  1. Hello. I'm having some issues with my Trace Inverter / Charger. I'm a newbie so please bear with me with my wording. I own a 2002 Monaco Windsor A month ago I replaced my batteries, chassis and house. My house batteries consist of 4 6v deep cycle batteries wired in parallel series. I have an Amp-L-Start Battery Charger Maintainer as well. The Trace inverter has an RC7 remote. I also use an RV-30D Charge Control that shows me what the voltage coming from the house and chassis batteries are. My issue starts after I disconnect from shore power. Once disconnected my Charge Control will show the batteries at 13.4 or.5 .. I'll sit and watch as the voltage drops. I have a residential fridge and a few lights on. The voltage will start to drop within minutes .. Unless I'm in direct sunlight as I have 1 solar panel up top. The RC7 remote for the Trace is set to auto start the generator at 12.2V .. It will run till the batteries come to float then kick off .. That process repeats as long as I'm disconnected from shore power .. However, when the remote shows the batteries at 12.2 the generator fails to start. not even a crank. Just nothing. The remote reads 'Starter Cool Down' but the started never even tried. I can set the remote to 'Manual Start' and it still will not start with the on/off button on the remote. Mond you, it used to... When I start the generator from the toggle on the dash it will start right up, the converter will switch over and I'll have full power. . . .I had a local tech look at it .. The batteries are good. The Amp-L-Start is acting normally but the Converter Charger is showing a fault code to the generator ... Our next step is to check the data cable from the Trace to the remote and see if there is continuity for all thew wires in the cable. One thing I forgot to mention .. The tech told me they saw a code that signified a fault between converter and generator. I didn't see it yet. This is a frustrating situation. Has anyone ever had this problem? 2. Russell. I have an Opus Magnum in my Windsor. Aside from a simple circuit board replacement it's been wonderful. I've owned this coach less than one year but as per the previous owner of 18yrs, since he installed the Opus Magnum it's been trouble free. As far as flushing. The OM flush handle is on the side of the back part of the unit. Instead of bending over your deposit then flushing I can suggest 2 things. First, just reach back if your sitting and flush. Or, if standing, close the lid then reach down and flush. Personally, I love the electric toilet. I've used the pump pedal style before and they seem less like home. Good luck and happy motoring.
  3. As it is now I’m having a AQ tech come and do a full maintenance on it .. It’s been almost a year since it was last serviced. That’s being scheduled for next week 10/21 .. We shall see…. I will update once that’s been done. A big thank you for all the experienced advice. LD.
  4. This sounds like a high possibility .. The coach sat for 7 weeks at a body shop without being started and they also allowed the batteries to drain. I haven't fueled up for over 2 months .. We're currently still parked at home with plans on heading out the end of Nov. My last fill up I did add fuel treatment. I'm thinking its clogged nozzle ..Although when it does start it blows the white burn off ... This AQ does not have the LED panel. Also, it's a PIA to get to. I have to pull a storage slide out on the drivers side and crawl in on the passenger side and there are access doors .. No matter, I wouldn't try to do it. .. Thanks
  5. 96 EVO ... Yes. When I turn the toggle on for the AQ a blue light comes on, the motor starts, then after a few seconds the RPM's drop and the light dims a tad .. When its working its at this point the burner fires up. As ti is now, when the light dims and the RPMs drop the burner does not ignite and the light goes out. The more I try and the more it doesn't ignite the longer the white smoke from the burn off lasts when it does start. That is exactly what it sounds like to me as well. For a moment I thought I wasn't getting enough voltage to the igniter but that turned out to be a wrong assessment. I'm trying to schedule a service appointment but up here in the Northeast finding an AQ service person int so easy. . . Thank you.
  6. Interesting discoveries. Without getting into detail I recently had the coach at a body shop to have some work done. It was there for 7 weeks without any type of trickle charge and nobody's starting the motor or the generator. The chassis battery was cooked as they had to jump it several times. I replaced the battery. They also drained the house batteries. With that said, I noticed that my voltage for the house batteries was bouncy between 11.8 and 12 volts only. After doing some youtubing I found out the Aqua Hot will not ignite on low voltage. I started the motor and the generator and the Aqua Hot started right up with no problem. I'm going to do a load test on the house batteries I may have to replace those as well.
  7. Hello, I’m new and I have concerns with my Aqua Hot. My AH will not stay on. I have a toggle switch that shows a blue light when AH is on. I usually leave it on all the time. What’s been happening lately is the light will go on when I turn on the switch, I can hear the AH start to run but it will shut off after less than 60 seconds. My fuel gauge is at 3/4. That is above the usual level of 1/4 tank when the AH will cut off. I am getting hot water on demand but it seems like its running out too quickly. I am also running heat quite a bit over the last week as I am in the northeast (Jersey) and we’ve been having lower than normal temperatures. Is it coincidence that with the heat running my hot water is not lasting as long? Thank you in advance. LD
  8. Thank you. Actually what I'm currently looking for is a new sending unit for the cruise control and a new emblem for the outside entrance and the rear cap. Mine are faded out. The cruise control wasn't working when I purchased her. Richard told me what and where the issue was. I'll need to reach out to him for more info. . Thank you very much.
