  1. Yeah I have the manual and the number next to the filter doesn't come back to any filter I can find. Guess I'm just going to have to pull a filter and hope I can source it locally.
  2. Thanks, it's just temporary so we have a decent TV for our next couple runs. I'll go down the lift avenue when we change out the j-sofa and carpet this winter.
  3. Does anyone have a part number for the hydraulic filters in the reservoir on my 2004 Windsor? The manual shows three filters in a Nelson reservoir. There's # 090310 next to the photos but that doesn't seem to be a valid part number. I'd sure appreciate it if someone had the part #'s and source for the filters.
  4. Following the installation of the recliner/theater seat post, it became apparent we were going to need the TV right across from the seats. When we find a decent replacement for the J-sofa we will install a TV lift behind the sofa. Until now, I built a shelf that slips over the window box. TV is secured to the shelf so the whole thing can be put in the closet if we want to use the j-sofa bed. It's very solid and I used a piece of 3/4" PVC down from the upper cabinet to keep the TV from tipping forward. I also ran two HDMI cords through the upper cabinets and installed an HDMI outlet under the cabinet. It's not the ultimate solution but it will work great for now.
  5. Good points Ray and Chuck. I did give the tow bar a cursory check but I'll go through and tighten everything up there as needed. I did order new u-joints for the drivelines as a precautionary measure and will install before our next voyage.
  6. I gave the rear chassis a thorough going over today and I'm happy to report there's no cracked welds, broken mounts or broken shocks. The trailing arms are in excelletn condition too. I gave the driveline a thorough lubing and we will keep an eye on it. I'm really hoping it was just the tow car slamming around back there.
  7. Filters are new and there's no loss of power; also, it's really intermittant.
  8. Crawled under tonight for a cursory look and didn't see anything obvious. Naturally I'll do a full inspection when it's not 30 degrees out. I did have a thought: I was towing our Chevy Tracker and I wonder if what I heard and felt was the tow car taking up slack then pulling back hard when I got on the throttle?
  9. Thanks for the input, I'll take a closer look this week. I have lubed the shaft and joints. It's so intermittent and that's what makes it annoying. I've tried to replicate but can't do it at will.
  10. I've noticed a loud clunk that is heard and felt from the rear of the coach. It's intermittent and rare but when it does happen it seems to be when climbing a hill and you let off then go back on the throttle. I don't think it's a hard shift...I'm well versed in the Allison hard shifts! Maybe more like a driveline issue or something in the suspension loading up then slamming? Has anyone experienced anything like this with the Roadmaster Chassis? 2004 Windsor 40PKD with 16,000 miles.
  11. The chair overhangs the edge of the slide floor about 14". Since that's the heaviest part of the chair I wanted to have solid support so I welded together a frame of 1 1/4 angle iron that was 54" wide by 38" deep then laid in 5/8" plywood inside the frame. I used the elevator bolts that held the seatbelts to secure the platform to the slide floor and added a couple lag screws into the slide room floor. It's extremely solid and I don't think even with the new chairs and platform that it's as heavy as that Villa sleeper sofa. It is an exit window behind the chairs but it can still be accessed as well as when the couch was there. That's a pretty short exit window! The TV is still in the front but we do plan on putting a TV on a lift behind the J-sofa directly across from the new sofa. I did add an outlet at the bottom of the galley base cabinet so I didn't have to run the power cord for the new seat up the wall to the upper cabinet.
  12. The backs come off and the bases are narrow enough to fit through the door. We have the narrow front door and the huge passenger seat and I was able to carry it up and through the door by myself. I think the base was about 25" high. They are purpose built RV furniture from their Thomas Payne collection.
  13. The the seats I ordered from Lippert before Thanksgiving finally showed yesterday. Couldn't wait to get these bad boys in and perfect timing as we are heading out next week for a short jaunt. The articulating tablet holders didn't show up with the order and Lippert is closed even though their site says they are open Saturdays. Also no documentation with the seats and it took awhile to sort out the various electrical plugs but so far they seem of good quality and have nice features like heated seats, massager, power recline and headrest and lots of lighting.
  14. Be really careful with the magic erasers. They are just very fine sandpaper. I used one on my leather car seat in a test spot and it immediately took the finish off.
  15. Popped up tonight to check out the reversing solenoid and found that it now won't run on a/c or heat pump! The fan only runs if it's set on manual fan. Couldn't dive deeper as it started to rain. Tomorrow I'll pull it under cover and take a closer look.
  16. I'm equipped to do it but don't have the time to do it lol. Also it's nearing 20 years old so probably not worth taking the chance.
  17. Too cold out to tell if it's cooling or not although it worked fine over the summer and the heat portion was working fine up until a few weeks ago. I did find a manual to download so now I'll do some troubleshooting. Looks like the reversing valve, solenoid or ambient temp sensor could all be suspects. If it is the valve itself, rather than just the solenoid is it general consensus that it would be better to replace the whole unit?
  18. My front roof air heat pump is blowing very cold air. Ambient temp outside is over 50 degrees and the rear unit works fine. Has anyone experienced this issue or happen to have a Dometic service manual for this unit? 2004 Windsor and it's the Model 630515 which I believe is the Penguin. Thanks!
  19. Yep, that's what I want. Nice job! Did you do the TV lift yourself? What RecPro seat and color is that? Thanks!
  20. That's really nice and pretty much the same layout we have. What do you have across from the seats. When the chairs are reclined can you still walk past to the cab area?
  21. RecPro sure has some mixed reviews. Unfortunately they seem to be one of the few players in the RV furniture game!☹️
  22. We have 72" basically between slide wall and galley counter. If the sofa was cushy and had recliner controls on the top side we could probably squeeze to 74".
  23. Time for the ultra uncomfortable villa sofa to go and be replaced with a recliner/loveseat or dual recliners. Finding that many from the furniture stores are too big for our space. Can I see how you've replaced your uncomfortable sofas? Also, any experience with RecPro furniture? Thanks!
  24. You must be reading my mind. My wife are enjoying a few days off on the Oregon coast and I had just suggested that we swap out our uncomfortable sofa for recliners and put a TV lift behind the j-lounger! Fortunately we don't have a slide to contend with so it should be relatively easy.
