  1. Several years ago I had issues with my multiplex system and I bought a can of NoOx electrical contact cleaned and one by one removed the multi pin connectors and sprayed them with it and then plugged them back in. My problems went away. Every once in a while, an issue will come back but is very seldom. Tom Gibbens ’15 Dynasty
  2. I reversed the front window shade because it had a lot of drag along the curved vinyl molding. Is there an easy way to reprogram the multiplex system to reverse the motion when the raise/lower button is pressed. I thought I could just reset the upper and lower stop points but that did not work. It is an auto motion shade. Tom Gibbens ’15 Dynasty
  3. We ended up stopping at the Girard service center in Red Bay primarily because it was on our way from Missouri to South Carolina. We had them replace two motion sensors on the two patio awnings and they eaeplaced our entry door Carefree awning with a Girard awning with LED light in it. Also our 8’ window awning had a shorted motor so they replaced it. They did a great job and even adjusted some of the awnings so they closed properly. They found that REV techs had adjusted the height of the front patio awning to match the rear one but had forgotten to retighten all the bolts. Not a good situation! If you are near Red Bay, I highly recommend them!
  4. I received a drawing from REV Group support that told me the fuse number and size. I replaced it and it immediately blew again so I know it was the correct one.
  5. I will be traveling to the southeast this summer and need to find someone to work on my Girard awnings. Has anyone found someone who is dependable and reliable in the SE? Tom Gibbens ’15 Dynasty
  6. Yes, and REV even replaced it and its air compressor. It did not fix the issue.
  7. My entry awning will not retract and when I checked for power at the switch, I got no voltage. My Girard manual says there may be an awning master switch but I haven’t found one and the other patio awnings work. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this? I looked for a fuse but did not find one for it. Tom Gibbens ’15 Dynasty
  8. We have struggled with air noise around the entry door on our 2015 Dynasty for 6 years! Recently, the awning over the door stopped working and we were ready to leave Arizona for the spring. We manually retracted the awning and put a couple of tie-wraps around it to hold it secure. Since then we have had NO air noise so apparently the solution was to adjust the awning to close more tightly. I may even add a gasket to the bottom edge of the awning cover to make it fit tighter! Amazing! Tom Gibbens ’15 Dynasty
  9. I have had similar issues but mine turned out to be that the catch for the latch had gotten loose or was not adjusted correctly.
  10. Go to the website vehiclerecords.net and type in you VIN and it will tell you.
  11. We went to the service center in Decatur, IN and they thought they had it fixed but it failed a second time. The first time it was a broken hose right at the fitting and we lost all fluid in the pump. I disconnected the pump once we got to our site. The second hose blew the hose out of the fitting at the pump and we lost fluid again. They replaced that hose but the pump failed and couldn’t not be bypassed so they replaced the pump and all is well now. Cummins said the ruptured hose was a front leveler hose but the Decatur Tech said it was a rear leveler hose and they replaced it! But that hose blew out of the fitting and then they said it was a front leveler hose when in fact it was the hose they replaced. We were not billed for the second hose and I suspect they screwed up! At least it is fixed now.
  12. A moth or so ago I posted that I had a broken hydraulic hose right at the pump. Cummins turned me down as they said they couldn’t figure out the routing but they just didn’t want to take on a dirty job! I took my coach back to the REV service center in Decatur and they put on a new hose and filled it with Dexron IV fluid and said it was good. We left to go home and got to the campground and the new hose blew out of the fitting and emptied the reservoir! We are now back in Decatur for repairs. My question is why would that hose fail? Can the pump over pressurize the system? We had not even tried to level the coach. I stopped at a rest area about an hour before and there were no leaks then. Does the pressure in the pump vary or is it constant? This system only serves the levelers and not the radiator fan or power steering I’d like to hear your comments so I have a better knowledge of this system. Tom Gibbens 15 Dynasty
  13. Now that the weather has gotten colder in the Midwest, I have turned on my radiant floor but only the rear section is working. The from controller shows it is on but the floor is cold. I checked the breaker and it is not tripped. We have not removed any floor tiles and there are no breaks in the floor tiles. Not sure how to trouble shoot this but would welcome any tips or hints you might offer. When the heating system in in the heat mode the front thermostat shows the three squiggly line Sybil to indicate the floor heat is on but that does not occur for the front zone. 14. My system is American Technologies and yes, the main computer is in the outdoor compartment. I am adding a couple of photos. The one with one above the other is outside and the top is the CPU. The other photo is of one of the local control boxes where just unplugging a modular Jack and plugging it back in would sometimes fix the issue. Tech support even had me swap out the local control with another in the coach but that didn’t help either. They kept saying it’s a cable issue so that’s why I kept working on the connections. Eventually, the issue just went away!