  9. We had to have looked at over a dozen other coaches before we settled on Richards 2002 Windsor. . . Some of the other coaches had some pretty extensive interior upgrades and they were later models in the same price range .. .. But there was always something about the seller that turned me off. I'm gonna say this. I found Richards Windsor via a broker, Pop RV .. In all honesty, Pop did a decent job helping us find the coach but the reason I went for this Windsor was Richard. We still talk regularly and he continues to impress me with his knowledge and insight .. I fell we were very fortunate to find an seller who took such good care and pride in their coach. I agree. Definitely a winner.
  10. My fuel gauge will stop dropping at 1/2 a tank. I found out when my genny and my Aqua Hot both quit. The Aqua Hot one day, the genny the next. As Richard said, both Gen and AH are fed from the main tank with their fuel lines positioned at about 1/4 tank level. When I dropped below that they were denied fuel. In my defense, I didn't know that my gauge was not working properly. I think its something we forgot to go over when I purchased her or something we did go over and I forgot .. Since the rigg was sitting parked for a month and I was just running the genny and AH I figured 'Wow, the genny and the AH don't burn much fuel at all..lol" ... So, after reading these posts I'm going to look into re-calibrating the sensor. . . Or to be honest, I would rather fuel up at 1/2 a tank anyway. I have the Silverleaf system plugged into my diagnostic port and I can set up a miles driven vs fuel consumed readout and just keep it real from there. Fun Fun Fun .. never knew how much fun it was to own a Class A DP .. Actually . I love it !! Happy and safe motoring. Lenny DePiano 2002 Monaco Windsor (Richards buyer)
  11. @Richard .. I was gong to ask you about the interior handrail. Whether it was illuminated or not. Also, the outside one that is illuminated is going to be replaced. The chrome cannot be redone on the bottom. Not expensive at all.
  12. Auto parts store ... Duh .. lol .. Thank you everyone.
  13. My drivers side window washer hose separated inside the blade. I took the blade off. Following it backwards, the washer hose is attached to the spray nozzle. It comes down the arm and through the tension spring then into the coach and eventually into the pump. The hose separated mid-spring. Looking at the hose ends, the separation is so clean it's as if there was some sort of connector but logic says why? Why would they put a connector on? I am just going to replace the whole line from pump to spray nozzle as it looks a bit tired... Any suggestions where to get what I need ? Where would I find about 4 feet of that thin tubing. My local Lowes or Home Depot did not have any. Tyia
  14. I have two surround sound systems. Reciever, Sub bass and 5 mini speakers .. including center fill. Amazing sound. I had them in my home. I want to keep one for the Windsor. If you're interested I'll hold onto the other one for you.
  15. Looking for a good water pressure regulator. There seems to be a lot of choices out there. When buying online I always look at the reviews from others who have purchased a product and I always click on the poorest reviews first. These reviews vary from great to 'DON'T BUY' .. Any experienced suggestions welcome. TYIA Lenny D
  16. Hi Bob... My tires are running at <103 and 105> up front right now. Rears at driver side are <103 & <<(pressure not transmitting from inside tire but we know it was checked before we left and it was good). Passenger side is 103>> and 101> . I currently do not have a portable compressor to adjust pressure as I am just taking her home for the first time. I will be giving her all the TLC she wants and needs once I get back. Shes been well taken care of and I plan on giving her what shes used to. Shes 20yrs old. Shes a senior citizen in coach years. Lol... Thanks Bob. If you have any suggestions to make my ride any less 'drifty' I'm all eyes.
  17. Thank you for all the info on this subject. Richard, I reread the list you provided me and I missed the steering box replacement first read. I will look into having the Watts link installed and possibly the TRW set more to my liking when we get home. I'm still on the hunt for a good, reliable RV shop in my area. Thank you again for the 'hand holding' as I go through the learning curve of being a newbie in this fantastic group of knowledgeable folks. Happy motoring is right around the corner.
  18. Hi, I’m new so please bear with me if this subject has been discussed. I just purchased a 2002 Monaco Windsor 40PBT .. I’m actually still driving her home to NJ from Fla. (Thank you Richard) .. I’m having a bear of a time keeping her in a straight line. I’ve reached out to other Monaco owners of the same year. What I’ve been getting back has all been pointing to one thing in particular. The unadjustable Shepard steering box. It’s been suggested that I have a TRW box along with a Watts Link installed .. Not so sure what the cost factor on this is yet but no matter, it has to be done. I’m getting exhausted and not enjoying my ride as I feel I should. I was originally going to have a Safe-T- Plus installed but I’m hearing others did this with minimal improvement. I am also hearing that the Safe-T-Plus puts a strain on the power steering pump .. Of course the fact remains that I am a newbie. So there’s that .. Truth be told, I have been getting used to the drift and learning the steer formula for lack of a better term, but this will be the first thing to have done (if I can find a local shop to do the work) . Does anyone have any suggestions or feelings on this ? …. TYIA.
