  1. 3 Parts needed to make this work 1-12v power 1- Led Strip 1- Controller The Controller is fairly small. It will send all the data to the LED strips via the 5 wires. I chose the 5050 series leds because they have a pure white channel. Its hard to get white out of a RGB (red, green, blue) led. So they make different LED strips that have RGBW white led. Or RGBWW Warm White. The controller will control the leds depends how many you put on 1 controller. But each controller can be added to the same zone or a different zone. If you are using a smartphone to control them this is very easy to manage. If you are going to use the smart panel it does up to 5 different zones. So you can put multiple controller on 1 zone of control. And a bit about power consumption. The photo of the the white lights on the awning about 21 ft of leds. at Full 100% white brightness it draws about 1.8amps. All other colors at 100% come in less about 1.2 amps or less. And when you dim them the amp draw will drop as well. When i have it set to about 40% which is a nice amount of white light. I am drawing about .7amps. So figuring the Patio light is likely on a 10/15 amp fuse i am in the clear. I chose these because they are dumb controllers and you can control via local Bluetooth. Their are many different controllers and such out there. Trust me i do a whole 10,000 led Christmas display at home every year. So these controllers are simple and easy to use, setup and control. I preset the lighting color and brightness for them to turn on to when power is restored. So the use of the patio light switch is great. Turn them on and poof you have light. Then if you want to get fancy from there you can uses the smart panel or smartphone to change colors. And a correction on my other post i said gorilla . Its the Crocodile Wipes from Home Depot. They are great. As for the existing Patio light. I took out the bulbs. And wired up a some White LEDs through the switch at the bottom of the patio light. Took out the tube lights and lined the inside of the light with the 12v LED. I will work on taking a photo when i get back out there.
  2. Be happy to give all the knowledge I have. But it’s fair to say it’s not all plug and play. - I did use the patio light for the power source for the awning led strip. - opened up the patio light and removed the bulbs. Pulled power from the coach and used that as the main power to the BTF led controller. Mounted the controller in the porch light it self. drilled a hole from the left side of the light and passed wire through there. I will get photos next time I am there. That 5 conductor wire ( reason for 5 conductor is multi color leds) runs I. The gap under the awning to the front of the coach. This looks a where it joins the led strip. From there I had pre soldered the cable to the strip. And ran the strip down the side of the coach on the awning underside. I used some 3m double sided prompter before I stuck the led strip down. The led strip comes in 16ft. I have about 21 ft of awning. So I chose to cut 5 ft from another roll and solder them together. This was the toughest part. Practice on a piece your not going to use first. Now that wire I ran in the gap does not fit well very loose. So I used some black silicone and put some dabs on the wire and pushed it in with my finger. Messy it can be. I like the gorilla wipes that you get from Home Depot. They seem to clean up very well. when I’m back at my computer, I’ll work on posting some more information for y’all
  3. I just added some LED lights to my Awning and Steps. I feel like the turn out was great. The Steps where a bit of a challenge but it looks great. I went with BTF Lighting from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B089YFVPFF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Added a remote controller https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08X2GV1NG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Using BTF light controller. With Bluetooth https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09NQ15B5K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I like that it works via bluetooth to smartphone APP. Full color changing and able to set a timer to turn off. I added both to the Patio light switch. And set the lights when turned on to a default White at a certain brightness. Its going to make it easy for the wife to turn on the lights and move one. With the Remote control and the App you can change the lighting scheme. I created 2 zones so the Awning and Steps can be controlled together or separate. Fun little project. Might do the under carriage next. Still trying to figure out what replacements for the rope lights to do. I might use the same setup. But need to find the rope lights that are a close swap.
  4. Nice Eye. It's all good. parked on a downhill the toad is detached. No way it would have hooked up that low. When in Travel mode it comes up to the proper height.
  5. Ahh the Fog lights i have yet to test. but i went with this called Aux Beam link below. I went with 4 inch and it does not fit in the exiting location. So i mounted them the best i could. Until i bring more tools with me to open the opening of the fog light area. Not by much. Just need to open it a bit. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08N66CVGG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 If they put out the light that i saw in the early hours of the evening. I think they would be great for backup lamps. I personally dont see a need for better back ups i relay on the backup camera that doe a good job with the view. I am going to replace my Dock Lamps with LED to see how well it puts light out at night. vs the halogen ones. Trying to get the overall power consumption down. Which i have already done with all the interior lights. Except for the rope lighting. Thats on my list but have not dug into what the replacements look like.