  15. I have a ‘15 Dynasty with multiplex switches that I struggled with for several years. I could remove the pad and there were two modular jacks on the back. I could unplug from one and plug into the other and it would work for a while and then come back. I bought a new pad but same issues. I bought a can of electric contact spray (No-ox) and sprayed the contacts and went to the inverter bay where the main controllers are located and removed each cable one by one and sprayed them and reconnected. Still no solution. After doing these things for 2-3 years, the system now works with no problems! Very annoying in the meantime. Also make sure you have no moisture getting into the main compartment and running down the controllers. Moisture and electronics don’t mix well! Tom Gibbens ’15 Dynasty
  16. This hydraulic system is used for the levelers and I was advised to remove the power connection to the pump to keep from burning up the motor because there is no fluid in it, which I did. We are using air levelers only. I will check with other hydraulic companies before heading to Decatur. Thanks. Tom Gibbens ’15 Dynasty
  17. Obviously there is more to all this that I was not aware of. This is a ‘15 model so the slides are all electric. The levelers are Tru-Line made by Valid. We had no trouble steering so there must be a separate pump for that or it is electric. Can’t tell if side radiator is hydraulic or electric. I count 8 hoses connected to the pump at the rear and it looks like there are 5 solenoids. The Cummins truck said there was not enough room to get to the hose that broke off right at the end of the fitting. The hoses apparently turn down into a tube right behind the pump at run down into the frame. I thought that someone could use a portable hydraulic compression tool to crimp on a new hose/fitting but they were not aware. I called Monaco and they said to bring it to Decatur, IN, which is closest to us. I appreciate all the input and will suggest these at Decatur. Tom Gibbens ’15 Dynasty
  18. On a recent trip, we broke a hydraulic line at the fitting just above the Hydraulic pump and sprayed hydraulic fluid all over the back of the motorhome and tow vehicle. I took it over to my Cummins dealer for service on it to repair the line and they said they would not touch it because there is not enough line to press a new fitting onto and the lines run down to the frame in a tube and then run to the front levelers inside the frame. They have no idea how they route so I checked with my Freightliner service center and they told me the same thing, take this back to the manufacturer. I understand, from talking with others, that these failures are not uncommon. I guess my question is if you have had issues with hydraulics, can a new fitting be pressed onto the existing line and is it reliable? Cummins pointed out that several other lines were showing signs of stress and they recommend repair and replacement of all lines! Tom Gibbens '15 Dynasty
  19. While at the Lincoln FMCA rally, I had the Girard techs try to adjust our patio awning and see why it did not deploy completely and the motion sensor was not sensing wing movement. They told me I have a broken spring in one of the arms and the whole arm will have to be replaced. We have a 2015 coach and they said Girard quit making parts so I will have to buy three new ones to repair it. Does anyone know of a surplus dealer that might still have the parts to fix it? TomGibbens ’15 Dynasty
  20. I do this when I change my water filter element by unscrewing the housing, removing the filter and put the proper amount of Clorox in the container and then screw it back on. Then I fill the fresh water tank. First though, I drain the fresh water tank. TGibbens 15 Dynasty
  21. I need to replace my roof air antenna and contacted Monaco to get a diagram of the roof construction for anchoring purposes but they referred me to a dealer to get that info! They build it but don't know what the built? Anyway, does anyone have info as to whether there is a plywood panel under the fiberglass roof to secure the new antenna to? Tom Gibbens '15 Dynasty
  22. We have a 2015 Dynasty and I update ours about twice a year and like it really well You need to type in www.randmcnally.com/dock and follow instructions on their page. To upgrade, you remove the SD card from the GPS and insert it into your computer. It will check for updates and once done, remove and reinsert it into the GPS and you’re done. Pretty easy!
