  1. Good suggestion, stopping in Kenly,NC at the Truckomat Truck Wash I95 exit 106. Will be nice to have it cleaned before the new AC's are installed.
  2. Good advice too, have used it on both coach and pick up. Just need a good wash, polish and have wheels looking shining again. At home we use a detail service that does a great job at a reasonable cost. Hoping to find one of those before we get home in June.
  3. We are leaving Port Aransas TX after completion of 2 months spent in the oil patch as gate guards in some very dusty locations. Our coach needs a thorough wash job and wheel polish. Traveling from Port Aransas to Clayton NC then onto Cambridge, OH. Anyone have a favorite location to have a coach washed at along those routes?
  4. Some time ago we decided to replace 2 13,500btu AC's with new Penguin II units and a new CCC thermostat. Figured after 21 years of use it would be a good investment. My primary concern was the existing 5 button thermostat failing me and leaving us with only one AC unit that was replaced 4 years ago and had the updated CCC thermostat installed. Having all 3 AC units on the CCC 10 button thermostats and upgraded from 13,500 to 15k btu's seemed wise. I purchased Dometic model #‎‎9600003813 Penguin II Low Profile Rooftop Air Conditioner - AC with Heat Pump and Multi-Zone CCC II Control Board - 15k BTU/h Portable White Air Conditioner from Amazon just before the price jumped $245 for $1577.89 each plus tax. I also purchased a new CCC thermostat and had the whole works shipped to Franks RV in Clayton, NC to be installed. I have no desire to save the old 13,500 btu units with heat pumps AC's or the 5 button thermostat and are available. They are Franks to do as he sees fit. As I recall, some wise man a couple of months ago gave me Franks as the "go to place" to have this work completed. Thanks goes out to Tom Cherry for this.
  5. I'm going to take your suggestion and purchase some binders for just that. Great idea, I've down loaded many manuals on my laptop but that is useless should it crash as is a possible. Nothing like paperwork when a problem occurs.
  6. I wish I had such a manual as the owner's manual has very little in the way of service paperwork for either the engine, trans or gen set. Thank you for the lists of required service on my 10kw gen set.
  7. Your timing was perfect. Was planning on a full service of our 10kw gen set first week of May. Was wondering if there was more to have completed then just oil and filter. Now I can give the tech at Freightliner a list of what I want done. Our 10kw only has 1400 hours but I don't find anything in the records the PO had that shows any previous service.
  8. Depends, if yours are 3" puck lights then mine will work just fine.
  9. Actually we return to Bellingham every year for a couple of months to visit family and complete a yearly service of our F150 to have it fully ready for another year as our toad. Actually could visit them and see what kind of costs are involved and a schedule of when possible. Thank you for the suggestion.
  10. Wow, never expected so many good shops existing on the routes we travel each year. As we have kids and grand kids spread out from Bellingham, WA to Cambridge, OH we try to make a round trip on a yearly basis and spend the winters in TX. I've got some work ahead of me checking out the many quality shops available and making a decision on where to go. Thanks for all the input from everyone, much appreciated.
  11. CCW sure looks good. Will need to call them and see what kind of schedule I can work out. This is exactly why I posted my thread so I could locate top quality shops that I can get top quality work done. Thanks for all the help.
  12. Have you used them in the past? Their facility looks impressive, will give them a call and see how far out we would be to have the work completed. Thank you.
  13. As the title says we are looking to have some work done by a qualified facility. Planning on carpet removal, front Capt Chairs replaced, and some woodwork remodel of living room area. Wood like front TV replaced with a Roku 40-45", couch replaced and a possible electric fireplace installed. Not looking to spend 6 months having it done but rather a possible 30 day project. I am able to travel anywhere in the south west to south east and most anyplace except northeast and west coast. Anyone have a favorite location? Already headed to Clayton, NC to have AC's replaced in May based on a excellent tip from a member here.
  14. I have no yellow wire nor do I want the passenger seat foot rest disabled while I am driving. The wife has had the foot rest working in the past, both while I am driving and when I am parked. The powered footrest just quit working a couple of months ago and I am now just trying to repair it.