  6. Mike i have these photos. The swap out was pretty easy todo. The toughest was getting to the screw that holds the top of the bracket. Quality seems to be good thus far. Have yet to hit any night time view with it. But soon enough i will get some night shots.
  7. dully noted. I will have to work on adjustments in the late evenings. Idaho in the summer does not get Dark until 9:30ish.
  8. I would have to agree as well. I was all excited to put some on. But again after my first drive the mirrors show everything i need.
  9. Replaced the Headlights on the Executive today. Ordered from Headlights.com Perfect Fit. Since i have the black band in front i went with the black ones. After all said and done it looks fantastic. I feel like when you look at the coach dead on it makes it seem like a newer coach by about 5-10 years. Will have to update you all upon a night time run.
  10. After my first voyage. I can agree Love the Engine breaks. I feel like use it too much. But it does wonders i took a few good decent's and too where able to make them with out touching the service breaks. Thanks for the Videos will watch them to learn as much as i can.
  11. Thanks for all the feedback. CSS nice setup as well. I have ordered the black headlamps and look forward to see how it plays with the color theme black band. I will look into the Fog lamp replacements. I have already replaced all close to 50 little puck lights to LED. That is a HUGE wattage savings for sure. I noticed on your signature tag you are running solar. I was going through the wiring diagrams and see that their might be a chase way near the Refrigerator vent. Are you using the stock inverter? Mine is Xantrex which i think will take solar inputs from what i have read so far. Interested in what you have for Solar? We use a lot of Victron which i really like. Do you have a photo of the front of your Coach what the leds fog lights look like?
  12. Thanks again for all the great support pre purchase. Did our maiden voyage 2093 miles. From Boise,ID to Pahrump, NV onward to Bay Area, Calif. And back through Reno, NV back to Idaho. Pulling our Bronco with out issue. And an average of 6mpg. Might have been able to stretch it a bit more but got a little throttle heavy at times. Only had a couple minor issue, Sani Switch broke fixed on the road, Passenger visor mount broke. Fix that too on the road reenforced it mounting bracket. And a couple of plastic latches to repair. Overall very happy with my purchase and the quality of our Coach. Look forward to more adventurs to come. Note: I need to order headlights and change out to LED. Night driving was horrible. I will be checking peoples posts on Headlights, Fog light upgrades to LED. And see what kinda of replacement Back up camera i can put in. I was thinking about putting in side view cameras. But the mirrors on the Coach are Perfect minus the chrome bubbling. Not sure i need any side cameras.
  13. Ok that is DONE! Picked it up today. Rode the dealer hard the did a great job on delivering a nice clean unit to me. And really cleaned up with Rims, Tires and Good Wash. Although it was not a easy come get its ready. Jumped in Fired it up and was going through systems checks. And the Radio Head unit was not coming on. Checked house batteries where turned on and disconnect. Would you know they killed the House Batteries. Service guy came out asked what was wrong. Said this thing has dead batteries. Went back in side and the pulled the unit in and replaced all the house batteries. No questions asked and got me on my way. Gotta say i lucked out if they had any bit of juice in them. I would have been out of pocket. Now the Journey begins. Still loads of questions for everyone. But 1 step at a time.
  14. Dennis - Thanks for the great feedback. I am looking forward to getting into this unit. I finalized everything at the dealer and Gave them a laundry list of things. Including a full detail of the unit. They have completed everything and i should be picking up tomorrow. This forum has been a great help thus far. Feedback and reading a lot of other posts. I have a good handful of things to do when i get it. Upgrade Radio with larger flat screen, Add additional monitor for Sideview cameras and Aladdin system display. Will be working on upgrading to all LED, adding led to basement bays, Replace sofa. Just as start. I will look into the wiring of the macerator. Also need to refresh the panel that holds the switches and alike in the wet bays. 1 Step at a time. I am in the Boise,ID area. Planing our first trip to visit some family in a couple of weeks in Nevada. Thinking of towing our car as well. A bit timid for a first trip. I have driven other RV 35ft with 20ft trailer pulling. Never a coach with a toad. I will likely be a non issue wont even know its there as some have said. I will check out your blog for sure. Thanks again and to everyone as well.
