02 knight has hydraulic brakes. Level looks fine.

I think they are saying the level should be just below the openings at the top.  But it isn't hugely critical.

Have you ever flushed / refilled the system with new brake fluid?  2002...it should be done.

Never. No visible contamination. I get away with a lot of extended maintenance. I store it covered in the dry desert town of Needles, CA

Robert,

Brake fluid is hygroscopic meaning it absorbs moisture. That is why it is recommend to change it even through it may appear to be in good condition.
