You can also put a review on Yelp. Just look up the city, then the business. There is a section for reviews. I have left reviews and the proprietor responded so I know the reviews get read.

I need help. During the night we had a heavy thunderstorm. This morning I took a shower and about 1/2 hour later the LP detector went off. Ear splitting to say the least. My son said there was a plastic bag in front of the detector when it went off.

Yesterday I had turned the inside water heater switch on (it lit up red). I’m not familiar with how the propane system works on this RV and the manual didn’t explain it very well. I turned the inside water heater off just in case. We went outside to get fresh air. The switch in the LP bay is switched off. Yet the propane ignited on the water heater while we were outside. 
 

After the alarm I tried to turn the gas off with the manual control valved in the LP bay. The valve didn’t turn clockwise so I turned it counterclockwise. When I turned the knob counterclockwise I heard a hissing so I turned it back all the way clockwise.

I believe the LP alarm went off because of the plastic bag being to close.
 

So my questions are:

How do I turn the propane off;

When the inside water heater switch is on, what does that mean in terms of how the water heater functions?

Does anyone think it is unsafe?

It arrived yesterday but we had thunderstorms today so I won’t get to try it out till tomorrow morning.  I’ll have to install it tomorrow morning before we leave tomorrow afternoon.

I like the sheet aluminum idea, but I think I'd skip drilling more holes in the roof and just rely on the GeoFlex to hold it in place.  Only issue for me is that the antenna is mounted on the curve of the front cap, so a flat piece of aluminum might still work if it could be molded to the shape of the cap.

I think I'll remove the old sealant and see what I've got to work with. I do like the idea of keeping the option of running wires through it in the future if needed.

Perhaps you could put Eternabond tape over the existing holes and put GeoFlex or Dicor over the edges of the tape.

Thanks everyone. I reported to the manager today and she said she will contact the “neighbor” on that side to see if he knew anything. I told her if he found the mirror and kept it I’d see if I could remount it. 

We went to the storage lot to get our Diplomat for a weekend trip last weekend and when we pulled the windshield curtains back to head out I discovered the lower part of driver’s side mirror was missing. It wasn’t on the ground anywhere around the front of the coach. 
 

Can anyone identify which brand mirror it is? It’s a 2001 Diplomat.

I couldn’t find the brand anywhere on the bottom, sides or back.

I think the main difference between gas & diesel is to add checking the oil level, coolant, & air filter. Unless I’m misunderstanding your question, those are the main differences. You still have pretty much the same breaking camp process to go through such as checking the air in the tires, disconnecting all the utilities, etc.

I bought the TST system and it came with the repeater. I bought it right after Christmas, it was one of my Christmas gifts from my wife, so I took it to my RV at the storage but I haven’t had a chance to install and program it (storage spaces too close together to do much until I pull it out).

I know my front curb side is low in air. When I install the TST valve monitors I’ll take my air pump and get the pressures at the manufacturer’s chart of recommended levels until I can get the 4 corners weighed.

It’s a long video but has some good information from the owner of a chain of tank flush companies with many years of experience cleaning out black and gray tanks. 
 

In short, lots of water is the key; use any type of toilet paper and no need to use tank treatment. If you just have to use “something”, put 40 oz of Pinesol in a gallon container with 11 oz Calgon Pearls and fill with water. Use 1/2 cup after each time you empty, both tanks, and leave the valves closed.

You can always get the repair done somewhere else and send CW the bill/sue CW as soon as you can.  They may not cough up the dough at first, but they might with the threat of lawsuit.  BTW, I've heard enough negative remarks about CW I will avoid them unless it's a dire emergency.

Boy, I thought $650 to tow mine 8 miles in Orlando was high.  They did all you said, backed it in where Cummins told them to, and still didn't charge that much. This was through Coach Net, and it took about 1 hour & 30 minutes for the truck to arrive to pick my coach up.

These are 3-D printed and will fit a Monaco.  I bought one to replace the shallow one that came with the coach from Monaco, and it fit great on the Driver's console.  Just be aware they don't have one with the visor switch for the passenger's side.

A coach of the age of yours should be appraised at more than $100K to maybe $159K. A professional appraisal would be well worth it.  I would think a total re-wire should be less than $80K.  Most insurance companies that I have dealt with used the 80% retail value as the threshold for declaring a total...at least it used to be.  Just make sure they make a reasonable offer so you can replace it with the same or newer no matter what make you choose for a replacement.

Tom, I started off my RV adventures in a 2006 Airstream Bunk model. I joined the "www.airforums.com" as I have this forum. One of the members lived in Minnesota, if I remember correctly, and he said to winterize he would buy approx. 5 gallons of the cheapest vodka he could find and use it to winterize. He said he never had a problem with the severe winters they have. In the spring, he would flush the system and make sure no one under 21 drank water from the faucet for a few days.


Now I need some general advice:

I currently live in Central Florida, the land of Mickey Mouse. My request for advice is this, later this week the forecast is for 30 degrees F. In the 12 years I have lived in Orlando the temps have never got that cold. On our last weekend trip I dumped the gray tank, emptied the black tank & left a few gallons of water in the black tank flush to which I can easily add antifreeze through the toilet. However, I topped off my fresh tank so it contains approx. 100 gallons of fresh water. I store my RV at a nearby storage facility so I can run over and drain the fresh tank and water heater on the ground there. I think I can take my small pancake air compressor over and blow out the lines, too.

With such a moderate temperature as 30 should I drain the fresh tank with that much mass in the water tank and add the "pink stuff" to the fresh tank and run it through the lines? Should I do a full winterization like I did when I lived in Atlanta? We have a trip planned for MLK weekend and I really don't want any surprises, but at the same time I will have to track down the antifreeze as I haven't bought any since moving to Orlando.

Thank you for all of your help but I am a nube and feel completely stupid. 

I started poking around and tried the start button on the generator and found out just how inept I am with diesel enginees.  When I tried the start button I could hear the fuel pump.  When it delivered fuel to the generator the sound of the pump changed so I tried the start button and it started.  Apparently when Cummins Coach Care replaced the fuel filter (they said it only had one) they neglected to prime the generator.

Now I understand the generator more and have some trouble shooting ideas to start with if I have future issues.

I’ll be going by the storage facility tomorrow and I’ll check the fuses in the generator.

We’re going to a local county park campground this weekend andIf it isn’t the fuse I’ll consider crawling under the front end while it’s jacked up high enough on the levelers for me crawl under.
