  1. Our towed windshield has gotten pitted from rocks, sand, and dirt. Has anyone come across a coating or some other way to hid those without replacing the glass? Can the windshield be buffed out? Tom Gibbens ’15 Dynasty
  2. I switched mine out to a GE PVM9179SK5SS. A word of caution though is that this model has a door that hinges at the left edge which adds to the overall width. Just make sure your clear opening can handle that additional width.
  3. I recently replaced my batteries in a 2015 Dynasty and considered golf cart batteries but they as well as Exide batteries only had a 6 month warranty. Mine are 6 volt AGM batteries and I went with Full River DC224-6. Not cheap but has a full 2 year warranty. We are full timers so these never get stored. Tom Gibbens ’15 Dynasty
  4. There’s a fuse in the unit under the cover that likely blew. Might check it.
  5. I need to replace my deep cell house batteries after 7 years of use. My current batteries are Discover-Energy model EVGC6A-B, 6 volt type. I am leaning towards Interstate batteries but am in need of recommendations and suggestions. I am also open to other manufacturers. I could use a comparison chart to match what I have to other manufacturers but don't know if there is such a thing. Tom Gibbens '15 Dynasty 45D
  6. After 7 years of use, I need to replace our deep cell house batteries. The are presently Discover-Energy model EVGV6A-B 6 volt batteries. I am looking for recommendations on the manufacturer. I am leaning towards Interstate Batteries but am open to suggestions. Tom Gibbens ’15 Dynasty 45D
  7. Yesterday, while sitting at an RV park that we’ve been at for two months, our GPS/radio started to beep. Sometimes short beeps and sometimes longer. Tried calling Park River to diagnose but are still working with them. Checked the voltage coming from the chassis as well as from the accessory and both had constant voltage. The beeping occurs whether the module is powered up or not. After powering it up, it shuts itself down in about 1-2 minutes. I have pulled the fuse in the chassis circuit to stop the beeping. Has anyone else had similar issues? Tom Gibbens 15 Dynasty
  8. You need to refer to your manufacturer’s certification tag with recommendations for tire pressure and weight distribution first and if your weight distribution is very different, I would get with a chassis shop to check your ride height. You might need some adjustments to the air valves to get it within specs. Then adjust tire pressure based on their load.
  9. I have added a couple of photos and if you look at it from the front, you can see how it narrows at the top. From the side view if you zoom in it appears that the door is bent outward. Tom Gibbens ’15 Dynasty I wii try that adjustment this week and let everyone know how it went. Thanks. Tom Gibbens ’15 Dynasty
  10. I have a spreadsheet with all of the campgrounds that we have parked in as GUI-timers for the last nearly 10 years and it has addresses and phone numbers.

  12. I have tried 6-8 different types of gaskets and some helped but still have air noise. Tom Gibbens ’15 Dynasty
  13. Our front door is either warped or was installed poorly as the gap at the top on the strike side is about an 1/8” or more narrower than at the bottom. Consequently, we have never been able to eliminate some air noise. Is there any adjustments that can square this up or will I need to take it to Decatur and have it removed/reinstalled? I have tried to adjust the stop strike but it doesn’t solve the problem because the door just doesn’t have enough space to allow it to pull it in tight, no matter how hard I slam it! Tom Gibbens ‘15 Dynasty
  14. My hose goes through a slot in the reel to attach to it. There’s a heavy duty rubber shroud on the hose there so I would have to take the reel out to get to it.
  15. I need to splice my fresh water hose due to a break in it. I tried a barbed brass connector with hose clamps but it still drips and it is very bulky on the take up reel. I t looks like quite a job to get the reel out so I prefer the splice. Any suggestions? Tom Gibbens ’15 Dynasty
  16. Sad news! Tiffin will be on the demise under Thor.
  17. Is there anywhere besides Girard to purchase a new motor? The price they quoted me was $1569.00.
  18. I did call Southwire and they make you put your question online! They WILL NOT answer your call. After nearly two weeks, they did email me that the shorting plug is not necessary and is used by the OEM during manufacture. They have yet to answer why I cannot get any messages on my remote monitor.
  19. A few weeks back I posted a question about the transfer switch not latching in on Shore Power. Turns out the issue was due to the REV tech in Decatur not doing their usual quality job. He ran the shore power ground wire right in front of the incoming lugs and when the flexible conduit shifted due to a lack of support, the ground shorted out the connection of the coil at the lug. My question now is that in the packet with the new SurgeGuard switch, there was a 4-pin shorting block but no instruction that the installer or I could find as to whether or notit needed to be installed. There are two plugs available next to the remote monitor jack but without instruction, we were reluctant to install it. I do have the remote monitor so the RJ-12 cable is installed. However, I have never ever seen any indication on the front of the monitor for normal voltage or generator status. I have left two messages with SurgeGuard on their 'Ask an Expert' tab on the website but no response in the last 10 days! How can a manufacturer of a critical component like this not have a customer support phone service!!! Tom Gibbens '15 Dynasty
  20. I struggled with intermittent problems with our multiplex switches on our ‘15 Dynasty and tried using a product in a spray can called DeOxit to clean the contacts of any oxidation. If any of the switch pads or controllers are in moist locations, oxidation is possible. It seems to have cured my problems, so far! Tom Gibbens ’15 Dynasty
  21. We replaced our Sharp unit with a GE and are pleased but did have to modify the opening. Take a close look at how the door opens. The Sharp model did not add to the overall width of the unit but the GE added almost 2” to the required width. Tom Gibbens ’15 Dynasty
  22. Sure enough, I found one under each sink and will replace them with the Home Depot model. Thanks, I’ll give it a try.
  23. Is there an easy way to stop sewer gas from backing up in the coach? I know I can close the valves and open only when the tanks are full but wondered if there was a back flow or trap that I can purchase. tom gibbens 15 Dynasty
