers because of failure. I am sure it is because of high mileage and excessive weight but I thought that was interesting. I just keep an eye on mine and Tom is correct.
  12. NICE, I COULD USE SOME HELP WITH MINE🙃
  13. My motor became sporadic and finally quit. I replaced the motor which was a left passenger door window from several Lincoln, and ford cars from 1999 to 2004. $98.00 lippert sent me a 300.00 motor and Walter another big chunk of money for an adapter wiring harness. Would have been over $600. Plus lots of work. Still working after 3 years. Good luck. pbusch
  14. If you still have it I am interested. I just need to see what mine is in my 05 sig. paulb
  15. I really don’t know what we did before you tube.
  16. I am needing to replace all 4 of my slide toppers. Let me know how you do. Are you doing the work yourself? paulb
  17. My smart wheel box gave out a couple years ago. Crazy how much critical stuff goes through there. New box and it works great. good luck paulb
  18. Thanks guys. I think I have it figured out. I have to see where the short is and find how the thermostat is wired. I can power the fans and find if a short is in that circuit back in the wet bay but not sure how to check the thermostat with out blowing it up. When it comes to electrical I am an amazing carpenter/home builder. I will look for the wet bay heater tomorrow. Happy New Years Everyone paulb
  19. Tom, I am having trouble opening your PDF.di I need to do something special?
  20. When my slides come in they tip a little. Then the slides are closed they have about 1 1/2” jump but when open with the transition piece there is about 1/4”. I looked at a lot of new coaches and they were putting carpet on the slides to jump over the drop.maybe people have luck with wood but as a retired builder for 45 years I wouldn’t put wood in my coach. All the box stores have some good quality vinyl plank and like I said you can build up the middle to make it work. The good planks will have a good lock and go together with a rubber block and you will be able to plane the lock off with a little hand plane and use Elemers wood glue to fix in place. The only trouble with good locking is when you get to a wall and no room to lock in place. Cheap stuff will un lock if you pad it up to much. You won’t have any trouble. There is lots of help on this site.
  21. I did my sig 3years ago. Use a good quality plank and it goes pretty good. I ran the width of the coach and padded the center up to meet slides without big jump. Lined up the planks nicely. I hade stone at entrance and through kitchen that I squared up lacking flexible matching trim. That was the hardest. The bedroom was as much work as the entry, kitchen and living room. good luck paulb