  15. I have Kustom Fit seats in our coach, passenger seat doesn't want to raise the foot rest. I called Kustom Fit and learned they are now owned by Villa and had no support available for KF owners. Spoke with Jeri at Villa and she sent me what she had regarding schematics but it was not much help. Does anyone have a schematic of the passenger seat with the foot rest option? Or know any particular RV shop that specializes in electrical repairs on these seats?
  16. I changed all our ceiling 3" puck lights with these from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Facon-3Inch-Aluminum-Recessed-210Lumens/dp/B06XR85Y7B?pd_rd_w=hMj49&content-id=amzn1.sym.f2d28eb3-77c3-4c91-a745-724ad4914c8c&pf_rd_p=f2d28eb3-77c3-4c91-a745-724ad4914c8c&pf_rd_r=P3D6ZJDVKFPDN635526S&pd_rd_wg=4xGS7&pd_rd_r=a8f4db35-00f7-45dc-a141-67ed2fdad2af&psc=1&ref_=pd_bap_d_csi_rtpb_bap_sim_0_t They were pretty easy to install and a direct replacement for OEM.
  17. I ordered a new Sharp R1874T 850W Over-the-Range Convection Microwave, 1.1 Cubic Feet in Stainless Steel for $648 delivered to replace my existing Sharp R-1850A that has been having some issues. Mine was built in 2001 and installed in my 2003 coach.
  18. I have a 2003 version of the 1200 Norcold and when we bought our coach it would not cool very well. We put up with it till we got to JC Refrigeration in Shipshewana, IN. The removed the fridge and converted it to dual 12V compressors, one for freezer and the other for the fridge. Freezer maintains -1* easily and fridge is consistantly 37-39*. Best $1500 I ever spent.
  19. I have been told the SM210 is a direct replacement for the SM209 modules by many sources. Since I have a perfectly good SM209 in use now and another SM209 that works but has a badly burned J12 socket I see no reason not to try a SM210 as it is considered an improved version of the SM209.
  20. I tend to agree completely with you, the present SM209 module is one I purchased originally to replace the bad SM209 that had been installed when I purchased the coach. After purchasing the coach I bought a second SM209 from Visone RV as a spare. It still works fine although the J12 plug is burned pretty bad and sometimes my headlight wiring for the new relays I installed don't always work immediately. I swapped the module for my "spare" and it wasn't much better. The J12 plug is just too burned up to give me a good contact 100% of the time. After I get my new SM210 I will gladly give someone a good deal one of the SM209 modules I have.
  21. I decided not to have the 2 SM209 modules repaired but instead I purchased a new SM210 module and a J12 plug in harness from Northwest RV supply. The cost for the SM210 was not much more then the repair to a single SM209 module. I'll install the new module and replace my burnt J12 plug keeping my goof SM209 as a back up spare. The two SM209's that need repaired will be kept but anyone that needs a core can have them for free. Thank you for everyone's input and it helped me make the decision to purchase a new module.
  22. When I purchased my coach last May it had a failed VIP SM209 board. and I replaced it with a used board from Visone RV. All is good now but I would like to have the bad board repaired so I have a spare onboard. I modified the headlight circuit so that the VIP SM209 board only operates relays for the headlight circuits. Searching the internet has put me onto Radwell and they offer replacements as well as repairing existing boards. https://www.radwell.com/en-US/Buy/VEHICLE IMPROVEMENT PRODUCTS/VEHICLE IMPROVEMENT PRODUCTS/SM209 Anyone have knowledge of their service?
  23. The receptacle will be used for only supplying a small utility trailer that has been converted to an RV. I am only supplying 120V power so the owner can power up her battery charger. After checking my main power panel I find the refrigerator is on a 15A breaker that now is unused as my fridge has been converted to 12V.
  24. My Norcold has been converted to dual 12V compressors by JR Refrigeration so the only receptacle being used is the inverter supplied one for my ice maker leaving me with a receptacle that is not presently used. I will look into using it to supply my need for 120V power. Thank you.
  25. Plugging the trailer into my basement receptacle is fine when on shore power or generator but if I'm off both of them the receptacle remains "hot" and is getting its power from inverter which I don't want. Plugging into Block Heat receptacle permits me to terminate supplying power when ever I want to.
