It's split but on mine there's a plastic squirrel cage and it's a solid piece. I haven't been able to get that plastic squirrel cage to move. Search parameters were dometic penguin motor & fan replacement YouTube. Bunch of them out there….this is first one…. Try the other ones if this is not clear. The comments are to buy only the OEM Dometic motor and shaft. Also, don’t be a cheapskate, replace both as you will regret it.
