  1. Thanks Dennis for all the great info. I have replaced the front headlights with new lens and LED better than what was on it before. But not Super at night. Still drivable with the LED fog lamps helping out. Taillights where an issue with a cracked lens looking dirty and then a small mistake on my part got the other side. I found an aftermarket set on EBAY. and Then when i checked out the exact match of Stock showed up on me search. I canceled my order and picked up the other set. They are like new and only put me back $80 for the full set very clean condition. I do have the protector on the front. Its not too bad at the moment. At some point it will have to come off. But i think i can ride it out for another couple of years. Now to the macerator Yes it works and well. I will have to look but i dont think its 18 gauge wire. i will have to check it might have been replaced. I did put in a new fuse as the old one popped on me. And the Switch it self stopped working. So i have been keeping it up to date. I ended up getting a Stinky Slinky. And was disappointed it did not fit in the stock tube mount. Got it for backup. So i am going to put a box in the front Generator compartment to store. There is another user here who did a great little add on in the front for this type of storage. TPMS i am torn on this one. All my Tires are 21's But i have heard and read this both ways it either works with out issue or its a problem child from the beginning. 1 Thing i do before we depart is check the air pressure. And if needed i will Air up before leaving. Have a great battery powered pump. Milwaukee 18 volt that will put in upto 150 psi if needed. And i charge batteries on board in between. I do have a slow leak in 1 rear inner tire i need to take it in to get fixed. Just have to get the timing down on that one. Or hit truck stop on the road.
  2. I just checked my Mirrors today should have taken a photo. But looks like i have the plastic Heads. And have some bubbling on the chorme. I will need to figure that part out my self. The Arms look to be in good condition not sure if they even need to redone. The base mount though is something that needs to be redone. They are not super bad some bubbling on one side or the other. I will need to think this one through. I have a trip coming up so need to sort out my timing. Thanks again for all the great feedback.
  3. Dennis Since i have had unit i think April ish. I agree the Tag is great. Not sure i would want to go with any thing different. I do need to get get it weighed to make sure i have the rear Tag pressure set correctly. I have been towing 2 different cars. Ford Bronco and Ford Raptor. They both pull very nice dont even know they are there. I am using the NSA surge brake with Roadmaster Blackhawk. Simple installation and fuss with brake buddys. I will note the Northwest RV supply info. but the coach is in great condition. And i feel like i made a great purchase. Seeing and hearing of other newer coach owners i am glad to have a solid unit.
  4. Thank you for the update. This helps for sure. And the Mirror Head is great to know. I need to see but i think i might have the metal ones not sure. And figure out my 2-3 week time frame. Let alone unbolt them all.
  5. Thanks for the great feedback. I will reach out to them for sure. And if they have Swaps in stock even better. Good to know rough turn around too.
  6. @David Pratt are you still doing the re Chroming Velvac mirrors? If so what is the turn around time in general? Trying to work out a estimated down down so i can remove them and get shipped out?
  7. Found them on Ebay. And i had searched high and low for them. They are the original style. Here is what the description said on Ebay. "Aftermarket TYC Left Right 4 Tail Lamp Assemblies Fits 1998 Lincoln Navigator" They where a Used set but in great condition. Better than mine. for about 90 dollars for the pair. Hope this helps.
  8. Thanks all. I ended pulling the trigger on a set of these. Then right after i saw a match set like the ones that came on the coach. I ended up picking those up and canceling the order above. Funny after all my searching at length. The matching set shows up in the page after my purchase. I was looking High and Low for them. After figuring the 1st set will work on the 05 Monaco Sig. Trying to keep things close to original as possible.
  9. That pair looks more like the ones i am searching for. I will do some more digging. Thank you for the assistance.
  10. I find this image but it looks a bit a skew so its throwing me off. I have the same stay as posted above.
  11. Hey team who has replaced your 05 tail lights? I have tried the PDF and i get mixed results for what the replacement tail light is. Navigator or Explorer. Before i go buying something i would like to know if any one has updated their tail lights. I now have a crack in my Passenger rear lamp. Yes i am at fault now comes the part of finding a replacement or replacing both rears to match. Any help or models that have been used would be appreciated.
  12. Great little Idea. Gorilla Tape is Cheap insurance. I might even consider putting a piece at the top and bottom. Cant hurt. I dont expect it to fall out by any means.
  13. Ok I have a cracked windshield on my coach. I have two trips coming up one starting in 3 days. Total mileage about 1000 for the first one and 2000 for the 2nd. They can not replace it until the 10th of Oct. What risks do I run if any while I am on voyage? I can’t change my plans at this point. Just wondering what the masses have to say?
  14. Yes, I will have to dig into the cut offs. I do have a big boy. I think it is functioning correctly. I did end up getting the generator started first and running that which charged up the batteries. Yes, I will have to dig into the cut offs. I do have a big boy. I think it is functioning correctly. I did end up getting the generator started first and running that which charged up the batteries. Need to wrap my head around the charge circuit for both batteries. I think I might take the big boy out and check and clean the contactors just for safe measures.
  15. After running it for a while and taking to have the Sofa looked at. It has cleared the check Engine light. Now to do what i have the parts for. Connect 100watt solar charger to it. And find out why it died when only sitting 3 weeks. Must have some draw that i am unaware of. Weird thing is i turn the House disconnect of with the main switch. And those seem to have been dead as well. otherwise i could have used the Boost switch to fire up the coach. I did turn both Coach Batt and House Batt off. Strange was the lock unlock remote still worked. I would have thought those 2 switches would kill everything.
