  1. Not only is Frank the expert on the Kongbergs CCM (and many other things) the way he communicated with me threw out this process was top notch customer service something we just don't normally see in today's world. I still have a lot to sort out and check on the coach to make sure that everything is correct before I plug in the new to me and repaired switch modules. Of course, I am supper busy now for the next couple months with other previous commitments and don't want to rush and want to only be working on this without any interruptions so it will probably be 60 plus days before I will know if everything else is good. I for sure will do an update and am hopeful that the mess a previous owner/service center created can be put back to factory.
  2. Thanks to Bob Mackie (Bob125) I was able to purchase one master and two slave modules from him, those 3 plus 5 other modules that I have are headed to Frank to be checked to confirm they are all working correctly. Hopefully after I get all of the modules back from Frank and correct some wiring the coach will be back to OEM.
  3. Chuck Thanks for contacting me I am getting the ones I need from Bob125 but if something happens with this transaction I will contact you. You should contact Frank McElroy on this site he can repair the OEM switch modules. Do not throw the ones you take out away. I Just sent you a PM also. Thanks Steve
  4. Clarification: I had the u-shaped bracket/rod laying the wrong way in the picture above and the shoulder bolt I mentioned was incorrect there is no shoulder bolts that holds the u-shaped bracket/rod in place it was lying beside the u-shaped bracket/rod, so I was assuming it went with u-shaped bracket/rod it is just regular bolts with nylocks, they were also lying with the u-shaped bracket/rod. I shouldn't have to remove the step cover to reinstall the rod hopefully but if I do, I will document the process. The repair that a previous owner did was where the rod went through the flat bar. Yes, I will be redoing this repair/weld not even close to my standards. I should have looked at the original post pictures closer and I would have seen all of this was missing on mine, I guess this is how we learn. Following other people's repairs or half repairs is always fun, seems I have been doing it my whole life and this coach is defiantly no exception.
  5. Ok mystery solved on my step cover. The rod is missing when I just went and looked, I had been wondering what this u-shaped bracket was laying in the basement storage compartment now I know. It looks like it broke, and a previous owner had welded it and never reinstalled it. Now I need to locate one more shoulder bolt there was one with the rod so at least I have a sample and can machine one if I can't find one. Thank you so much for the information this could have taken me sometime to figure out on my own.
  6. Thanks Al The pictures and video really helped. I think I need to install some stops some place somehow for the cover to hit sooner my stair well is a little different, my step cover hits the door on the handle side and is allowing the cover to come out too far and puts pressure on the door, not good. Mine raises on the door side fine but this type of system has to have pressure and or stop for the backside interior side to raise. It looks like this is the way mine came from the factory and is a design flaw. I will update if I come up with a solution or find something is missing in mine.
  7. Step Cover. Not sure when Monaco made this change but there is very little to no information out there that I could find on this style, just like the original post indicated. I had searched trying to find some information a couple months ago on this style step cover mechanism and found nothing also. Not the best system in my opinion but then again, if there isn't any information out there maybe they don't fail.
  8. Glad that helped. Funny that you posted this as I was just about to post asking for some pictures or video about the way the step cover worked mine just doesn't seem to be correct hitting the door frame before raising.
  9. Thanks Bob, I just sent you a PM. Sorry for the slow response to your message this morning I have been planting trees all day and was away from the computer.
  10. Check for a restriction on the inlet side of the compressor. Pull the outlet line off the compressor and check for any oil in the line if there is oil in the discharge line the compressor is falling. Not sure if Monaco used them but on the class 8 trucks they have one way check valves that can cause problems. I have seen some air valves leak when there's less air pressure, may be try putting around 80psi and shutting off the engine and checking for leaks. Also, probably not the case here but check your brake can diaphragm on the spring brake assembly these can leak when the brake is released. If the spring brake assembly is leaking don't take it apart unless you know what you are doing you can lose your arm or head.
  11. On my 2009 Dynasty has the same window regulator looking mechanism for the step cover. I believe there are 4 or 6 bolts that you can access from underneath that hold the whole thing in place, on the top are welded in nutserts. I have never had mine out but looks like that is how it is held in and not sure you have room to get it out please keep us updated. Mine seems to come out against the door before raising and then leaves a gap at the floor and step cover, I would like to see some more picture to see if I am missing some kind of stop or something or if this is just how Monaco built them. The picture circled in red is the nutsert on the top plate.
  12. David As indicated in the post, I got the coach with them missing and don't have them and who I got the coach from didn't have them either.
