  1. Good time of the day everyone Please see pic attached. Mine have developed some rust at hinge of the storage bay doors. Any advise as of how to prevent further problems. Please don't look at the dirt, I promise I will wash it as soon as good weather arrive here in Canada. Thanks in advance Greg IMG_3576.HEIC IMG_3577.HEIC
  2. WOW!!! 🫡 You guys are awesome! 👍 I took few days to process received information. And I have to say THANK YOU. The idea of using isolation relay.... Love it.
  3. yes and yes. I have a keypad and only one remote. Which I keep safe. You right, maybe by pressing keyfob it will lock everything. Haven't tried yet. Adding momentary button shouldn't be hard - agree. I just procasinate to touch dashboard. Its whole new project... So many thins to do there... I would like to change placements of buttons as well. Keeping this project for a winter.
  4. Moderator Edit. This was the first post in a new topic that was similar in content and questions of an going topic that has pertinent information and has been merged for better responses. End of Edit. HI guys Maybe I am paranoid type. Or maybe I dont want to be involve in situations I dont want to be in. So here what Im thinking of - Lock button to lock everything from inside. Like every other modern car on road today. Any thoughts?
  5. Yes you decide right. HOWEVER (very important) is maintenance records. It could be right coach, and then you would hear something like, and Im quoting: Motor under bed was changed... :-0 Please study subject more, go check it yourself. Be prepared to get on your knees with flash light. "Knowledge is power" not sure who said that... You don't want to be in situation, when honest sales person let you roam around someone else's MH and you find rats poop everywhere. In conversation later you mentioning that, he would say, again Im quoting: ITS OLD POOP... It take time, and effort to get right coach. I didn't said perfect one. Good luck!
  6. Yes and yes. There is one way valve in the circuit, or sometimes called check valve. Lets fluid go one way and won't let it go back.
  7. Oh..h that generator slide.... I can tell you how much I love it... First off all - I have all (or most) receipts from new, from previous owners. I know for a fact they had a problems with it. I have a problems with it. The whole rack-n-slide is nothing special. Any DIY backyard tinkerer with welder can make one. The pump and hoses situation is.. to simply say it ...not great. In 2023 I can assemble better system with store shelf parts. Took me a whole day, taking it apart and cleaning and blowing and replacing fluid and trying to flex my brain back into 90's to understand it. It still work intermittent. It cheaper to crawl under, undo pin and slide out by generator by hand. I might rebuild system one day. But then, how often do you need to open it? And it rattle on start up or on big bumps. Just the nature of it. So to simplify what I saying - keep it simple. Less to fix, less to worry. And one more thing, if slide is on the front side of the bus - it have to have safety pin! To prevent it flying out forward, during emergency activities 😉
  8. Maybe Im too late with solution, but I would try: rubber hose - diameter same as hole - and bigger diameter screw with rough treads.
  9. Bob - please update us, in separate post, how it is working out for you. I am very surprised to hear that Toyota product can be flat towed. And interested.
  10. Hello I don't have toad now. I used to have '16 Jeep JKU. Bumper and winch. Did all myself. I did study very hard all aspects of towing Jeeps. My opinion, the weak point is where mounting point for bumper, meet the frame rail. I hope you following me... Mounting point. It's to where you bolt the bumper. Take a look yourself. ... Its doesn't matter right now what bumper, mounting systems, or even grade of bolts you using... Jeep, as a modern vehicle meant to take a hit at front collision. So they (FCA) design it that way. Google it! You absolutely have to reinforce that area. No, nothing will fall apart. Many people tow just like that. I know.... But, to DO IT RIGHT, ether weld it solid. OR buy reinforce brackets. On the same note, many respected persons in off road communities, DO NOT recommend winching your vehicle from bumper attachments !!! Only from dedicate winch points. Again, Im not preaching, just sharing what I have learned over the years. I upload pic of mounts Im taking about. Good luck and be safe. Greg
  11. Good time of the day to everyone! My name is Greg and I am the new owner of 2002 Windsor 38 PBD in green scheme. I believe I am the 4th owner. First I would like to thank everyone for preserving information and knowledge about these machines on this forum. Its a treasure trove for one who is searching. I also would like to acknowledge the previous owners of my coach. You guys did an awesome job in preserving this coach in such a great condition and keeping all the records and receipts. I simply couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw it first time. Great job and thank you! I have been searching, sometimes passively, for a “right” A-class MH for about 7 years now. Previously my wife and me owned a travel trailer and full size pickup. Kids were small and it worked OK for us for some time. Then, suddenly, kids grew big and pickup wasn’t big enough for all of us. And trailer suddenly become crowded. And I won’t even mention that according to my wife I had complained a lot that nobody was helping me to set up the camp each time… So, pandemic came, we didn’t use our trailer. Prices for used RV went “thru the roof”. So we decide to sell our trailer, and a truck. That was a good decision. No more worries that trailer would flood, or tires dry out, or someone break in…. I felt very relieved. Life was easy again… But secretly, I still wondered around certain websites. No, not those websites. I was looking at buses. Just looking, pondering on idea. Scroll forward, till the moment my wife said: “Kids have summer games this summer. We will have to attend, maybe we shall start looking at motorhomes?”. My bottom jaw probably hit the floor, like in cartoons. I couldn’t believe she said that… Scroll forward sleepless months, worries of getting a lemon, or one that doesn’t work. Have you heard the old Russian proverb: “The less you know, the better you sleep?” I can attend to that. After checking few potential candidates, and confirming some of my thoughts, which I won’t mention here, I will say - you have to do your homework. And I really mean that. Sales people - they just that - sales. Do you think ice cream shop employee know how ice cream made? What ratio of indigents? Or what they are? NO! They don’t. They just sell it. Same here. My motorhome is a Canadian resident. Sold new at Westgate RV, Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. First owner traded their 98 Windsor for it. Last owner was from Alberta. Now under my ownership, I brought it back to British Columbia Canada. I am very happy with purchase. I knew most of what I was getting ourself into. Wife approve it now too. We did few trips with it already. It performed more then I anticipated. My research lead me in the right direction. Buying a diesel pusher was right thing for us. Size is good, layout good, colour scheme is great, condition of the MH is super. And did I mention it has 126K mi on clock? Yes, yes! It has been used. But you would never guess that. Of course its not perfect and there are things to do. I am in the trades professionally, and I think I am capable of doing most of the maintenance myself and few other things. Or I am too naive … We shall see. See you there, Greg & Maria
