  1. I replaced part of my dash with plastic and was able to find some black wrap on amazon that almost matched. Worked well.
  2. I have a 2001 HR with the cummins 5.9 and there should be a 6 pin connection under the front dash board. There is also a connection strapped on the passenger side between the passenger side of the motor and frame in the rear of the mh. Hope this helps.
  3. I just replaced mine on my 2001 HR Ambassador and they looked just like yours. If you lay on the ground and look up at the back of the headlights there should be 4 or 5 sheet metal screws that go through the fiberglass and screws into the back of the headlight assembly. I was able to remove the entire assembly and replace them. I did have to have them adjusted. Hope this helps.
  4. Jacwjames, I bought the blue sea but haven't installed it yet. Can u tell me at what voltage does it maintain both house and chassis batteries? Currently my house batteries are charged by a charger to 13.6 and my engine batteries are charged by the alternator to 12.6 give or take. Thanks
  5. Keith I was able to find the bags at Anythingtruck.com 309-623-4440. Give them a try and better get them while you can.
  6. Ncsteve I sent you a message a while back about installing the ride kit on my 2001 HR Ambassador. I ordered the kit shortly after and went ahead and bought the shocks and put them on. Jim is having trouble getting the front air bags from firestone now. I may have to go back with the standard air bags on the front because mine are getting really worn and I don't want them to go flat while on a trip. I just bought the rear bags and am getting ready to put them on but I have a question. How does the air lines attach to the T fitting ? Do I need to get a special tool? Thanks Mike
  7. Getting ready to install new air bags on the rear of my 2001 HR Ambassador. I went under the MH this evening and would like to know how to remove the air lines from the T fitting that comes out of the top of the bag. Was a little hard to get a good look at this area. Is it a slid in fitting and do I need a special tool to get this done? Thanks
  8. Seadoo the previous owner of my mh had a problem with the abs light staying on. He had the sensors replaced and then lost confidence in the garage and stopped trying to fix it. I had it checked and found the abs module was bad. Found a new/ old stock one on Ebay for 250. Replaced it my self and that took care of my problem. I was told before I fixed it that having the light on would not effect the brakes, only no abs system .
  9. Weight695 I just read your question. I don't have a picture of the sensor. If you look on the back side of each wheel drum you should see a black plastic line with small wires inside It leading to the sensor. The sensor should be screwed Into the back of the brake drum. It should be easy to spot. Mike
  10. Just came from the garage after my abs light came on. Didn't have the time to look at it myself so took it to the garage. Turns out the sensor on the RR tire had moved out a little and that was the problem. Took longer to get the mh in the garage then it did to find the problem. Next time I'm going to take the time to look at it first.
  11. Frank, Took my MH to the garage today and they were able to adjust the brake some. Said it looked like it hasn't be adjusted in a LONG time, but the pads looked good. Also found some road grime and grease. It was cleaned good using brake cleaner and they told me it should take care of my problem. I asked about your problem and their response was that your brake should hold the weight of your MH even on an incline. They told me that these type of brakes are put on large delivery trucks with heavy weight and work ok. Sorry I don't have any answers for you other then keep them adjusted and clean.
  12. Frank just came out from under my mh. I have a shift knob not a pad and I don't have a park selection on my mh. When I park, the selector goes in N and then the air brake is applied. I found an air container with a long rod that goes over to the adjuster. Now if I can find how much to adjust without going to far. I will try cleaning like u said. I will ask the garage about this on Monday. Have an appointment because my left rear abs sensors is causing the abs light to come on. I don't want to break anything by adjusting it too much. Will let you know what they say. Thanks so much for the help.
  13. Larry you were right. Have a drum in front of transmission with pads inside. The pads look good so I will go on line and take a look at the manual. The only manual I have is very basic. The shop is pretty good but I guess they were afraid to preform any work not on work order. Thanks
  14. Larry I think you are right. Trying to get the time to go under the rv and take a look. Will have more info in a little while. Thanks
  15. I contacted the shop that installed the new brakes and accessories, they said the park air brake is separate from the work they've done. Have an appointment for this Monday so I hope they can get it fixed.
