  1. Not only did I find them, but Amazon even still sells them! Price has come down some. Five of them for $25.   2. Are you looking for someone in the D/FW area that does repairs, or anywhere in Texas? I use a GREAT guy out of Kerrville, he comes to me. I haven't used him since downsizing, but he was amazing helping me with the coach when I needed a hand with something. I did use a mobile guy up in Dallas before I moved to the Hill Country back when I needed to have my AquaHot looked at, and he was really helpful and fair, I am sure I can find who it was if you need it. It might depend on what kind of repairs you are wanting done though, thoughts? Mike, I fully see us going back to something like we had later on in life. That Safari was just pretty much everything we wanted, other than needing some updates. I have the residential fridge in my garage we were going to install, and I LOVE your idea for updating the overhead lights, those would have been the two big items left on my list, next was going to be upgrading the steering gear. That's why I don't want to leave this group, I'm still soaking up info for when we get another Safari or Monaco later on.
  3. Last night we were watching one of "Matt's RV Reviews" on YouTube. They are now an Integra dealer, and he was showing off their $400,000 40' tag axle coach. We were watching him go around the exterior and interior, and noticing how inferior the quality of the Integra was compared to our 2005 Safari. I told the wife, I'd rather spend $60-100k on another 2005-2006 Monaco and then dump $100k into it for a total of $160-200k than buy one of these new coaches for $400k I am still loving watching what you are doing with yours.
  4. We used ours a lot. They are good for one day’s clothes at a time, or your sheets. One thing we had to learn is to only use a tablespoon of detergent at the most. And you need liquid softener. They work really well if you keep it within the boundaries of their ability. if anyone needs the chrome dryer vent kit, I have one. I will send it to you for the cost of shipping.
  5. Thank you, we are still RV'ing, we just greatly downsized. We could not get the coach up to our RV parking (we are no longer full-timing) and wanted something we could keep at home and not pay storage fees for.
  6. Just wanted to stop by and say farewell. We sold our coach two weeks ago. I did tell the new owners about this forum, hopefully they will join, they are very nice folks. They were specifically looking for a Monaco in the age range of ours, and said he looked at a bunch that were in bad shape. Anyway, happy trails everyone, I enjoyed the forum and the people here.
  7. It sounds like you are not able to be in the coach, it sounds like you are getting info from your son. You'll have to ask him to please be detailed by what he means by "nothing". If he can plug a fan or something into an outlet and it works, not only is that not "nothing", but it tells us here a lot.
  8. It wasn't plugged in. It is a long story, but let's say it's been to the body shop because someone hit it at the park - this took months to resolve, then it had to go to the tire shop, which took 6 weeks. I did not show either of these people how to disconnect the batteries while it sat, my fault.
  9. My ATS was 15 years old, not 2. :) I believe it is really uncommon for them to fail, but my poor RV has been through a lot over the last few months. On these coaches it's a learning process for sure. This is my second motor home and I also have a travel trailer, been around boats all my life, family had RVs when I lived at home, but the Monaco systems are FAR more sophisticated than anything I've had before. What learned is to look at the exact issue - Do I have DC and no AC, AC and no DC, or is everything down. One we have those answers, it becomes far easier to hone in on the issue.
  10. Or put a Trick-L-Start or Amp-L--Start in so that running the genny or connecting to shore power will charge the house and chassis batteries all at once. I've had both issues. No overhead lights, 12v, bypassed relay for salesman switch. Last week, no 120v or 240v - no A/C, no fridge, no microwave... had to replace transfer switch.
  11. Thanks! It sounds like you have the unit I thought mine came with. I tore the TT apart trying to find the control box in the cabinet somewhere, and then support said mine is the one that only has the rooftop box and nothing inside.
  12. FYI - I got the house batteries charged properly and all is well. That was it.
  13. Mine is connected through USB to an Asus router. Keep in mind if you want to continue using the extender, the extender needs a good signal too. If you put it at the back of your coach, you haven't gained anything. If your Mobley/Asus setup is at the nose of the coach, your extender would go somewhere in the fridge to bathroom area. I'm an IT professional and set up wireless setups as part of what I do, and in my opinion you won't need an extender in the coach, in fact each time you hop to an extender, you cut your speed in half due to the fact that wifi is half-duplex, so in the end you'll be worse off without it. Where it might be somewhat useful is on the outside of the coach when you want a signal at a significant distance from where you are parked, it may be able to provide a better signal than you would have if you are some distance from the coach. @waterskier_1, You must have a different Wifi Ranger than I do. Mine is the Wifi Ranger 3, which only resides on the roof of our travel trailer. I have been talking to their support due to very poor performance, and all they have to say is "it probably has a bad board, for $89 we will send you the Wifi Ranger 4". I get better performance using my little, cheap, Hootoo travel router that I used for hotels before all this Covid mess.
  14. Other than leaking, what else was wrong that it fixed? I'm just ready to not have to listen to that low air alarm for 5 minutes every time I start it!!
  15. Thanks, sounds simple, I'll knock that out today. Air is already zero because it all leaks out at that point.
  16. Has anyone here replaced their air brake valve, the big aluminum knob seen in the pictures? I have the new valve, my current one leaks badly. It looks like some simple quick connects to take it off but I want to make sure I'm not putting myself in any danger taking those off.
  17. I keep an opened box of mothballs in the engine bay, squirrels hate the smell. I've had squirrels eat my wiring before, and that was a $500 repair, so a box of mothballs is cheap insurance.
  18. Starting at almost $300k, I just think what I could do with mine with an investment of $20k and I'd still have so much less money in it compared to that new one and have so much better a coach. I may be biased, but I'm still really big on the quality of our Safari. Thanks for posting, I love seeing the new stuff come out, reminds me how lucky we are with the classic Monacos. :)
  19. I don't owe a penny, so that's not a factor. I just had to cancel a couple coming to see mine, they were coming from 4 hours away. Unfortunately I went to get my coach from the tire shop and I had 110/220 power issues. Turns out my transfer switch went out, the first thing I've ever had "break" on the coach. My luck!

  21. Thank you for the lead. I'm still planning on putting the RV on the market and I want everything to be perfect for the new owner. It's at the tire shop right now, I had new tires installed and they forgot to put back on the pass through stems from the inner duallys.
  22. Hopped in the RV last week and my in-dash screen for the backup camera and the Aladdin quit working. The red light next to the power switch is red at all times, but nothing on the screen no matter which way the power switch is located. I tried adjusting the brightness and contrast, and tried different inputs, and still nothing. I have the Sony unit pictured in the attachment. I had this happen on another coach and it turned out that the house batteries were dead. That may be the case here, but I'm confused why the power to the monitor comes on. Possibly the monitor is powered off the chassis and the Aladdin and backup camera need house power? EDIT - I just noticed the power LED might be green here, mine is now staying red at all times.
  23. We have brand new tires and the HWH Active Air suspension system, the same system Foretravel has gone to for all their coaches. I never got around to doing the TRW steering. Although ours has 109,000 miles, the coach itself is in excellent shape inside and out, considering the age. What you said about RVTrader vs. trade in makes total sense.
  24. Can the roll up ones be fixed too? I have two of the day (black) shades that will no longer retract. They are MCD as labeled on the bottom of the shade.
