KarenG
For the sake of knowing, where are the manual slide controls and what tool do you use? It's better to know before I need this info! And do you treat the gears for the electric slide with grease or spray to keep them lubricated? Thanks! 2008 Safari Simba 36PCT
jacwjames
I use a silicon spray on the gears, something that dirt won't stick to. To bring my slides in manually I have to release the lock mechanism on the end of the motor, it is covered by a black boot but you can release the brake without removing the boot. I then use a large crescent wrench with a cheater bar. I can do it myself but takes quite a bit of force. My guess is a lot of people would not be able to do it without help by someone pushing on the slide. You may want to practice to make sure how to do it. AND don't forget to put the brake back on the end of the motor, I forgot one time and the slide crept out ~2 inches while driving.
