  1. 2006 Diplomat , Looking to replace window seal at copilot seat. Is there a specific seal to order are these seals the soft putty that will squeze out. In either case caulk is required. If they are not special design I guess I can use rubber weather stripping from Home Depot or Lowes. Don T. 2006 Diplomat
  2. I have a 2006 Diplomat and am looking at changing my belt and tensioner. I am guessing , because of RR This change can only be done from under the coach or do I need someone above and underneath ? Or is it a one person job? Looks like a real pain. Don T.
  3. We had a very similar problem with our steps ( 2006 Dip ) Had to disconnect the turnbuckle and tie the steps back to get home. Turned out the step motor was bad . Tested motor using external 12 Volt battery. Replaced motor and all was well. Short time later had to replace control module . Don T.
  4. Not sure where your located If you are in South Florida I have used Darren Thomas Glass in Sebring ,Fl. Excellent work. Just had my windshield installed there. Doing side windows next. They travel most of Florida. Check out there web site for One time fix for foggy windows. www.neverfogrvwindow.com
  5. I had the same problem on my 2006 Diplomat a couple of years ago. Changed the Nason switch located under the buttons for the trans shifter. Easy fix. I bought a new one some have done there own rebuild. Cost around $70.00 delivered. Just for info, you can go to the trouble shooting guide for the Power Gear levelers on line and you will find a proceedure for leveling in manual mode while your Nason switch in on order. I did this for a couple of weeks. Don T.
  6. Bob, I do have 12v constant at the Lamps and they do come on when a new ground is applied. Doing this takes the switch out of the circut I guess (no on off). Now I need to trace that wire to find the reason for not working. It might be easier to just run a new wire. Thanks, Don T. Dennis, Your right all other grounds are white. I am definitely not an electrician but Bob Nodine explains how it works. Thanks, Don T.
  7. All other functions on all switches work normal. Seperate location but Porch light and Map light are ok. Wire positions on step light switch: Looking at print ( Google search) : shows Black wire step light ground position 2 , white wire step ground position 3 , Position 7 white wire Ground and 12 Volt Power orange wire position 8 . Is one ground ON and the other OFF. I did a continuity test and it does change with on , off position . Note on Print Step Lights are Active Low. Not sure what this means. Don T.
  8. Just tested to known ground ( Jumpered to entry step ground ) No 12V. While checking further I do have 12 V to the switch from the main supply. Additional Info: I should have said this is the 4 gang switch panel on Passenger side arm rest area. Don T.
  9. Been trying to get my step well lights working. So far I have checked the switch and I believe its ok. Had 51-53 Ohms across top two pins ( position 7&8 ) and the 2 ground jumpers both check ok with continuity and its light flashes when battery is turned on. Bulb worked ok checked them direct on battery. Have been tracing Red and Black wires from the lights and they eventually go into a large bundle of wires that go toward the main electrical panel under drivers side. All fuses check ok. I had no voltage on red and black wires anywhere. While tracing I did another check to a new ground position and had 12V on the red wire. Is the Black wire going to ground in the panel on drivers side? Not sure where the ground is or where to look next. Checked chassie ground checks ok. Don T. Admiral RVr 2006 Diplomat DST
  10. Richard, Thanks for the info on VMAX. Those really look good. I spent most of todat looking for Batteries. There are so many options out there I just get more confused. So I will keep looking again tomorrow. Really appreciate all your guideance. Thanks, Don T.
  11. Richard, I live in Lake Placid ,FL so hopefully I will find AGM Batteries at Sams Club or some where else close by. When you say "True AGM" does that include Golf cart Deep Cycle? Looks like Batteries Plus has a good selection available. Don T.
  12. Richard, I am leaning toward AGM I'm not sure about specs or Brand. Been looking at Sam's club going to check Batteries Plus. So many to choose from. Does the AGM spec about the same as Lead/ Acid? From what I have read the Magnum is minimal change. Thanks Don T.
  13. Bob, Great advice . I applied that to resolving my problem. Problem was solved by removing the shorted battery from the circut as suggested by Dennis. When I made that change everything reset and worked well. Now I am still looking for replacement batteries. Not real clear on AGM vs Lead/Acid. My Interstate set lasted 7 years which I thought was good. Again Thanks to you Both, Don T.
  14. Bob, sorry for the short reply earlier. I was driving and asking my wife to type what I was saying. We are now in a CG and plugged into 50A. Still have same problem . Inverter is not turning on no charge and no invert. I do have one very dead 6 volt house battery and another that is close to dying. Checking voltage on house batteries is 12.2V. The one very bad battery checks 5.8V. Can this be the problem? Not sure what causes Backfeed. Is there a reset process? Some say disconnect positive cable at inverter. Have not tried that yet. At home plugged into 20 A it kicked the GFI in RV and house. Never had that before. I am going today to start my battery shopping. Sam's club price looks good. Not sure about changing to AGM . Thanks for your reply Don T. 2006 Diplomat DST.
  15. I checked main power panel output while on generator it was ok.
  16. Never had this problem. . I was pluged into house 20amp and all was well. Un plugged moved RV and plugged in again got the Backfeed Fault on readout. Red light is on and the green charge light is flashing. Not sure if I need to reset or how. The Red light is solid not flashing and I am getting no battery charge. Running Generater and no charge to batteries but getting 120 volt on each leg. 2006 Diplomat DST Don T.
  17. Sorry fotr this slow reply. I did replace the control unit and it did solve the step problem. For those that have the SCS / Frigget steps shop on line for best price .The module I purchased is #164889 and the price ranged from $149 to $250 on line. Don T.
  18. Thanks to everyone for your replys I am convinced it is the controler and will order a new one Monday. Diane, the info on sources and prices are a lot better than Amazon. Thanks. Don T.
  19. I hope this is in the right place for advice and help. Our coach is a 2006 Diplomat DST. Our steps stoped working while traveling. We got them retracted by removing the the drive/lift bolt. Later determined the motor was bad and replaced it. Steps started working fine for a couple of days. Now they stopped working. I have got 12v to control module and to the motor. Operated the new motor with jumpers.Light works and can be turned on and off. Steps do not retract when ignition is turned on. I did wire brush ground connections at the steps. When I place a magnet on door magnet I hear the click but no action on steps. Now I guess I need to replace the control module. Trying to identify the modle and a part number and do not find any info on the current unit. On line I have found several that say the are drop in replacements This number 164889 is mentioned a lot on Newmar coaches have not found info mentioning Monaco. Has anyone used this part number or is there a different number I should look for. Looks like most of these are in the $200 dollar range ? Thanks for any help Don Tucher

  21. Same here. Tow truck driver removed drive shaft completely stored it. When we got to service facility I made sure he did not leave with drive shaft accidently.