  16. I have a 2001 HR Ambassador with the 2100 allision transmission. I have a shift knob and not a swift pad. I also don't have a p {park} selection on my dash. When I park I put the selector in N and pull the air brake on. I just installed all new brake pads, rotors and calibers on all four sides. Over the weekend I was on a steep hill and set the air brake and the mh started to roll backwards. This has never happen before, but its the first time I've had the mh on such a steep hill. Its works ok on flat land. How do and how hard is it to adjust the air brake? Thanks
  17. Thanks to everyone for the help. I THINK I may have found my problem. When I picked my mh up the technician suggested that I fix a couple of things and see how that works out. On my first post I forgot to post that my abs light had been on for awhile also. I drove the mh home with the abs and low coolant lights on. I installed a new /old stock ABS computer and had the batteries checked. Batteries were 10 mts old but one was tested and showed lower voltage then the second one so the store decided to turn them in for two new ones. After installing the batteries and computer I drove the mh and within 5 miles the abs and the low coolant lights went out. I have driven the mh 2 times a day and so far NO lights have returned. I'm holding my breath now and hoping the problem is solved. Taking a 200 mile trip on Monday for 4 days so I will see.
  18. Bob thanks for the input. I was able to drive the mh 50 miles to the garage at 55 mph. If I down shifted or went up a small hill the temps would start up. Soon as the rpm's were reduced the temps would go down. The trans light and low water stayed on the entire time driving and was on when I left the mh at the garage. The garage said the trans seems to be going into limb mode just not sure why. One thing I forgot to mention is at the same time my oil pressure gauge on the dash would jerk all the way to the right side for a second and return back to normal. This happen several times also. Trying to get this problem fixed because we have two trips planned in the next month.
  19. My MH is in the shop with a "Trans Light" and "low water" lights on. This first happen in maine after sitting for 4 days. When we started home the lights came on and when a computer was attached to it no codes showed up but the lights went off. Now their on again. I dropped the MH off at the shop and both lights were on at the time. They called today and told me the lights went out and they drove it and can't get the lights to come on now. When the lights are on my temp in the trans climbs very high. Their were able to get something that said communication error. They said they are aren't sure if its the TRM or the ECM or even the wiring harness that connects the two. I'm going up tomorrow to drive the MH and hope the light comes on and to talk to the shop foreman and hopefully find some answers. Can the ECM or the TRM be tested individually without taking them off to check if they are ok? Thanks
  20. I have a 2001 Holiday Rambler manual that say that the engine batteries should be charged by shore power and the gen. I did post a mistake in my original post by saying it had an inverter to charge the cabin batteries. In fact dr4film pointed out it was just a intelli-power battery charger. But as you say and from what I've seen, the manuals are for several different models. I do know the only time the engine batteries volts are the same as the cabin batteries have is when the BOOST button is pushed. I pretty sure I'm going to install the blue sea system and that will take care of this. Still trying to read and learn as much as I can about this coach. Thanks for your help.
  21. Dr4film if I change my charging system to the blue sea system can it be wired so that the generator, alter and shore power will charge both the engine and cabin batteries? Will I keep my current intelli-power charger and wire it to the new blue sea? As you may be able to tell when it comes to wiring I'm not that knowledgeable. Will most likely reach out for help with the install. Thanks
  22. I think I will order the ML ACR and take care of this. So good to have all of this knowledge to help with problems like this. Thanks to all.
  23. The inverter is a 9200 inteli-power by progressive dynamics and thats who I called. It is keeping my cabin batteries at 13.6 like it should, its the engine batteries that are showing 12.6 volts. I was thinking the engine batteries should maintain 13.6 also. The sides aren't bulging and I tested the acid on the cabin batteries and its fine. Maybe I added a little too much water and caused it boil over. I'm going to clean the area up and keep an eye on it. I noticed clubflyer's post and was wandering, If I put the SEA ML-ACR on my MH what happens to the boost button on the dash panel. Its it still connect to the batteries to help start or would I have to go back and switch the boost on and off. Thanks for your help.
  24. Dr4Film I contacted the manufacturer today and they said that as long as I had the inverter plugged into shore power the inverter will put out 13.6 volts. Could it be something on the MH is not reducing the voltage as you described above. Could it be the little black box that connects to the solenoid with the red, black and blue wire? Not sure how to test it. On any given day after sitting what voltage should my engine batteries show when tested? They are less then a year old. Thanks
