  1. HH hss as d more flexibility and less complexity than new AQ units. Think they learn a ton from HH days. Some of the AQ systems in upper end coach’s like ours carry about 12-13 gallons of fluid, when initially install book calls for 17 gal. im happy that I can run my furnace side of AQ with newer 2000w element. Previously the 1650 didn’t heat fast or long enough to keep furnace running before low temp cutout came on.
  2. We are over thinking the upgrade: so I’ve spoke with AQ hot designers and our AQHot service person who I consider the most experience guy I know. He’s been servicing and upgrading or diagnosing these bad boys since there inception of company and started installing them in RVs. The wire gauges installed for use in the 120v side will be 12 or 14 nothing different. If you have an “electrical Uglys” book you figure out everything you need to know; I.e. wire length vs load and amps. I know of at least a dozen units this mod has been done, it depends on the correct element replacement. The element wire are capstain treated wires on some units do replace like for like. My 450 had std 12 which I changed to shielded (heat resistant) although not a lot of heat external in the unit. replace with std 1650, 1800 or 2000 watt element. If you go above 1800 just swap split breaker to 30amp on element side.
  3. Yes, would not order just an Amazon part with out all above advice in measuring the typicals. Size very important. DO NOT fudge in this area. I purchased mine at a professional heating/cooling supplier. the split breaker shares the the breakers legs with Central Vac and or Block Heaters installed on many models. So consider use. with this said I trace, checked load with everything operating in coach. My breaker is shared with central vac, and my two outlets installed in 3rd cargo bay and the rear engine compartment. With both used I determined 30 amp split keeps my away from the required percentage.
  4. Short answer is, yes. But you have few things to consider and upgrade if going up in wattage also. Depends on model of Aqua Hot unit, element wiring, high temp cutout limit switch, 120v breaker for electrical element side, and finally connections repair or upgrade. I upgrade my 450DE with a 2000 watt replacement, with upgrades and new larger wiring and 20/30 amp breaker. Old breaker was a 20/20 breaker. works fine, helps with heating the coach better instead of using diesel all the time. Colder it gets less effective it will be.
  5. Many folks have access to older Monaco production build spreadsheets for a certain year and model. I have all for 2008 production of Camelots. If you have a build sheet that same number will be either hand written on sheet or printed on build sheet, in case the old sticker by door is missing.
  6. Here’s the kit part # on my order form. 01811397-00.pdf
  7. Tom thx for the input, I’m very experienced with my Camelot and have completed many upgrades. I worked with Carefree to provided a retrofit for the Apex issues. min the process of repositioning to our winter destination,AZ from the north. I will need to get all my files, have some pictures, but you can imagine it was a day or two process. Once in place I can take time to get this together and send for our group files. Next; a simple picture, a PM or DM I can get the info to them and get them started. I’ll search my previous emails with tech to get a name and contact info. Thx everyone! 10Boomer
  8. Don’t need model just post a picture from passenger side, I can tell you what you have.
  9. Let’s start with pictures! All components, your control switches, the actual awning.
  10. The ole Apex! Lucky for u I just completed the conversion and upgrade. It might be easier to talk on phone. You need tech support for the correct kit. Attached are pictures of finished install. You need a 12v controller, 110 new mother board/controller, the 12v has the Bluetooth chip and receiver in it for using the app on your phone. The big kit explains all that. new controls switches, one for led light (optional) and in-out for awning. Works like a charm! You need to verify the awning motor works also, in and out. To assist with install, upper right cabinet above passenger seat, remove the end front panel, couple of Robertson screwed. There will be a ton of wire up there and a 110 outlet for apex awning. Look at loose end wires (be careful) you don’t cut or snag wires up there. Look for Elipse awning wires should be 5 wires. after that look in passenger console for the other ends of Elipse awning wires. You’ll need to very each one for both ends. These are your new switch wires, label and rename per instructions. Pm me for number to chat. 10Boom
  11. In the middle of replacing bags on my 08 Camelot. Conitech AS-9551 no longer produce. The equivalent Firestone W01-358-9551 no longer produced since Nov21. I ended up with an Automan bag equivalent to the 9551 in FS and Conitech. I also heard via sales folks that continental sold to Automan for air springs.
  12. Many of Monaco,HR and Beavers for mid - 2000s had Manchester propane tanks. They had the contract up to the end of production. You can call Manchester to special order most size tanks for your configuration, they will weld a bug in tank for the float, you can use your magnetic gauge from old tank.
  13. Looking to do same. Mines mounted length wise in bay.
  14. Rich like many of the mods; I own a later 08 Camelot that I had to get 3D printed parts. I’m interested in the larger dyer? Why and part#? I just completed the front dash A/C updating existing all components. It’s a poor design. also are you 3D printing the Atwood window latches. Some are black and emergency windows are red. My cell 707-580-5323. Email spengracin@comcast.net. Thx Perry
