  1. Some day I’m going to drop the ISB down between the frame rails to work on it. When I do, I’ll be glad the entire hitch assembly can be unbolted.
  2. Make sure your installer knows what he’s doing. My first replacement set of GY 650’s I used Dyna Beads and ran 9 years / 50k miles with perfect wear pattern. I inspected the demounted tires, inside still looked like new. The next, a shoddy install in Kingman Az, installer buffed the steel rim beads with a wire wheel down to raw steel and mounted with soapy water. 6 years later 50k miles, I was getting a deep “River channel pattern” on 3 of 6 tires. I pulled the tires and found the excess soapy water solution has rusted the inside of the “bad” wheels, and the rusty muck had caused the beads to clump, and dozens of beads were embedded in the tire bead.
  3. I have the same “pitot tube” vacuum pump that works off an air line. I took it apart and put a tip cleaner down the pitot tube, worked once, then stopped working again. Through trial and error I discovered that a rap on the pump with a screwdriver handle when the engine was running would work, vacuum door on the dash a/c would immediately work and continue to work until I restarted the engine. This workaround went on for several years. Last year I changed out my air governor due to excessive time to pump up my air bags. This fixed the slow airbag problem and also fixed the vacuum pump problem. You need to find out what your air pressure is.
  4. Never. No visible contamination. I get away with a lot of extended maintenance. I store it covered in the dry desert town of Needles, CA
  5. Your chassis is the same as mine. You do not have an air drier filter.
  6. 02 knight has hydraulic brakes. I can put a light behind the reservoir and see the fluid level but where is the full line? the user manual says "fluid level should be at the bottom of the port ring openings".
  7. Right side of the main breaker failed, resulting in high resistance, resulting in heat, which cooked the bus and breakers plugged into it. That's my guess. You're lucky you caught it in time.
  8. Square D breakers. very cheap and readily available at HD. Take one with you to make sure you get the right type. Is the aluminum bus damaged? the whole back panel can be replaced cheaply. I've never heard burnt insulation described as fishy odor.
  9. Apparently Monaco did not include Air or Hydraulic Schematics in the entry level Knight Owners document package.
  10. Using pico-farads to calculate cable length. Interesting. Did you use an analog or digital meter?
  11. Jim, what is the current status of your install? If your still looking for a path from rooftop to battery compartment, I wanted to chime in that on my Knight 32PBD I pulled my cables through the electrical trough in the rear AC and fished the cables through the ceiling to drop into the rear tv cabinet. I put the boost controller nearby and exited the boost controller down the back bulkhead area and over to the battery compartment.
  12. I live in Orange County. The RV market is indeed hot. In the past month, I've had 2 people knock on my door and inquire about my rv parked in the driveway. Never happened before. I suspect people are looking for Covid escape machines.
  13. Dirtiest radiator/cac I've ever seen! Here in Kalifornia we must build a lined containment trough to collect the contaminated cleaning solution and take it to a hazardous waste disposal facility. They only accept 5 gallons at a time so I have to drive around 3 times.