  15. Will thanks for the feedback. I am open to all feedback and opinions. I am very capable to do most work my self and will leverage this forum to do so. I did have a laundry list of things for the dealer to fix but very little , Lights and little things. Oh and the missing lower half of the ladder i put back on them. So they are getting a new ladder. Yes this one does have the ISM 500. I look forward to getting it on the road and get into the adventures.
  16. Thank you all. I look forward to it. Yea there are a couple of things that need to be addressed. But nothing Major that will keep it going down the road for sure. My next is to figure if the current Brakemaster 9000 that is installed on the coach will run an Air Force One unit for flat tow? of if i will need to change things out. Hoping that the coach side is good that i can put an Demco AirForce one in the tow vehicle.
  17. Well it was worth buying. Worked on the paperwork today. Have a small list of repairs for them to take care of before i get the keys to that old Coach. Got conformation that they have done : - Chassis Inspection - Oli Change -Gen Oil / fuel filter List of todo's - Replace some Light bulbs interior, CO detector, 1 Dock light, Replace wrong silicone on roof w/Dicor, Passanger seat stopped working plug came apart. Worked on other visits. And a Detail Inside and Out. Told them it was unacceptable for delivery. Looking forward to receiving it soon.
  18. The RF18 looks like a decent unit. Might be something to look forward to changing. Also like the idea of heated tile. I wish i could find the exact same tile thats in there now. i know that would be a long shot. They do have 5 pieces of left over stock in the rear closet. But not enough to go from the kitchen to the entry.
  19. Looking at this is not as bad that i have seen on the unit i am looking at. But again. Form afar you have no idea. Beautiful Coach
  20. This is starting to sounds like my BMW motorcycle forum about Oils. 😀. I hear you all on all fronts. David, Thanks for the reach out. I would be more than happy to reach out. Let me know when are good times. Not sure i have much more for questions but i bet i can come up with some. Appreciate Feed back.
  21. Thanks for all the great Response's. This group is truly amazing. I do like the large awning and not having a slide near the entry door. I can see the huge benefit to access the basement while the awning is out. Interested did you have to remove a window to get the new Fridge in?
  22. Vito the checking is only bad and visible on the black. I did get a quote to repaint the black only for about $4k. To keep the coach in a nice presentable manor i might just have the black redone. At least it would give a few more years or more of looking nice and clean rolling down the road. You where spot on i asked about a whole paint job. If i was going that route then i could design anything i wanted. LED there are some lamps in there that i think have a small ballast which might need to be removed or modified.
  23. Thanks Tom. I plan to do some Home Assistant Integrations at some point. Should be Easy enough with current wiring and such. I will need to hunt down changing things out to LED for less power consumption. I will dig through the forum i am sure i will wind what i am looking for. Thank you so all for the great feed back.
  24. No Problem just wanted some of your feedback. I think i have done a bit of research on repairs and such. That i feel comfortable going into it for sure. I am good with many things and if their is a schematic i can figure it out. Little up front cost to spruce it up. Like new sofa and changing bed from Queen to King. And other little things new display head unit, side cameras to start. Then getting a flat tow setup. Down the road would be having the black repainted so the looks fresh and remove carpet and tile it all the way through. And upgrade refrigerator to house style. And that is about it out side of up keep and maintenance. Oh Solar for sure Might make it to the top of the list. Have lots of solar stuff from my business. I would like to go that route 1st. But i am sure i will want to add more batteries for storage. Will just roll with what i got for now. Will keep all posted look forward to road ahead.
  25. Thank you all for the great and Honest feedback. Posting some photos since they say more than words at times. There are Service Receipts with repairs to the Aqua Hot bad level sensor, Seals and sunshade replacement. And to some of the comments i have looked at all nook and crannies trying to find Water leak, Wood issues, Wallpaper peeling and not finding anything that i can say humm possible problem.
