  1. Tom. When did they destroy the Roadmaster chassis?  And why? Rev never got involved until Navistar gave up. Navistar paid nada for Roadmaster. The judge had agreed onthe pittance that  Navistar paid for Monaco. But rhen Navistar realized that Roadmaster was not included. They did not want to buy it as they coukd be liable for warranty claims. The judge just added the assets to the Monaco "purchase" at no additional cost. The above is my old man's recall of that horrible event.

  2. I still use the us gear  unified  tow brake system IMHO this is the best toad brake ever built it is proportional and uses the vacuum booster. New units are  not available but I bought one NOS system and a used system. I have enough spare parts to keep the system in working order for many years.  It is permanently installed on the toad  so only an umbilical cord yo connect.

  3. When our Dynasty was less than a year old I eas having trouble with bathroom lights turning iff at random. I was in Elkhart and found a place just across the border in Michigan. 2 of the fellows had worked at  Monaco. H said that Monaco had too many lights on a 16 ga. Wire. Changed to a heavier wire and all was good. If everything is off and you only have one light on do you still have a problem? Anything beyond that I bow to Frank  and Mr. Whittle. True experts.

  4. As a business owner I firmly believe in the following: It is easy to appear like you look after customers when things go well. But when there are problems how these problems are handled  separates the good from the bad. In this case JC should have fixed the problem. His lack of concern could cost him  his reputation. Sometimes it pays to realize that you have made a mistake

Immediately  he should have quickly offered to make it right.

  5. I have used final change in all my motorhomes. Meets every mfrs. requirements. Available in most truck stops and even some Walmarts. Napa as well. O use an inexpensive refractometer  from Amazon to  test. I drained the old coolant into a bucket and poured into old gallon oil jugs. To refill I drop a 120 volt utility pump into a 5 gallon pail. Pour in coolant. Utility pumps have a garden hose outlet. No pouring into the  rad resevoir required.

  6. The problem is that the smaller norcolds use the same cooling unit as the 1200. Not big enough and it  overheats. What do they use in late model motorhomes? Did Norcold ever redesign the 1200? I never hear of anyone having trouble with the larger Dometics. I see that Furion makes a residential that is the same size as the old Norcold. RV mfrs like Furion products (Chinese)

Even some of the microwaves are Furion. Cheap product. I read that of the mfrs. are getting parts for the infamous Schwintek slides from China

If you have never seen those slides they are designed to fail.

  7. I would never install one of those 12 volt fridges. They are not very big. There is a reason why RV mfrs. do not install 12 volt units.  Our first fridge was a side by side

About 19 cu. ft. New one is  a 22 cu. ft. French door. It is amazing. When shopping for groceries we can buy larger packages. I had to lower the floor but it was no big deal.

  8. Monaco installed Jenair or Whirlpool. Same manufacturer. Instead of risking damage to the dash or chair we chose to bring it in the emergency window behind the driver. Samsung makes the worst appliances known to man. Same for LG. Dealers carry them as they get great discounts. I almost bought a unit with the Amish double 110 volt conversion. Apparently they work well. However you still have a unit with bad hinges and door seals that are not replaceable.  Owners chose those conversions because it is harder to install a residential fridge. Do not take the easy way.

  9. There are 2 review wb sites for RV's. Both are horrible . One site shows reviews from 10 years ago. Neither distinguish between pull trailers and DP's. Truck Down is for 18 wheelers but some will work on DP chassis. There is an extreme shortage  of HD technicians so shops are very busy. Many either do not have space for a DP or they do not work on any RV. Mobile RV techs are usually very good on things like slide outs,12 volt electrical and even gensets. Truck Down lists mobile HD mechanics. When I was driving long haul I had good experiences : ABS sensor, air valves, alternator, starter motor, ride hight valves. Some even have a good selection of common parts. Stay away from Freightliner,TA and any truck dealer. Unfortunately  in some areas they may be your only choice.