  16. Thank you for the replies. I think I’ll invest into a code reader as well always good to have. I am in favor as well of getting the batteries charged up and cycling to see if it goes away. Just seems odd, that it followed the dead battery. And I didn’t have it before.
  17. I went to the coach that was in storage. Had some dead batteries I was able to get the unit started everything checks out OK. Last trip was four weeks ago Now that I have it started up and running and charging I’m getting a check engine light. Any ideas how to diagnose the check engine Light. I’m wondering if the batteries are still not charged and voltage is incorrect?
  18. I am not sure what direction i am heading any more. I think i have the wife on board to have the current jack knife to be re upholstered. She wanted to have more sleeping surface to guest. But i where talking it through on how often we have guest and if its worth the work and $ to put into a new sofa. Vs having the current one redone. And which i can look at re doing the Captions Chairs. Which i think i saw a post on someone that will cut all the material and i can replace them.
  19. We are looking at replacing our sofa bed. And my wife is worried if we buy a conventional sofa it will weight too much. I only ask because to keep my sanity. What would the max weight a slide can handle for a sofa? Yes I know loaded question. 2005 Monaco exec.
  20. Welcome JBaldy. As a recent owner of a 2005 Monaco Exec. A bit bigger than what you are a looking at. But in comparison that make is well made. I think it will get you where you want to go Plus more. Everyone is correct you will have to do repairs as time goes. But if its sound and has passed your sniff test. And maybe even an inspection. Its a great make and should treat you well. You would be driving a DP with an engine that could be serviced at almost any major truck stop along your way. What i have learned thus far in my journey. Is the older models where built a bit more sound and not just slapped together. Your base of the chassis and engine are a solid base. The fear of " Am i looking at the wrong coach?" was in the back of my head too. But with education and this forum. You in the right place with the right people i think it will work out for you.
  21. Welcome Greg glad you found this great Gem! of a Site and Coach.
  22. Information to share with all incase your run into needing to replace them. My 2005 has factory LED marker lights. And as the holy grail of PDFs on this forum. They call out to be a Dialight 200-51A. And they do not seem to be available readily for replacement. But a great 2nd is this Grand General 76320. I bought a couple different ones and this was the best fit DOT approved and looks good. You can find it on amazon if you need it right away. Grand General Amazon Link When i went to pull the only one out it was siliconed in there for good. And with the age on the plastic it broke apart. I thought it was going to be replaceable bulb. However it was LED i pulled it out and put 12v to it and only got 2 LEDs dim. The replacement is exact size. Had to dig out all the old silicone before laying the new one it. Ended up going with a nice large bead of silicone so i could lay it in and press it down. Then screwed it in same holes. Then made sure to apply a nice finger lick and seal around that whole lite. Said part is now i want to change the rest of the front markers to match. So that will be the next project. Hope this helps someone in the future with a marker lights out.
  23. 3m adhesion promoter for 3m tape. Not sure if its a gimmick but i hear that it does work. 3M Adhesion Promoter Crocodile Cloth i like how they are tough and clean up a lot of messes. Plus they do great with cleaning silicone off walls and hands well.
  24. Well i guess its a good time to go into the Step LEDs. This on was tough on trying to figure out how to get the LED to its location. I decided to goto first step. This was a tough decision but i felt that if i had leds on the first step it would give a better glow. So here is how got it done. From the Step back to its power source. Cleaned the metal undercarriage with Crocodile cloth and then wiped clean with another cloth. Then i applied 3m promoter where i stuck the LED strip. Now when i came across the bottom of the step i had to make a 90deg turn. This is where i soldered the LED Strip to the 5 conductor wire. This was the toughest part i think. As i did this in the field. And would have been smarter to do on the bench and bring the LED strip and wire all together to the step and cut wire and led at install. Note i did put heat shrink on all connections. The Wire from the LED i dressed along the step corner to an opening at the back of the step just under the 2nd step. I used a Gorilla caulking that sets up quick to hold the wiring. From the hole at the rear top of this step. I used 2 zip ties at this point to keep the wire tight. From the point of these zip ties i left a loop the same distance of the first step about 12 inches. And then zip tied again to a top rail that crosses the top step. This was to allow the wire to free loop and move when the step goes in and out. From the last point of zip ties the wiring goes to a wire loom that is just front of the passenger side shock. There is a wiring path that leads back of the coach and then to the passenger wheel well. From the inside of the passenger wheel well. I was able to locate the wiring going to the passenger control side. I used a small long screw driver flat head. And pushed a hold through the foam. Then i feed the wire through this hole into the passenger side controls bay. From the passenger control bay i pulled the cup holder and plate to open up this area. I found the Patio lighting cable that sends 12v to the patio lights. And made a Positive connection to that and found a good ground connection. I installed some Wagos to bring 12v +/- wire up to the cup holder hole. Along with the 5 conductor wire. Then i connected the 12v and the 5 conductor wire to the LED smart controller. And programed to a new zone on my smart panel controller and added to my smartphone. And replaced the top plate and then pushed the controller and wiring in the cup holder hold for future access with out having to pull the whole panel out. Yes this was a bit of a challenge for sure. And i could have elected to goto the front of the coach and over to the control panel under the drivers side for power. But i wanted to make sure this was part of the Patio light toggle. So that when the awing light / porch light was turned on it would turn on the Step light as well. But with the challenges the end result is impressive and well worth the headache. Again i will need to get some photos of it completed. But this should give you a good idea. -
