Jack James. How did you run a wire from driver's area to the rear. I needed to run a wire from under the dash to the lower outside of the firewall. Could not find any existing boots. There is a removable upholstered panel at the bottom of the lh area  that houses shifter and switches

 Nothing. I ended up poking a hole in the boot for the steering column. It was temporary so no big deal

08 Dynasty

On out 08 Diamond 4 there are 2 pocket doors. One at the entrance to the bedroom and one between the walk thru bath and the living area. Each door has on "bolt" at the bottom. There are holes in the floor.

Thanks to Frank and Tom I have partially solved my problem. That J2 connector was  the problem. I. Pin5. I just sprayed it with electronic cleaner and the radio is on. But the  back up/Alladin monitor is dead. I installed the Voyager replacement for the Sony monitor last February. .  I do not have time for further  diagnoses . May notes say to connect a white wire that used to be the Sony power to the red wire which is the Voyager power. It was connected. . I removed the solder joint and temporarily reconnected. Immediately the radio is dead and the monitor still does not work.  There is one fuse  near the radio but I am not sure what it powers. I need to remove the monitor and and   connect a fused 12volt to see if it comes on. I am suspecting either a connection problem or a dead monitor. We are leaving Mexico on Tuesday and I do not have time to work on this problem. That whole area is full of wires. I had to remove the radio and the HVAC panel to access that mess. I find it strange that Sony would  use a white wire for 12 volt positive. It does have the odd red  mark on the wire. I wonder if there is a monitor fuse from the old Sony monitor. The Dynasty has a small monitor in the bedroom and it still brings up the Alladin.

Thanks Tom> I have to admit I have never used this file. I fooled around and once I figured it out I see that the Monitor has a fuse in the RRB. I will find that tomorrrow. But the radio diagram shows the fuse but it says underneath: 15-J1-5. Where is that?? The radio fuse in the FR bay is good but no power to the radio? I could just steal some 12 volt from another wire but would prfere the correct way. Thanks

I am having trouble with the BU monitor and the radio. My unit has been sitting in my shop for 3 months. I used it yesterday and the monitor was working. Today it is back in the shop and the monitor is dead. I can hear the alladin beeping when I  use the control. I cannot find the fuse.  I finally found the fuse from the  monitor I installed a year ago. I just stopped for lunch. In the meantime I need to find the fuse for the radio. In the FRB there is a fuse marked radio but it is fine. I would just run a new power  wire to the monitor but it needs to go through the junction block for the Alladin system. Sorry if I am rambling. Getting too old for this stuff!

There used to be a fellow who posted in a few forums. He was an engineer who specialized in filtration. Worked for Cat and then Cummins.

 He was against all of those washable  filters. He did not like to open up your filter housing as it can spread dust into the system. What really would help is a larger filter.  But in most rv applications there is no room for a larger filter.

Washable filters can kill a diesel engine. We use a lot of air and you can end up dusting your engine

When we were looking for a coach in 2008 we visited a number of mfrs. Narrowed it to Monaco or Tiffin. We visited the Tiffin facility. At that time Tiffin had a free CG and a huge service facility. The workmanship was sloppy. But you could bring it to Tiffin and they fixed everything. Many of the workers worked privately after hours doing upgrades. Very inexpensive. We left and went to Lazydays in Florida. They brought a Dynasty and a Tiffin to their CG and parked them side by side. Left me for 2 hours. Then we did a test drive in both units. The Dynasty won hands down. We ended up buying one I'm Georgia

 Tiffin had a cult like following.  That changed but the quality has dropped in recent years. My  2 cents worth.

I would either call Cat tech support or look online for their pages of info on Coolant requirements. Cat has some of the best support of all the engine mfrs.

Just to add more cofusion: If you own a Monaco product with trailing arms that were replaced by the original "Monaco" you still have a problem. Monaco did not improve the original arms. They simply installed the misengineered garbage. The op and anyone else that has the original style arms should not install anything other than Source built arms. There is a video that shows the engineering that went into these Source arms. I do not care if you are a welder or know a super welder. Spend the money and get the best.  They are expensive and worth it.

My OTC jack stands are rated at 22 tonnes( not tons) for each stand. Very beefy.

I plan on removing the rear wheels on our 42. ft. Dynasty.  I will be 81 this spring and heavy work is no longer possible. I have a young man that helps me with the motorhome. Our MH has no jacks but the tag axle actually has a lift mechanism. I know to jack up both sides. I do have an X12 trorque multiplier. I do not have a large torque wrench. I was planning on buying a HF air wrench that is advertised to handle 1000 ft. lbs. I do haven IR 5Hp 60 gallon compressor. Will I be able to lift the tag axle high enough with the manual controls? also have 2 20 ton jacks and a 20 or 30 ton air over hydrulic jack along with  2 low height OTC jackstands and 2 higher ones. I do not have those 2 inch qq. tube lenchs to insert between the frame rails. Next I will need some advice on  removing the drive axle wheels. I have done this on our Bluebird but it did not have a tag axle. Are the lug nuts 33mm?? Thanks

The worst part of Starlink is dealing with the business practices of Musk. He raises or lowers prices at will. Changes the technology without giving you the opportunity of upgrading. There is no customer service toll free #. I am told they do not respond to emails.  I have to wonder if things will change when Amazon enters the market. Despite my whining we are considering buying a unit. Amazing technology.

When I was looking for drums for our Bluebird I found a crossover chart to Webb drums.  Webb not only mfrs. drums in the USA

 they also sell off shore drums that meet their standards. If the drum you need fits many other vehicles you may find one by Googling using the info for that vehicle. You also may find a post in a truckers forum with more info. Happy hunting. 

I admire your ability to "keep on trucking". Too bad you do not get paid per view.

On our 08 Dynasty I run 115,100 and 95 I was running 110 in the front but the alignment shop said to add some air to the front. Handles well.

On my 08 Dynasty there are wires that come from the dash to the drivers side area with all the switches and shifter. Monaco use crimp buttons connectors on some of those wires. I was told by Monaco that sometimes causes  data communication problems. The Deutch connectors have been known to have connection problems. Don't know if any of the above helps .

Self paying could end up costing many thousands.  If you follow any trucker's social media a 10 mile tow can cost $2000 or more.  Some towing companies are ruthless.  We have been with coachmet for over 25 years. Fortunately have only needed them  3 times.

If you are going to Quartzsite this season there is an informal group of Monaco owners. Nice bunch of fellows. One of them is an expert on this subject. I think he has adjusted over 50 doors. No cost!

You are looking at the wrong dealers. OTR trucks rarely use the 295/80.But if you go to real tire dealer they are available. Simple Tire has about 4 models. They ship to a dealer in your area who looks after the instalation. You can also get them with the FMCA tire buying plan.
