Capt Mike
Having an issue with my road side bedroom slide on my 2008 Knight 38PDQ. It will not come in when hitting the switch, it does make a noisy rattling sound and always has. This time it made the noise but didn't move. I have everything exposed to work on the unit which the tag says it is a Lippert above floor sofa slide, LCI model #114754. The motor and gears that I can see are ok. There is a shaft with a hole in it maybe to manually get the slide to move? I may have to give the slide a push from outside? Any ideas from the knowledge base here would be greatly appreciated! 96 EVO
Can't see it in any of your pic's, but there's usually a place to put a socket on (5/8 I believe), and manually move the slide. Pushing from outside while someone presses switch may also work. Sounds like the clutch system is slipping!
Capt Mike
Looking at Lipperts site I see the 5/8” on slides where the mechanism is located under the slide in the basement. I don’t see it on this slide. Starting to rain here so I’m on standby. Thanks for your input.

I even drilled a hole in the bulkhead so I could get the socket on it without removing the panel above the motor / gearbox.
Capt Mike
Thanks 96 EVO, I’m going to have a closer look, it “seems” like I have everything exposed. Hopefully the rain will let up and I’m giving my back a rest too 🤷♂️
Solution 96 EVO Posted April 12, 2023 Solution Share Posted April 12, 2023 If you have one, it should be facing the bulkhead where your storage area is, under the foot of the bed.
Capt Mike
I’ll have a closer look in a little bit. Thanks, this group is simply awesome.
Capt Mike
96 EVO! I found it after taking most of the mechanism apart! And I fully understand what you did. I’m going to drill the access hole like you did. Thanks so much.
96 EVO
Great! Keep in mind, as your slide retracts, the motor / gearbox doesn't, so you will need to add more extensions to your ratchet.

Happycarz
I drilled a 2” hole so I could use one of those caps for running computer cords through a desk. I finished with a descriptive yellow label.
