  1.  The following was taken out of the service manual on Bendix Spicer slack adjusters.

"The clay based grease is OK but I'd use lithium on the auto slack adjusters and the rest of the coach. But never Moly ".

Sorry for any confusion I may have made/done.

Washable filters can kill a diesel engine. We use a lot of air and you can end up dusting your engine

Bruce ; Maintain the components that require that will provide the results you want.  Neglect is self induced.

What fuel economy did you get prior to your mods?

Doug ; Cruise  was  6.2  MPG  over 7900 miles.  The increase in CFM's and straight pipe was amazing.

Accelerating thru 1st, 2nd, and 3rd was great on the X way entrance ramp. Climbing elevations too.

  3.  Reducing back pressure is an easy thing to do with obvious performance results. I had a 525 ISX in a 07 Executive i did the following changes to the intake and exhaust components. I replaced the OEM air cleaner with one from AFE, which had a washable filter element and more CFM capacity, same micron spec. Next i replaced ALL the pleated intake hose with rubber fittings and aluminum tubing from intakehoses.com. That's what truckers use. Got rid of all the air friction in the intake. Next was a resonator to replace the muffler from dynaflexproducts.com. Largest MFG. of class 8 truck exhaust components in the U S A. Did not like that so i went straight pipe. . Here is a picture of the results on a screen shot of my Aladdin system. Performance was great and my average CRUISING MPG went up. I cruised at 1350-1400 RPM, 61-62 MPH.

  4. Hi. I have been to your beautiful city many times.

Look for a metal tag on the axle. It will have the information you need to order the parts.

    I would try;

https://sourcerv.com/  Scott or Jim. The are engineers and worked at Monaco when your coach was built.

They know the Roadmaster chassis better than anyone in the USA.

Another is; https://josamusa.com/              Another is;  https://www.hendersonslineup.com/

Great info, Tom! I hope to get under there this morning if it isn't raining (the ceiling in our hangar is too low to raise the motorhome inside), and I will check all of those things. I will let the group know what I find. I'm betting an upper shock mount, which IIRC are of the stud variety.

    IIRC means ???

  6. I would use POR 15 product to paint those . I also would use 11r 22.5, H,  on the drive and tag. Same diameter as 295's and will be more than adequate for the weight . They are rated greater than the axle rated carrying capacity and save big $$$'s over 295's. Truckers use them on trailers for that reason. You want a better ride, then use larger tires.  Local Truck tire distributor has been selling Kumho for 18 years, Never had a warranty claim for tire MFG. failure.

  7. https://www.dynaflexproducts.com/  Largest MFG. of class 8 exhaust components in the U S A. Measure your, go to any class 8 truck shop, they can order one. A resonator would be a good choice, less back pressure, not much change dB rating. Lots of trucks have one inside their exhaust stacks.

The decibel (dB) is a unit used to measure sound intensity and other physical quantities. A decibel is one tenth of a bel (B), a unit named after Graham Bell, the inventor of the telephone. Its logarithmic scale is convenient to represent the entire range of human hearing.

The INTERNAL TV is controlled, I suspect, off a lighted switch panel. All your lighted switch keypads are part of the Intellitec Multiplex (MPX) system.  If you are not familiar with this, read up on it in section 8 of the manual.  Go to the search box in the upper right put in INTELLITEC in the search box. Click on EVERYWHERE and select FILES.  There is a file on it, maybe 2.  Read the one authored by Frank McElroy.  There are several items that could be the cause.

HOWEVER…Since you have the CCM,  I don’t know if your Chassis Control system works it or if it is part of the Intellitec MPX.

Also read section 9.  You need to identify whether there is a plain switch or the Intellitec MPX or the CCM….then start to troubleshoot

IF it is on the MPX, then, the first trick is to go to the door and find the Battery Cut Off Switch. Turn OFF the switch. I’d wait 5 minutes. That kills the power to the CPU that drives the MPX system. This is a programmable logic controller. The switch sends a multiplexed signal to the CPU. There are some “default” interlocks that must be made or satisfied.  If they are OK, THEN the down or lower switch will operate it and vice versa for raising.

You need to go to the rear closet and find the switch diagram.  The TV switch, when operated, will result in the CPU sending a signal to one of the Intellitec modules. The diagram lists the ALPHA LETTER of the module as well as the NUMERIC circuit number. Find the module and locate the circuit.  There is a 10 Amp fuse on each circuit. If you push the RAISE SWITCH and the RAISE green light on that circuit number comes on….then the switch is signalling the CPU and the module is sending out an operating signal to the mechanism.  No GREEN LIGHT….  Problem in the switch or module….typically NOT in the CPU.

    That’s it.

The TV is in the patio slide wall. It travels down/up like in a Televator.

Looks like the hydraulic tank for the slides is almost empty, I fill 3/4 a gallon of oil(that is all I have now), it is still not full, and it is MUCH MUCH faster now.

I will buy another gallon to fill it up to 100%.

I used engine cleaner to clean the tank and cylinders and wipe it out with paper tower, much better now but still a lot of grease there, It will probably take metal scrubber to make it really clean. But it is good for now

Thank your guys so much for all your help!

    I really appreciate it!

I have a 1997 Dynasty and the tail lights are starting to crack pretty badly around the screw holes in the housing.  I spent some time looking around and understand that these were the Chevy Pickup and Blazer lights from the 70s and 80s and can easily be found.  The problem is that the original Monaco lights have a red insert where the ones online are using this area as the reverse lights.  My coach has the reverse lights down lower on the coach and the bulb socket for this spot is wired for the running, brake and turn signals.  Here is what the Chevy lights available for purchase look like:

I am considering updating to something newer looking:

I have tried researching this, but can't seem to find an answer to the question of is it legal to insert a red 1157 where the reverse bulb is suppose to be used?

    Would appreciate any advice.  Thanks!!

Did you take the DOT or SAE # off the OEM lense and do a google search?