  13. Please read entire post before responding to help with any confusion. I will try and keep this short and to the point but still explain the situation. Frank McElroy has been helping me, so he is involved. Thank you, Frank. I have acquired a 2009 Dynasty Bishop with the Kongsberg CCM system and unfortunately the dash Eaton switch modules have been removed (I don't have them to be repaired). Someone did do a work around on some of the required circuits. Want to restore to OEM. Looking for the Kongbergs/Eaton Master Switch Module P/N 16623947 or 10121223 also P/N 16623951 would work this is the other master module but can be reprogramed. I have found 5-switch modules that are downstream from the dash master some will need to be reprogramed but we all know that Frank can do that now. I live in Oregon about 130 miles from Coburg and was able to find 5 new switch modules that I needed by personally going to that area this is really the only way I was successful in locating the 5 I did find. These are the locations I have personally gone NW RV Supply, REV Group in Coburg, Oregon Motor Coach, Premier RV Service, Biship (Guaranty), Beaver Coach in Bend and some others. I have reached out to The REV Group in Indiana and every salvage yard in the county that I know of probably about 12 of them, I am on many lists if they get any of the modules, and every other parts resource that I have found across the county. If you happen to see a Dynasty, Signature or HR, I think some of the Beaver coaches also had the Kongburg CCM in the 2008 to 2010 range that was wrecked someplace, please let me know yes, I am looking for a needle in a haystack. Is there anyone that is close to the REV group in Indiana that would be willing to go there personally and check for me I would compensate you for your time, reason I ask is I have purchased 2 of the switch module from the REV group in Coburg but they are not in their inventory and completely deny they have any, but they really do just not in their inventory so who knows what they may have in Indiana but a face to face may help. I also had to politely ask them to bring out every switch module they had so I could look at them when I was at the Coburg location, they didn't really even want to do that when I was standing right there. Attached is the master switch module I am needing. If you have any of the switch module you want to sell, please reach out to me even if it isn't the one below it may be one that would work for me by reprograming.
  14. Premier RV (premierrvservices.com) Premier RV in Junction City Oregon. I haven't personally used them but have been to their facility a few times, the building is not much to look at on the outside but it's the old County Coach factory and there are a lot of ex Monaco and Country Coach employees that work there, and the remodel work I have seen seems to be top notch. It's quit the story if you look into it. Yes, there are some great resources in Eugene, Coburg and Junction City Oregon.
  15. On my 2009 Dynasty with the CCM the air solenoid and pressure regulator are on the right side (passenger side) of the generator a blue supply hose and a yellow hose exiting the pressure regulator. Mine will work without the ignition being turned on and I can hear the solenoid clicking by pushing the horn button when there isn't any air in the system.
  16. Tom, thanks for the information. Looks like one more thing that I need to do for some preventive maintenance.
  17. On my 2009 Dynasty with a CCM it is located in the passenger right side console on the back side, it's a small round looking speaker. On my Dynasty the wires come out of the handle keypad and go's straight to the speaker. If you lift the storage tray/compartment out you can see the speaker if yours is the same as mine. Hope this helps or at least eliminates one possibility for you.
  18. Back to the main topic of this post. Mr Frank McElroy has more knowledge on these Monaco's and Cummins engines than I can ever imagine and has the answerers to any question asked at the tip of his tongue I am still in awe all the time. I was in the proses of purchasing a Dynasty with the Kongsberg CCM in the fall of 2023 then discovered their issues thanks to this forum and was going to back out of the deal. I became a member and then PM Frank and within minutes got an email response back, then within a few minutes later Frank called me and what I learned in the next 5 to 10 minutes on the phone with Frank was more than I could have ever imagined. I sat in my office chair for a few minutes after the call ended just processing the conversation but what I was mostly thinking about was what I had learned in such a short amount of time and that this man really knows his stuff. Again, I am still in awe the knowledge that Mr. Frank McElroy has and shares Thank You Frank.
  19. Here is a link to the Fleetguard coolant webinar training video from February 2024. Well worth the 1 hour of time. Being a heavy equipment mechanic for 40 plus years I still learned and had several questions answered. FYI they just had one on oil and filtration, also worth the time. Training | Fleetguard
  20. If you are going to use any type of power grease gun, be very careful it is very easy to over grease things. In my many years as a heavy equipment/diesel mechanic. I have seen more than I can remember seals on bearings being blown out, brake S Cam bushings being over greased to the point you get grease on the brakes and u-joints with seals blown out and over greased with grease flung everywhere. yes, this all happens because of the operator. Point being if you are going to use a power grease gun just be careful.
