  1. The second picture looks like mine, Diesel Kleen goes in every fuel purchase, I used it in my trucks when I had my trucking business and use it in our diesel pickups and my diesel tractors. When we purchased our coach 2 years ago it ran a bit rough, after a few thousand miles with Diesel Kleen it ran smoothly again.

If you’re looking at exhaust pipes on newer diesel powered vehicles and there’s no soot on the inside of the exhaust pipe it might be that they have after treatment systems, DPF or DEF systems. The new diesel powered ones are spotless!

  2. I went to Alaska in ‘76 with my parents, we are planning on going in ‘25. The one thing I do know is , if you can adjust your time frame it might be better to go later in the year, May and June might be a bit early from what I understand, we went for the month of August in ‘76. Expect a fair amount of rainy weather and I believe the earlier you go the more rain there is.

fwiw we’re planning on July thru September.

Probably to save a few $$.

They were a strange builder in those years, offering high end equipment in mid tier coaches, that other builders only offered in their top coaches.

Then they would go cheap and install exhaust brakes in the same coach!

That’s true, the economy was starting to get wonky in 07-08!

Don, where are you located?  We have a guy here in Oregon who was a former employee of Monaco in Junction City, Oregon.  He knows these coaches inside and out. He makes furniture, installs carpet, etc, etc, etc.  His business is called Amazing Creations, he's on the Internet, his name is Scott Adams.

    You just made my day!

     Thank you sir!
